Gun is a hard rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. They are best known for the song "Better Days" as well as their cover of Cameo's "Word Up!".Originally called Blind Allez, then for a short time 'Phobia', GUN were formed in 1987 by Giuliano Gizzi (guitar) and Cami Morlotti (bass), with Mark Rankin (vocals), Alan Thornton (drums) and David Aitken (guitar). Signed in 1988 by A&M Records the band line-up changed after Thornton, Morlotti and Aitken parted company with them and new recruits Dante Gizzi, Scott Shields and Baby Stafford joined.In the studio, Jim McDermott (Kevin McDermott Orchestra, Simple Minds and The Silencers), provided drums on the albums Taking On the World and Gallus. Debut album Taking On the World was also released this year.Rankin's cousin Sharleen Spiteri, of fellow Scottish band Texas and ex drummer Thornton contributed backing vocals to several songs on the album. The single "Better Days" from the album made the Top 40 in the UK Singles Chart.Gun toured the US and supported The Rolling Stones on their European Urban Jungle Tour of 1990. Tours with Bon Jovi and Def Leppard followed shortly after.October 2014 will see the release of a 25th anniversary of their first album Taking on the World. This is a 3 disc special edition release with b-sides, live tracks, and other songs for fans. In November 2014, Gun will play 3 consecutive sold out nights at King Tut's WahWah Hut in Glasgow. The first show will have the band playing their first album, "Taking On The World", in its entirety. The second night, they will play the album "Gallus". The third night, they will play the album "Swagger". Giuliano Gizzi thanked fans for their support and proceeds from the shows will provide a fantastic contribution to the Sunday Mail Centenary Fund.On 1 December 2014 the band announced on their website that new album Frantic would be released in the UK on 23 March 2015 in both physical and digital formats with various pre-order bonuses available before 1 February.

In 1989, Gun were taking on the world, and still are.Indeed, their album ‘Taking On The World’ really put Gun on the map. According to the band, thirty years ago their dream was simply to sign a record deal, release an album and maybe go on tour, no more than that.That’s the reason of “R3L0ADED”; their best shots into an album to say thanks to the fans and bring back some memories.“R3L0ADED” is presented as a double album with disc one featuring singles from the band’s seven albums including debut chart hit Better Days (1989), Steal Your Fire (1992), Don’t Say It’s Over (1994) and Favourite Pleasures (2017).Disc two is a collection of cover songs from the band’s favorites, which includes ‘Word Up by Cameo (1986)’, for which the band won the prestigious MTV Europe Music Award for Best Cover.Among others, Gun have recorded their own versions of ‘Every 1’s A Winner’ by Hot Chocolate (1978), ‘(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)’ by The Beastie Boys (1986), ‘Union City Blue’ by Blondie (1979), ‘Rock The Casbah by The Clash (1982)’, and more.All rockin’ with that special Gun touch and style.
