Tony Mitchell is best known as being the singer songwriter & fronting the 90s classic rock band Kiss of the Gypsy signed to Atlantic Records USA & Warner Chappell. They toured the UK & states with their debut album & high energy live shows to great acclaim.Songs such as ‘Whatever it Takes‘, ‘Take This Old Heart‘, ‘From The Dirt‘ & ‘No Prize For the Loser‘ are still melodic rock classics to this day.Mitchell has sung for Rick Wakeman on the album ‘Return To The Centre Of The Earth‘ with Ozzy Ozbourne, Trevor Rabin etc. Sang & played guitar for Alice Cooper, Jon Anderson, Alan Parsons Project, Tony Hadley & It Bites, on the British Rock Symphony South American tour 2000 & singer/guitarist/songwriter for Stealers Wheel.He has spent years writing & recording for various bands, artists, TV & media, also releasing albums with Kingdom Of Deadmen, Boneyard Zombies & Pupetmaster & early solo albums.Mitchell was also the singer songwriter for Melodic Rock/AOR band Dirty White Boyz with their 2016 album release, ‘Down & Dirty‘ including the singles ‘All in the Name of Rock n Roll‘, ‘Hanging on a Heartache‘, ‘Ride With Angels‘ & ‘Dynamite‘.In 2018, Mitchell released his solo album ‘Beggars Gold‘ to rave reviews with dynamic tracks such as ‘Playing With Fire‘, ‘What You Make It‘ (featuring Dante Fox’s Sue Willetts), ‘Take A Look At Me Now‘, ‘Never Say Die’ & the poignant ‘Beggars Gold‘.2020 saw Mitchell release his most successful album to date, ‘Church of a Restless Soul‘ that featured the duet with Danny Vaughn, ‘Mighty Fall‘, the uplifting ‘Living On The Run‘, the heart wrenching ‘I Believe in Angels‘ & the ever catchy ‘Electric‘ to great acclaim.2021, just one year on, Tony Mitchell released his third solo album, ‘Hot Endless Summer Nights‘ which predominately had an 80’s retrowave flavor, based on the experiences he had in the USA in the late 80’s featuring the feel good ‘Hot Endless Summer Nights‘, the self biographical ‘Blame it on the Rock n Roll‘, ultra dynamic ballad ‘Strong Enough‘, the road anthem ‘Leave the World Behind’ to the futuristic ‘Neon Sky‘.

Initially planned as some bonus tracks for a new TONY MITCHELL solo album, the band is presented the CD “Unfinished Business“ of original material, just in time to celebrate the 30th Anniversary release of their Self-Titled “Kiss Of The Gypsy” major label debut on Atlantic Records.While frontman Tony Mitchell is now in the midst of a highly successful solo career, there was certainly Unfinished Business at hand with Kiss Of The Gypsy, and songs such as ‘Eye Of The Hurricane’, ‘Duty To Party’ and ‘Runaways’ sound like massive radio hits that fans of the first album will be over the moon for.Tony Mitchell released this CD under the KOTG moniker with his own name attached – ‘Tony Mitchell’s KISS OF THE GYPSY’ – to differentiate it from the original KOTG, which had a vastly different line up. But don’t worry, these are incredible musicians, and the band rocks!Mitchell was to include bonus tracks on his upcoming solo album that he had written as KOTG to include for a special edition release. What started off as possible bonuses for a Tony Mitchell solo CD, quickly turned into a full blown, long awaited Kiss Of The Gypsy album. And this Deluxe Edition includes 8 Extra Tracks.‘Sin City’ is another killer rocker of glorious proportions while ‘Time To Heal’ has a vibrant spiritual quality that is wondrous to behold. The concluding track ‘Wild Horses’ ‘is another standout with it’s thrilling “running wild, running free” lyrics rocking the listener into the stratosphere.Thirty years after the debut the time has come for new KISS OF THE GYPSY material. Musically some ideas go back to the early Nineties and the production is pleasantly old-school – think 1990-91 – with a current bright mastering.There might be more stuff in the future… Hope we hear a lot more from Mitchell’s Kiss Of The Gypsy soon.
