Female-fronted AOR / Melodic Rock from Germany.The German melodic rock band HEAT won a rock contest in 1992 and then went into the studio to record the songs for their debut album with the line-up Elke Klein (vocals), Lutz Korndörfer (keyboards), Torsten Weber (guitar), Marcus Rippl (bass) and Ralf Deutscher (drums).In 1993, the eponymous HEAT debut album was released on Rockwerk Records.

Album "Heat" originally released in 1993 through Rockwerk Records.If you are lucky to hunt this album down you will get finest melodicrock in the vain of Witness with just a bit hi-tech feel to it. Elke's voice is very good, the keys are exiting (think of the THE PROMISE e.g.), guitars are smokin' and groovin'. Hopefully it will be re-relased, that's what Lutz told me.The 11 songs offer musically refined melodic rock in the style of WITTNESS and HEART. But there are also parallels to TREAT, STRYPER and DREAMHUNTER. Shouter Elke Klein does an excellent job.Recommended tracks are ‘Crying’, ‘Never Say No’, ‘What About Love’ and ‘Raise Your Hands’.Unfortunately, after this good album, HEAT came to an end.The ‘Heat’ female melodic rock CD is highly sought after today and is awaiting re-release.
