Album:

Debut album from a new melodic rock band from Sweden, Hydra's "Point Break". Hydra is the brainchild of Swedish songwriter/musician Henrik Hedström, who has been a songwriter based out of Stockholm for many years and a friend of drummer/producer Daniel Flores (First Signal, Find Me, The Murder Of My Sweet) for the past 15 years. Flores drums and plays keyboards on the album, while vocals and lead and rhythm guitars are handled by Andi Kravljaca. Henrik plays keyboards and acoustic and clean guitars in Hydra. In his own words, Henrik Hedström was "kind of a musical prodigy and always sang or played piano at the school celebrations." In Stockholm, Henrik started and joined a few bands through the years, serving as a singer, guitar player and songwriter. He eventually decided to start a solo career and began working with Swedish producer Anders Bagge. After some time with Anders, Henrik started a new band, Hydra. Around the same time, Henrik was signed as a songwriter by Warner/Chappell, writing pop music, but this ultimately wasn't where his heart was and he eventually started a career outside of music. In 2007, Henrik met Daniel Flores, whom he was introduced to through a mutual friend, Andreas Novak (Mind's Eye, House Of Shakira). The two wound up recording some pop music demos for Warner/Chappell, but again, Henrik's heart wasn't really in it and in 2009, he ended his deal with Warner/Chappell. In 2019, Flores reached out to Henrik and asked him to send over some old and newer versions of his songs, particularly the rock ones. Later in 2019, Henrik's song "A Million Miles" was recorded and released by First Signal and in 2020, "Beat Them All" by Angelica, both releases coming via Frontiers Music Srl.

Album:

Hydra represents the creative vision of Swedish songwriter and musician Henrik Hedström, a Stockholm-based songwriter for many years and longtime friend of drummer and producer Daniel Flores, known for his work with First Signal, Find Me, and The Murder Of My Sweet, spanning a friendship stretching back fifteen years.Following two previous releases, "Point Break" in 2022 and "ReHydration" in 2024, the Swedish act returns with their third album, "DeHydration," arriving September 18th, 2026, via Pride & Joy Music.Flores handles both drums and keyboards on the new record, while Andi Kravljaca takes on vocal duties along with lead and rhythm guitar work. Henrik contributes keyboards plus acoustic and clean guitar parts, and Johnny Trobro rounds out the lineup on bass.According to Henrik himself, he showed musical promise from an early age, regularly singing or performing piano pieces during school events. Once in Stockholm, he moved through several bands over the years, taking on roles as vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter along the way. Eventually he chose to pursue a solo path, teaming up with Swedish producer Anders Bagge. Following that partnership, Henrik launched a new project called Hydra. Around this same period, he signed on as a staff songwriter for Warner/Chappell, focusing on pop material, though this direction ultimately didn't resonate with him personally, leading him to eventually step away and pursue work outside the music industry entirely. In 2007, Henrik crossed paths with Daniel Flores, introduced through their shared friend Andreas Novak of Mind's Eye and House of Shakira. Together the pair worked on some pop demo recordings for Warner/Chappell, though once again Henrik found himself lacking genuine passion for that direction, ultimately parting ways with Warner/Chappell in 2009. Then in 2019, Flores got back in touch, asking Henrik to share both older and newer song material, particularly anything rock-oriented. Later that year, Henrik's composition "A Million Miles" was recorded and released by First Signal, followed in 2020 by "Beat Them All," performed by Angelica.Date of release September 18.
