Firestorm is a hard & heavy band, based in Frankfurt/Germany founded in 2011 by Marco Russo & Martin Landersheim. The sound of the 4 member group is a unique mix between classical hardrock and some newer, more aggresive heavy- and thrashmetal riffing. The bigges influences of the band are Metallica, AC/DC, Motörhead, Airbourne, Parkway Drive, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Three Days Grace, Bullet For My Valentine and many more in the universe of hard & heavy music!After the former rhythm guitarist and singer Samy Lercher left the band Need Head in March 2011 and was replaced by Mirijam Wilde (sister of long-time drummer Elias Wilde), the idea of starting a different musical project with Marco Russo (who at the time only played drums) was born. Within about 3 months Marco Russo learnt the basics of playing the guitar and quickly developed a talent for writing his own songs. So the two got together and rehearsed two songs. On 21 August 2011, they gave their debut performance under the name "The Guitar Brothers" at the Griesheim Mainuferfest, which was a good opportunity to see how people reacted to them. The two were well received and many more gigs followed. They were a welcome guest at events organised by the "Kreativhaus" music school and received plenty of positive reviews from the audience. Guitarist Marco Russo had, in addition to "The Guitar Brothers" also have another musical project called "Firestorm", in which Samy Lercher also sings."Firestorm" was formed as a single band after the two founding members Marco Russo and Martin Landersheim left "WannaBe", an up-and-coming band supported by the "Mehrschall e.V." association, due to differences with the association's founder Rainer Lüdicke."Firestorm was founded in November 2011, but after Marco Russo began his training in August 2012, it was realised that it was no longer possible to run both projects at the same time, so the decision was made to merge the two projects. It was no easy task to unite a pure unplugged duo like "The Guitar Brothers" and a riff rock-influenced band like "Firestorm". So the young musicians tried to let both influences have an effect.This was only partially successful, which led to internal unrest. Disciplinary breakdowns and dissatisfaction were the result. The founding members Marco Russo and Martin Landersheim took over their role as bandleaders and completely reorganised the band. Shortly after singer Samy Lercher left by mutual agreement, bassist Markus Müller also left the band. The reasons for this were personal. The decision was made to swap positions in the band. Marco Russo moved from the drums to the microphone and now has the classic frontman role (rhythm guitar and vocals). Elias Wilde took over the drumset. The drummer, who is also trained, had few problems with the change. Martin Landersheim was and still is the lead guitarist. After a few weeks, bassist Markus Leutz joined the band. The newly-formed band Firestorm was awarded the title of "Best Band" on 30.05.2014 at a rock concert evening at the Bar am Hartbreak Hill (Bad Vilbel) was the first opportunity to perform live with this line-up. The completely newly formed team followed up with further performances. Musically, everything fitted together very well. However, in a band it's not just the music that counts, but also - and perhaps above all - the interpersonal understanding. As time went on, this began to get out of hand, especially between lead guitarist and founding member Martin Landersheim and bassist Markus Leutz. After some time, this led to the separation of bassist Markus Leutz. With his successor Filip Poljak, the band celebrated its first successes at the beginning of 2015 and played in renowned Frankfurt clubs such as "Nachtleben" and "Das Bett". Just over a year after he joined the band, he left very abruptly.He left the band without giving any reasons. Christian Rinaldi was to be his successor. He played the first Emergenza show of the 2016 season as well as the bass track on the first demo single "Basement Inc.", which was released on 1 March 2016. Due to internal disagreements, however, he left the band shortly after the demo was released. The band found his successor in Alex Fiebrandt. After initially talking about a temporary solution, he decided to stay with the band permanently after the two concerts at the Emergenza semi-final in the "Bett", the regional final in the "Batschkapp" in Frankfurt and the 2nd place he achieved there, as well as leaving his previous band "The Outsiders". The chemistry was better here than with any of his predecessors for a very long time. At the beginning of December 2016, the two regular members Elias Wilde and Martin Landersheim went on an 11-month stay abroad in New Zealand. During this time, they were replaced by Yanneck Sorge (guitar) and Angelo Pinto (drums). After some internal differences, Yanneck Sorge left the band and was replaced by Matze Meyer for the remaining period from May 2017 - November 2017.
