Nemesea is a Dutch alternative metal/alternative rock band, formed in September 2002 in Groningen, The Netherlands by vocalist Manda Ophuis and guitarist Hendrik Jan de Jong.Initially, Nemesea were a symphonic metal act, and were compared to Dutch compatriots After Forever.[1] However, since 2007's In Control, the band's music has become more rock-oriented, also incorporating strong electronic influences.In April 2003, Nemesea had their first performance as support act for After Forever, and remained that band's support for a year. They attracted record company interest and signed for the Dutch independent label Ebony Tears in November 2003.In November 2004, Nemesea released their debut album Mana, touring the Netherlands and Belgium until December 2005. By this time, they were well-established in the European gothic/symphonic metal scene.On January 28, 2016, the band posted the front cover of the album on their Facebook stating that it would be called Uprise and that it would be released on April 29, 2016.

Combining the finest rock licks with modern metal riffs and electronica to stir up a dark and strangely addictive brew ... Nemesea has fine-tuned the musical combination to perfection on their fifth album "White Flag". The guitars and Sanne Mieloo's outstanding vocals continue to be the driving force behind the band, which has several surefire hits up its sleeve. It's impossible to not be enthralled by the all-encompassing balance between driving rock and soothing ballads. This record offers intense and soulful alternative rock complete with a subtle breath of goth and loudly demands the attention the band undoubtedly deserves. "White Flag" is a gem that reveals its many-splendored colors more and more each time you press play!
