In January 1997 UK-born Taz Taylor took a leap of faith and boarded a plane to Los Angeles with nothing more than a guitar, a backpack and roughly $2,000...He spent much of his first year in the USA as a long haul truck driver, criss-crossing the country countless times in an 18-wheeler and spending the downtime in his sleeper berth practicing guitar. Eventually he settled in San Diego CA and set about recording his debut instrumental album "Caffeine Racer" which was released in July 2004. A band was formed and live shows commenced.Caffeine Racer got the attention of legendary vocalist Graham Bonnet, most notable for working with the best guitarists in rock (Ritchie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai) and they set about recording the Taz Taylor Band album "Welcome To America" which was released on the UK label Escape Music in Aug 2006. Present TTB drummer Val Trainor joined immediately after the WTA sessions were completed.International tours followed in 2007 and 2008, taking the band to UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and Czech Republic. In 2009 the band recruited another ex-MSG vocalist, Keith Slack for the "Straight Up" album, also on Escape Music, and also featuring a guest appearance from Deep Purple's Don Airey on keyboards.2010 saw the band returning to Taz's instrumental roots with the release of "Big Dumb Rock".Current TTB bassist Barney Firks joined immediately after the recording of this album and the band played a string of dates to promote BDR opening for MSG (4 times), Uli Jon Roth (4 times), UFO (twice), Gary Hoey (twice), Pat Travers (twice), Dokken, Skid Row, Great White, Molly Hatchet, LA Guns, Lynch Mob, Wishbone Ash, Tony McAlpine, Alan Holdsworth and Greg Howe.In 2014 TTB are on a mission with their brand new album "Deja Voodoo", an all instrumental offering of eight songs featuring a line-up that has been together now for four years and has bonded and grown into something really special.During the summer of 2014 TTB embarked on a 10-date Summer Tour to promote Deja Voodoo, including dates in California as well as eight dates in the UK.

Album:
It has been a decade since Escape Music released the classic “Welcome to America” album by Taz Taylor in 2006 and it was a really strong album with none other than Rainbow singer Graham Bonnet on lead vocals. Three years later and “Straight Up” was released with Keith Slack (MSG) taking the mike stand. The album also featured Don Airey (Rainbow, Deep Purple) on keyboards. After these two really strong releases, the Taz Taylor Band decided to go instrumental and tour dates ensued with the likes of Ace Frehley, L.A. Guns, Molly Hatchet, Dokken, Skid Row, MSG and Great White to name but a few.Bringing us up to the present day, it’s time to return to a line-up that includes a vocalist and so Taz has used the incredible vocal talents of Chandler Mogel (Outloud, Punky Meadows). Chandler and Taz have always kept in touch and it seemed the right time to collaborate on an album … and here is: “Pressure & Time”. As Taz states: "Pressure and time is how you create diamonds.”This new 2017 release is 12 tracks chock full of exciting ideas and quality musicianship, with original members Val Trainor and Barney Firks laying down a great rhythm backbone for Taz to show off his guitar playing prowess.

Album:
Bursting on the scene with the acclaimed “Welcome To America” album in 2006, Taz Taylor has released numerous albums that have secured his position as one of the finest guitarists in recent rock history. The new Taz Taylor Band album “Nocturnal” is no exception, along for the ride this time are legendary vocalists Graham Bonnet, Mark Boals, Doogie White, David Reece and Chandler Mogel. "Nocturnal" brings back everything you love about the classic 80s era of melodic heavy rock!Guitarist Taz Taylor, already familiar to many in the hard rock world via his previous albums Welcome To America’, ‘Straight Up’ and 2017’s ‘Pressure & Time’ is back with his latest album “Nocturnal,” featuring some of rock’s finest vocalists: Doogie White, Graham Bonnet, David Reece, Mark Boals & previous TTB collaborator Chandler Mogel.Taz Taylor offers the following: During the Summer of 2020, I took to the studio in San Diego with long-time bandmates Val Trainor and Barney Firks to record a new album. Global Rock A&R Giles Lavery can be credited for brokering a new liaison between myself and vocalist Graham Bonnet as there had been little communication between us since 2008 after we did the “Welcome To America” album, but once we were back in touch, a new song “The Accidental Tourist” was in the can! Giles also made introductions between myself and David Reece, who contributes vocals to three songs on the album. Chandler Mogel (previously heard on TTB album Pressure And Time) makes an appearance on the song “Blue,” and I reached out to long time acquaintances Doogie White and Mark Boals, who are also featured prominently on the album; Mark is turning in phenomenal performances on three songs and Doogie showing a slightly different side to his huge vocal talent on the song “Raw Nerve,” which we have chosen as the first single and video.“Nocturnal” (released July 15th) is a throwback in time, an album of classic hard rock, performed by ‘lifer’ musicians who are in it because they have nothing they would rather be doing! On this album, guitarist Taz Taylor, bassist B.L. Firks, and drummer Val Trainor team up with some of hard rock’s greatest vocalists. Together they have managed to combine the swagger and attitude of the 80’s Sunset Strip with the musical virtuosity of the shred guitar boom, which also peaked in that decade – whilst simultaneously raising a huge musical middle finger to the decade that followed.Says Taz, “It’s only 2022 if you look at a calendar and tune into today’s crap mainstream radio! So grab a copy of “Nocturnal” and remind yourself what Rock n’ Roll is supposed to sound like!” Global Rock will also be re-issuing Taz Taylor Band’s back catalog later in 2022!

Album:
”The Other Side of Midnight” is the newest LP from UK-born rock guitarist Taz Taylor. Available from his label, No Hair Records, the album features various subgenres of rock and roll – from riff-driven hard rock to ballads and a couple of instrumentals showcasing the band’s abilities. With this new album, TAZ TAYLOR BAND reaches new heights as a quintet (rather than former line up as quartet) – thanks to the addition of acclaimed keyboardist Alessandro Del Vecchio. As an even bigger left turn, ”The Other Side of Midnight” marks the first time his band solely features a female vocalist, who in this case is Laura Vreeland. The result is a piece of work that successfully demonstrates how a marquee guitarist and bandleader – and who had in his previous records several heavyweight vocalists like Doogie White, Graham Bonnet and David Reece – can maintain consistency in his own “voice” (vis a vis, his instrument) even when the singer is an entirely different gender. With her smooth voice and sexy phrasing not excent of power Laura Vreeland provides a really welcomed female touch to Taz’s classic rock bluesy riffs influenced by the likes of Gary Moore and Michael Schenker. They do a cover of Rainbow’s classic ‘Temple Of The King’ and works greatly.
