Formed in the summer of 2007, Tormenter are an aggressive and unapologetic heavy metal quintet from the heart of the San Gabriel Valley located just east of Los Angles, CA. Combining speed, ferocity, and melodicism, Tormenter has carved out a sound unique to themselves. Two and a half years of self-released material and aggressive live performances with national acts such as Exodus, Obituary, Destruction, and Ensiferum landed the group their first record deal with EBM Records.October of 2010 saw the release of Tormenter's full length label debut "Pulse of Terror". The album received generally favorable reviews from heavy metal critics. Performances with national acts D.R.i and Forbidden helped to push the release of "Pulse of Terror". By the fall of 2011, the band decided to take a hiatus from recording and live performances to sort out personal issues within the band.After a year away from the local metal scene, Tormenter began work on a follow up ep to their debut album. With a revitalized passion of their craft, Tormenter released their sophomore effort on EBM Records titled "Phantom Time". With six tracks of intense and powerful heavy metal that has come to be expected from the group "Phantom Time" was released in November of 2013. Adding small changes to their approach, "Phantom Time' has been able to stand out from previous Tormenter releases and has provided a more polished sound that has thus far been received extremely well amongst the heavy metal community. Supporting shows of D.R.I, Exhumed, Iron Reagan, and Exmortus have helped promote the new ep, while continuing to grow the bands fan base. With a busy live schedule approaching in 2014, Tormenter has already begun work on a full-length follow up to "Phantom Time" scheduled to be released in the second half of the year. Heavy Metal is in need of a kick in the ass and Tormenter is here to oblige.
