On June 16, Valerie are releasing their brand new EP “Dangerous”.The EP, which is limited to 500 copies only, consists of the AOR-driven single Night After Night along unreleased Hearts On the Line and the title track Dangerous. Two tracks that will not be featured on Valerie’s upcoming second album, which is set to be released later this year.“Dangerous” offers punch, big hair, melody and hard rocking guitars that may just be the coolest thing coming out of Norway this year. And according to Mosvhille Times “Valerie are doing a damn good job in making sure this genre lives on!”Valerie formed in Arendal, a small town in southern Norway, in 2011. Known for their big sing-along choruses, old-skool vibe and hooks, Valerie are often compared to infamous 80s rock bands like Ratt and Dokken, or even Danger Danger. Their fist album was released in June 2012 though Hellish Records, and according to Hard Rock Haven’s Mark Allen ” [Valerie] sounds like hair metal, looks like hair metal, and is possessed by the same pop-metal spirit that defined the burgeoning Sunset Strip scene back in the ‘80s.”

Valerie, Norway’s finest new hard rock outfit, “sounds like hair metal, looks like hair metal, and is possessed by the same pop-metal spirit that defined the burgeoning Sunset Strip scene back in the ‘80s” (Mark Allen, Hard Rock Haven).Valerie was formed in Arendal, a small town in southern Norway. It’s melodic, catchy, in-your-face hard rock. Valerie is 1987 in 2015.In career spanning just a few years, Valerie have earned themselves a strong reputation in their home county of Agder, but have also made their mark on the national glam/sleaze scene. In June 2011 they released their first 2-track demo (Taste the bullet, Love is like a heart attack) and both songs reached the number one spot on http://www.urørt.no (A national site for underground music owned and promoted by the national state television channel NRK).Brian Rademacher from RockEyez.com said the following in his review of this demo :“For a young band like VALERIE to show talent like a seasoned veteran group; from the soaring guitar work by BT Valerie (not to mention his vocals) to the uplifting midsection of bassist Augustus Clark and drummer Erlend Omdal and rhythm guitar Magnus Christiansen. Both songs are killer and I can’t wait for more to come from them “The band performed at the legendary Norwegian club “Elm Street” in Oslo with W.A.S (Chris Holmes) in 2011, and has since performed alongside bands such as TNT, Turbonegro, Chris Slade (AC/DC), Kerri Kelli (Alice Cooper), and Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple, Malmsteen).In June 2012, Valerie released their critically acclaimed s/t debut album through Hellish Records, in Norway. Norwegian up-and-comer rockers Valerie are set to release their brand new studio album “Young Hunger” through Demon Doll Records; a smashing follow-up to their critically acclaimed cult debut from 2012. Legendary producer Beau Hill (Ratt, Warrant, Europe) contacted the band after hearing them on a local radio station in Texas, and offered to do the mixing on their sophomore release.The record is more AOR oriented than their previous effort, with bigger harmony vocals, catchy guitars, background synthesizers and great hooks… The album will have a early-mid May release, and will be distributed by Demon Doll Records.Valerie’s s/t debut from 2012 saw the band featured in Classic Rock Magazine, gaining them an underground fan following, while all along keeping a distance from the ironic touch of the 80s rock revival band Steel Panther. In 2014 Valerie were booked to what was Norway’s biggest pop festival, playing alongside artists such as Imagine Dragons, Ellie Goulding, Bastille and Disclosure.
