Bio:
Forged in the fire of the Bay Area rock underground, The Pound was decades in the making before officially forming in 1987. Born from the ashes of the ’70s band Black Rose, lifelong musicians Clay Babb (guitar), Karl Reiche (bass), and Mark Cox (drums) reunited and found their missing piece in powerhouse vocalist Mike Moore. One rehearsal at Soundtek Studios was all it took - his “voice from hell” sealed the deal and The Pound was unleashed.Throughout the late ’80s and early ’90s, The Pound quickly became notorious for ferocious live shows and street-level hard rock that pulled no punches earning opening slots for numerous national heavyweights. Their songs were ripped straight from real life: chaos, excess, conflict, and survival, delivered with raw authenticity and zero compromise. Loud, heavy, and unapologetic: a fierce fusion of Skid Row’s gritty swagger, Accept’s pounding precision, and Banshee’s soaring melodic power, this sound is riff-driven, anthem-ready metal with bite and unforgettable hooks.
