The group was set up by Grzegorz Kupczyk, the vocalist of Turbo, on 12 october 1989. At the beginning it was a kind of a separation from music performed so far. After leaving his original band Grzegorz dedicated himself to solo singing with CETI. The name of the group comes from the NASA programme “communication with extraterrestrial intelligence” from 1971.The first record “The Black Rose” has appeared on LP, CD and MC. It contains a recording of the guest performance of Czeslaw Niemen. “At Heart’s Door” was the first big hit which has been taking first places in the radio and TV charts for many weeks.At that time Grzegorz Kupczyk (voc., bass), Marihuana (kbds), Andrzej Lysow (guit.), Jacek Jablonski (perc.) belonged to the group. Then Maciej Przybylski (bass) joined CETI. The group prepared the whole recording and made a record of music to the film by Andrzej Szczygiel - ”Red Inter Show”.The second album ’92 - ”Lamiastrata” - brought another change. Marcin “Mucek” Krystek (perc.) joined the band. CETI prepared new music and gave many concerts in Poland and Germany. Thorough hardrock music with fairy-tale text was a great success. The title-piece “Lamiastrata” was the biggest hit. The next recording -”Extasy ’93″ was made during concerts in Germany and Jarocin ’92. An excellent production, spontaneous response of the audience and a perfect performance proved that the group is good both at concerts and in a studio. It is also well accepted.The record “Racism” -1994 - caused a conflict between the guitarist and the other members of the band. As a result, the recording proved uninteresting and inconsistent. It was not a commercial success although it was well edited and promoted. However “Epitaph” - one of the pieces -succeeded taking second place in the TV charts and first place in the radio charts.At the end of the year 2000, the next album “Demony Czasu” (“Demons Of Time”) has been released under the label of MMP. Many critics described this one, as the best band’s release -very positive reviews, and number of sold copies can only attest their opinion. The year 2001 was the year of giant success: Grzegorz has been nominated to the “Wodnik” prize for his whole work, and the readers of the Metal Hammer Magazine choosed him as the fourth personality of the year 2000, fifth vocalist of the year. Album was choosed as the fifth album of year, song “Feniks” as the fourth track of the year. And the readers of teh Thrash Em All Magazine, choosed him as the ninth vocalist of the year. On the Metal Hammer’s sum up of the year 2001, he was choosed as the personality of the year (first place!) and took the second place as the musician. People from the Metal business (both from Poland and abroad) are still very interested in the “Lamiastrata” and “Extasy ’93″.In 2001 CETI started the cooperation with Oskar Records from Poznan. It had an effected with re-editions of three previous albums that included unique audio tracks & video footage. The reception of the CD-version of “Lamiastrata” was a great surprise even to the band. They received a very warm welcome all over the world, and the lp got nice reviews (True Metal Magazine/Greece, Hellion/Germany), interview proposals (Malaysia) and a great deal of fan interest a good example of that is one music store in Tokyo that sold over 50 CD’s during two weeks time. The band’s management (Dragonight Agency) that is doing international affairs, is considering a few deal proposals from the labels interested in editing “Lamiastrata” in vinyl, or having a special version for South America. “Lamiastrata” is being distributed in all western Europe and the USA.In amount CETI has recorded to 2011 year 14 albums , titles: Czarna róża, 1989 (Black Rose) Lamiastrata, 1992 Extasy ’93 Life, 1993 Maxi Promotion EP 1994 Rasizm, 1994 (Rasism) W imię prawa, 1999 (In the name of law) Demony czasu, 2000 (Demons of time) Shadow of the Angel, 2003 Living Angel- life, 2004 Living Shadow of the Angel DVD, 2004 The Best From Hard Zone Part One, 2006 The Best From Light Zone Part Two, 2006 (…) Perfecto Mundo (…), 2007 Akordy slow DVD, 2009 (Chords of Words) In 2008, as the only one of hard rock artists in Poland CETI, prepared and recorded in CD and DVD version, an extraordinarily original concert with a symphonic orchestra and a choir. The concert had a title „AKORDYSŁÓW czyli rock metal symfonicznie” (Chords of Words or Symphonic Rock Metal). This concert was presented in so unique places for the metal musicians as Philharmonic and Opera. New album of CETI group CETI id title “Ghost of The Universe behind The Black Curtain“ realize for EMI MUSIC (premiere of CD: 22.03.2011 ).Lamiastrata helps with representation of the group, produces and sells official devices, discs, t-shirts and bootlegs.In 2012 Greg Kupczyk publish CD album with his greats hits ”GRZEGORZ KUPCZYK 30 lat” for EMI MUSIC POLNAD - with hits from his XXX year of the career. He presenting this album in Polish TV station, many radio stations add this album receive fantastic reviews . in April 2012 in Warsaw M-ART Agency organize for Artist special concert anniversary XXX year on stage. To album artist realized clip to his great hit ”Velvety Dream”.In January 2013 in United Kingdom CETI have the promoter and publisher , promoter is the firm CAPTATIN TOM Ldt. owner of this firm TOM SIMMONDS is the chairman of publishing house FAT HIPPY RECORDS which issue the British version of the newest CD of CETI " Ghost Of The Universe Behind The Black Curtainin" (October 2013)From 4.02.13 CETI is the member of Legacy Records Group that publish CETI CD’s in Germany and western Europa and Poland too.In April 2013 due to very poor state of health Bartek Urbaniak leaves the band. He was replaced by Tomasz Targosz.In May 2013 CETI has signed the distributional contract with PRONET RECORDS, this firm introduced recordings of CETI to digital sale on the world by Amazon, Bandcamp, 8merch, iTunes, Rhapsody, Emusic, Deezer, Google Music, Spotify.In October 2013 CETI go on month promotional tour in United Kingdom, where it will be presented in several important musicians concert halls. During this tour will precede CETI some young British musical formation.In plans is the next tour in Spring 2014 CETI with some European groups, CETI management M-ART. Agency plans concerts in Germany, Great Britain, Holland etc.

The album, the title of which is signed with the band's name, will be the twelfth album in the group's output. The album will be available in a limited edition, on a double "digipack" - with a bonus concert CD. The second disc will contain Ceti's performance from December 2021, from Warsaw's "Remont" and 2 concert recordings from the "U Bazyla" club in Poznań, from September 2021."Certainly different, more aggressive" - this is what Grzegorz Kupczyk announces and continues - "Smaku is added by the fact that we met regularly during the restrictions and in order not to waste time complaining and stuck in idleness, we decided to prepare new material. there is Tomek Targosz, I took care of creating melodic lines and lyrics as always. " This is Ceti's first album without the participation of Maria Wietrzykowska, while the ranks of the formation were joined by a new drummer, Piotr Szpalik, and the other musicians making up the band are: Bartosz Sadura (guitar), Jakub Kaczmarek (guitar), Tomasz Targosz (bass) and Grzegorz Kupczyk (vocal) .
