Metalwings is a bulgarian symphonic/gothic metal band formed in Sofia, Bulgaria. Metalwings was formed in 2010 when vocalist/viola player Stela Atanasova had an idea of a project for band that would play symphonic and melodic rock/metal with opera vocals. The idea combines sounds of female opera vocals, keyboards, electric viola and lots of power in the sound of drums, electric guitar and bass.The band become its real concert life in 2011 in lots of concerts and live shows in Bulgaria.Metalwings is so unique because of its own sound and specific elements in music. It combines lots of symphonic rock/metal, celtic elements, melodic and mystic music. In addition to this the music of Metalwings has the power of metal music and attract attention of the audience of its energy, strength and symphonic sound.

METALWINGS is a symphonic/gothic metal band from Bulgaria, which features the founder and the classically trained vocalist and songwriter Stela Atanasova in 2010.METALWINGS is an unqiue combination of angelic vocals, heavy guitars, powerful symphonic parts and the gentle sound of viola.For the last ten years the band has played on many gigs and participated in many festivals in Bulgaria.Now, METALWINGS will release their second studio album “A Whole New Land” on June 11, 2021.The album is mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios, Sweden. All Choir and orchestra arrangements by Stela Atanasova.The year 2010 saw the emergence of the Bulgarian band Metalwings, which was founded by vocalist Stela Atanasova and with her ideas she has led the band carefully building a still young musical career within symphonic metal with gothic touches, a subgenre currently worn out where something supernatural musically speaking is needed to get the recognition that bands like Nightwish, Epica, Sirenia and Leave's Eyes have had. Although currently the name Metalwings does not sound much in the media I think it is a band to take into account especially if you are one of those who like symphonic metal, because the musical quality they showed in their first album "For All Beyond" (2018) left a good taste in your mouth.Three years after that debut the band led by vocalist Stela Atanasova are back with a new production, which will be released this June 11th through an independent label, their second album is titled "A Whole New Land" a conceptual album both musically and lyrically, Each of the 11 songs is based on the necklace of life, each composition tells a different story of the life of a girl who set off in search of the lost land of her ancestors. It is a whole new land where once there was honour, dignity, beauty and strength, where there was peace and harmony. Love is the main theme of the songs, but specifically in more of the album's lyrics, Stela was not only referring to the love between two human beings, but rather to the love of life and how some people use the power they have to destroy life instead of creating and preserving it. With this album the Bulgarians intend to take a big step forward in development and have a great desire to present to the world a radically symphony-oriented musical concept. With their musical arrangements they want to show the world that there is always sunshine after the rain. Always after the apocalypse, there is salvation and understanding.
