In recent times, the Frisian hard rockers of Bildtstar have made a huge advance. Armed with their debut album "Burning After Midnight", they are slowly but surely conquering Friesland's major stages. And on 1 June, they will be side by side with hard rock titans Elegy and Picture on the Bolwerk stage.It all started during the dark days of the corona period. While the world seemed to come to a standstill, the men of Bildtstar found inspiration in the chaos. Lead singer and frontman Simon Wiegersma enthusiastically shares, "We started writing and soon we felt we were heading in a direction that appealed to all of us."But where do they get their inspiration? Simon explains: "Each of us has our own taste and background, and you can see that in our music. From punk to blues rock, hard rock to metal - it all comes together in our unique sound."Months of dedication and hard work followed. Bildtstar gathered around a team of talented producers Nico Outhuijsse of De Kast and Rick Meijer of Fist Full of Dirt and dove into the studio in Harlingen. The result? An album each of them is proud of: "Burning After Midnight".In January, the title track of their debut album was released. This shot to over 50,000 streams in no time, raising expectations for the release of the full album. A smashing show at pop venue Neushoorn followed in April, where the debut album was officially launched. Simon proudly says: "It was great to see our dream come true with a stadium-worthy show full of fire, engines and all the trimmings." It was f*cking fat!"While Bildtstar are conquering the world with their raw energy and undeniable talent, they are already looking ahead to what the future holds. With a recently acquired manager by their side and plans for a real Bildtstar Festival, there is no shortage of ambition and creativity in this band.
