Bio:

Romeo was a US melodic rock/AOR band that was active in the 90's.Members: David M. Fravel, Lenny Weber, Troy Lamey, Wes Kreitz...plus former Romeo drummer Don Hosler.First album "Romeo" (1993) and next "That New Romeo Album" (1996) + single with 3 tracks "Two Tears From A Broken Heart".Their albums are very rare and very hard to find for Your collection.

Don Hosler (former member) - drums - I was born March 29,1969 - practically with a drumstick in my hand. When I was 4 or 5 I completely devastated a toy drum kit and 3 years later after hearing the KISS Love Gun album I knew I wanted to approach drumming somewhat seriously. My story is fairly typical: my parents bought me a drum set, didn't figure it would last long. At 16 I was jamming with high school friends, playing an occasional gig here and there for gas money. When I was 20 I began playing night clubs on a regular basis, going from one band to the next for the next decade and earning my stripes from the school of hard knocks. I began collaborating on original songs in 1990 with guitarist Tom Eye in my first "serious" band HIGH VOLTAGE, and the results were songs like ONE WAY TICKET and COME & GET IT. Little did I know they would not be professionally recorded for another 11 years! It happened again in 1994, when I collaborated with RUNAWAY TRAIN vocalist/guitarist Bill Hunt on two of my song ideas - FISTFUL OF DREAMS and SOMEWHERE DOWN THE ROAD, both of which were actually released later that year. That was the last time any of my song ideas were either recorded or played in front of a live audience...until now.I guess songwriting was always an unrealized ambition for me, and over the years between 1994 and 2000 I dealt with the frustration of writing lyrics and melody ideas but not being able to put them to actual music without the aid of a guitarist. During this time the bands I played in (ROMEO, ASLAN, CHERRY PIE) were either cover bands or bands that had a primary songwriter and had no need for my "services." My lyrical stockpile escalated, as songs such as WILD OVER YOU, END OF LOVE'S RAINBOW, and later the monumental achievement - EVERY TIME YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES - were conceived. The latter was written in 1995 about a relationship I was in at the time, and the lyrics genuinely describe how I felt during that period. The relationship didn't last...the song did. I always knew it was a hit, and having to wait six years to record it was very difficult, as was the case with newer compositions such as VOICE OF REASON, BOARDWALK OF BROKEN DREAMS, and GIVE IT TO YA STRAIGHT.In early 2001, I re-sparked my alliance with TOM EYE and together we reworked ONE WAY TICKET and COME AND GET IT, the latter of which I wrote brand new lyrics for immediately. The next step was giving my two RUNAWAY TRAIN compositions a vocal and partial musical facelift to give the tunes the second chance they much deserve. Then the fun started...!

Album:

Very unknown gem, specially if you like ballads.1993 indie release from AOR/Melodic Rock Artists, "ROMEO," with their HOLY GRAIL "SELF-TITLED" CD.As all tru collector's know, this is the HOLY GRAIL CD of all AOR/Melodic Rock discs.Stunning keyboards, and vocals - amazing uptempo Melodic Rock that we all wish every CD would sound like. This CD was released in microscopic numbers. The only one that I have ever seen for sale sold a few months ago for $820.11 tracks of pure Melodic Rock bliss, combining rockers and ballads. HOLY GRAIL, STUNNING DISCOVERY! A true AOR treasure !Good decent album by this band...typical AOR with those catchy hooks...my 2 personal faves are "Another Night" & "Crazy"(great!) plus these others "Who's Gonna Save You Now","Can We Try It Again"(nice soft),"It Ain't Worth It" & "Rock Me All Day"(catchy)...good vocalist(David M Fravel)...fans of Da Vinci & early Return would love this surely.
