Bio:

Band from CA, United States, Skitzotik was formed in the summer of 1992 by Steve Wolfe, Mike Delmont, and Tony Siegel. They had been friends all throughout high school, and had been playing together for a number of years. The trio of musicians decided to form a band and auditioned for singer Ric Plamondon. In 1995 Skitzotik released his first eponymous album. The band starts making the second album "Prozac Cinema" but their label gives up. Skitzotik separates in 97. They released a self entitled debut album in 1995.Their efforts were met with a great deal of enthusiasm by the press and their fans. After doing well in Japan and many parts of europe as well as South America, Skitzotik went back into the studio to record their follow-up entitled "Prozac Cinema".Unfortunately, their record company decided that it was much more profitable to sell known hits, so they put all attention into selling tribute albums."Prozac Cinema" never saw the light of day.So it has been nearly fifteen years since some of the tracks featured here from the first album have been heard by anyone but a band member. And some tracks have never been heard by anyone but band members at all.

Album:

Another great band that came out in the midst of the grunge era and couldn't survive. It's a fantastic effort by these guys to. They sound like a mix of Skid Row and Dokken to me. Skitzotik released their first album in 1995.The band was warmly recieved by critics and fans.At one point,in Japan,Skitzotik was charting higher than the "Jagged Little Pill" album by Alaniss Morrisette;which was number one in the United States at the time.Skitzotik faded into obscurity when the "grunge" sound out of Seattle became popular.“The opening "King Of The Sky" is an excellent kick-start, driving, with fat guitars, great melodies and a brilliant vocal-performance by Ric Plamondon, a kick-start to an album that won't get boring throughout its entire length, but is oozing of energy and joy. ”.Definately an overlooked release.Skitzotik was formed in the summer of 1992 by Steve Wolfe, Mike Delmont, and Tony Siegel. They had been friends all throughout high school, and had been playing together for a number of years. At some point these three guys decided they needed to get serious and find a frontman/vocalist. Ric Plamondon came in for an audition one day and sang Skid Row's "Quicksand Jesus" like he had been doing it his whole life. The guys agreed that Ric should be the new singer. And so...Skitzotik was born. The songs were written as a team effort. Every player had input on every song. In 1995 Skitzotik released their self-titled debut album. It was very well recieved, and the guys made plans to follow it up with their second release,"Prozac Cinema". But alas...the winds of change came over the music industry, and their label decided to concentrate all their promotional efforts on tribute records. So the second Skitzotik album never was. It was recorded however! We have some songs posted here for your listening pleasure. If you like bands like Avenged Sevenfold,Godsmack...or classic metal like Iron Maiden, this is a band that will really get you off. You will also be able to find tracks at soundclick.com,dmusic.com,purevolume.com and several other sites. Unfortunately, the guys from Skitzotik went their separate ways in 1997, leaving behind a ravenous following in Japan,Germany,France and South America. It is my hope that by letting people hear what an incredibly talented group of musicians these guys were might encourage some sort of interest in their unreleased material.
