Bio:

British band Trishula is the brainchild of UK guitarist Neil Fraser and was born out of Neil's work on his first solo project which started in 2015. In the mid-eighties Neil played in a number of local rock bands from the Staffordshire area of England, and achievements during this time included gaining airplay on Radio Luxembourg with a track called "Poltergeist", along with securing support slots with bands such as 80s glam rock band Wrathchild, who was gaining lots of attention at the time. Since the late 90s Neil has played, toured and/or recorded with bands and artists such as Ten, Rage Of Angels & Tony Mills (TNT, Shy). During his time with the band Rage Of Angels, Neil had worked alongside Welsh vocalist Jason Morgan and Portuguese drummer Joao Colaco. So when forming Trishula, Jason and Joao were Neil's first choice to complete the line-up for the recording of the album. The band's debut album, "Scared To Breathe", was initially recorded in Neil's home studio (Farmyard Studios), demo vocals were recorded in various locations in Wales, with final vocal recordings being captured at M2 Madhat Studios (Magnum) under the watchful eye of Sheena Sear, additional keyboards were also added at M2 Studios by Magnum keyboard player Rick Benton, drums were recorded at Black Sheep Studios in Portugal, with final mixing and mastering was also being undertaken by Sheena Sear and Mark Stuart at M2 Studios.

Album:

Neil Fraser (Ten, Rage Of Angels, Tony Mills) is the brains behind Trishula, where he handles guitars, bass and keyboards. He is joined by vocalist Jason Morgan and drummer Joao Colac, both of whom Neil worked with in Rage Of Angels. Magnum’s keyboard player Rick Benton is also involved.Opener ‘I Can See It In Your Eyes’ sets the Trishula sound out, big on keys and soaring guitar riffs, along with the impressive vocals of Jason Morgan. There are shades of Ten on the title track, whilst ‘Secrets And Lies’ is simply immense! The keys, the riffs, the guitar solo, the melodic chorus, the pounding rhythm – this song has it all and is all that is great about melodic hard rock.Long lost UK rockers Pride come to mind on ‘A Thousand Pieces’ and although it clocks in at seven minutes long, the song and melody never outstay their welcome.Fear not lovers of all things musically pink ‘n’ fluffy as there are ballads in the shape of ‘I Never Cried’ and ‘Don’t Let Go’.‘Magnetic Memories’ is a little different to the rest of the album, drawing on the 70’s sound of Rainbow in the keyboards and it has a distinct 70’s rock feel. Here’s hoping this album is not a one off as Neil Fraser has made a damn fine album, plus singer Jason Morgan is a real find. Essential for fellow lovers of 80’s inspired melodic rock with a modern sheen.

Album:

British melodic rock band TRISHULA is the brainchild of UK Guitarist Neil Fraser, accompanied by vocalist Jason Morgan. Neil has played and/or recorded with bands such as RAGE OF ANGELS, TEN, Tony Mills (SHY, TNT), Jason has recently recorded backing vocals for MAGNUM on their latest album The Serpent Rings.TRISHULA released their debut last year, and now they are back with second offering ”Time Waits For No Man”, again via AOR Heaven record label. From the off ‘How It’s Supposed To Be’ highlights what a fine vocalist Jason Morgan – impressive throughout and he really hits those high notes with aplomb. ‘I Want It All’ is a bouncy melodic hard rocker, as is ‘Hear No Evil’ with its instant chorus and upbeat tempo.‘Make Your Mind Up (Take Your Time)’ has a hint of ELO about it, especially in the vocal harmonies. Nice keyboards work from Rick Benton on this one. Oh, and Mr Morgan hits those high notes again! For something totally different ‘I Just Might’ has a gospel backing melded to a hard rocking riff and big chorus. The ballad ‘Every Time We Touch’ rounds the album off in fine style. The keys/arrangements on this one are ones to lose yourself in, wonderful listening.Neil Fraser gets the guitars spot on all over the record, plenty of riffs to drive a song and on the solos, always refined and avoiding the solo taking over any one song.Definitely worth investing in if you enjoy Brit based melodic hard rock with a top notch vocalist.

Line Up:

Jason Morgan – Vocals (Rage of Angels)
Neil Fraser – Guitars (Ex-TEN, Rage of Angels)
Neil Ogden – Drums (Demon)
Dan Clark – Bass (Rebecca Downes)
Rick Benton – Keyboards (Magnum)
Georgia Morgan – Backing Vocals

Tracklist:

01. How It’s Supposed To Be
02. Fallen Hero
03. I Want It All
04. Make Up Your Mind (Take Your Time)
05. I Just Might
06. Hear No Evil
07. The Border
08. The Mighty
09. Knocked Down
10. Every Time We Touch

Album:

4th album by the UK based Hard Rock group.UK guitarist and songwriter Neil Fraser previously has worked/recorded with the likes of TEN, Rage of Angels/Ged Rylands (Tyketto), Tony Mills (TNT, SHY). Trishula started out as Neil’s solo project back in 2015.Fraser had previously worked with Welsh vocalist Jason Morgan in the band Rage of Angels, so Jason was Neil’s first choice for lead vocal duties when it came to assembling the band members for Trishula. It took another 4 years of song writing from 2015 before the debut album ‘Scared to breathe’ was released in 2019.Whilst recording the debut, the UK based group were joined by Neil’s long-time friend and MAGNUM keyboard player Rick Benton and bass player Dan Clark from the Rebecca Downes Band. One year after the release of the debut, Trishula released their second album ‘Time waits for no man’ in 2020. It was at this point that Neil Ogden (DEMON) became their new drummer.
