AOR HEAVEN is proud to announce the signing of upcoming Finnish Melodic Hard Rock act IMPERIUM, the solo project of STRIKE drummer, Mika Brushane. The album “Dreamhunter” will be released on March 18th, 2016 and feat. guest musicians from Thunderstone, Kenziner and Dreamtale amongst others.In further news,Imperium is the solo project of STRIKE drummer Mika Brushane.Mika has been playing drums and percussion in various bands since 1981 and has played all genres from jazz to metal and composed songs for different genres and this legacy of mixed genres can be heard in the IMPERIUM songs! The music is a combination of Hard Rock and Melodic Metal and it has a big dose of 80’s feel and sounds in it.The project started in 2012 when Mika composed a new song for the new STRIKE album and realized that there were more songs in him that needed to be released. For this project, he wrote all songs and lyrics, and was playing all drums, bass, keyboards and singing backing vocals.All lead vocals and guitars were taken care off by various very talented musicians from the Finnish metal/rock scene. The album’s post production was mixed by Erkka Korhonen (Urban Tale, Northern Kings, Ari Koivunen, Raskasta Joulua) and mastered by the legendary Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Children of bodom, Stratovarius, HIM etc.) The album was produced and recorded during 2012-2015 by Mika himself at his Groovehouse studio in Vantaa, Finland.

The sound here is basically melodic hard rock, including big melodies, catchy hooks and choruses and very good guitar work with a strong metallic edge and the result is going to please every fan of this scene out there."Dreamhunter", that kicks-off the new record is simply melodic hard rock paradise; a fast-paced rocker with an 80's vibe in it and passionate vocals that grabs you and leaves you hungry for more! "Heaven Is Falling" is yet another late 80's melodic gem. It features a stunning up-tempo melody, crunchy guitars and the necessary 'sweet' chorus line to sing-a-long for days!!! "Always Forever" has this Scandi magic in it while in "There Will Be Light" the band delivers a 'heavier' song that features great arrangements, 'clever' keys and a superb melody. For sure one of the album's highlights. "80's Love Song" is simply a beautiful ballad (very 80's...) and the U.S. flavored "Starlight" is made for big arenas!!!! "Dreamhunter" is a 'back to the past' album! It brings you back to the late 80's, early 90', with its fantastic tracks, the beautiful melodies and big harmonies and the amazing guitar work! Everything here flows perfectly and at the end leaves a big smile upon the face of every melodic fan.

In 2016, the debut album by Imperium, “Dreamhunter”, saw the light of day on AOR Heaven. In Imperium, Mika is in charge of the songwriting and plays all drums, bass, keyboards and the backing vocals. All lead vocals and guitars are performed by various very talented musicians from the rock/metal scene.

On each album he's helped by a bevy of notable and talented vocalists and guitarists from the European musical theater. Heaven Or Hell is Brushane's latest and third Imperium album with guests including, to name a few, Robban Ernlund (Treat), Markku Kuikka (Agonizer, Kenziner, The Ragged Saints), Stefano Lionetti (Lionville), Mikey K Nilsson (Sapphire Eyes), Erkka Korhonen (Dark Sarah, Urban Tale)and Robbie LaBlanc (Blanc Faces). A complete list of song credits is available to download.Musically, Brushane and Imperium stick to their classic Eighties melodic hard rock in an AOR wrapper. Brushane writes songs that are large on guitar and vocal melody and harmony, rock rhythm and groove (featuring his impressive drumming), catchy choruses, and soaring guitar solos. Moreover, Brushane is very good at what he does. There's a constant consistency to his songwriting that results in solid and entertaining tunes.The ten songs within Heaven Or Hell are no exception. Most songs have large, quick starts featuring the rhythm section, harmonious riffs, a dash of keyboards and, often, an initial rising guitar solo. Then the vocals climb aboard as the steady rock rhythm and groove propel the song to the quintessential epic guitar solo. You'll hear all these things with Lost In Yesterday, Invincible, Dreaming On, Heaven Or Hell, or Love Won't Let You Go. That last song is also an example of Brushane's keyboard input, notably the piano line. While all the songs receive some synth treatment, the keyboards loom larger within Save Me, Vision In A Dream, and Time Is Up. Considering personnel and production, Brushane's choice of vocalists is once more spot on, with fine performances from Robbie LaBlanc, Robban Ernlund, and new singer Paolo Ribaldini.All in all, from start to finish, Mika Brushane and Imperium's Heaven Or Hell is another entertaining tour-de-force of AOR driven melodic hard rock. Easily recommended.
