AWAKEN was formed in 2009 by vocalist Glenn DaGrossa, founding member and chief songwriter. Awaken was signed to Mausoleum Records in June 2012 and released their self titled CD worldwide in November of the same year. Awaken is a Power/Progressive Metal band that Kerrang! magazine hailed as “one of the quintessential metal bands of our time.” With DaGrossa's soaring vocals and stellar song craftsmanship, blazing Guitar solos featuring Eric Gillette, powerful rhythm section of Bassist Eddie Jucius and Drummer Mike Marrone, and the addition of Keyboardist Andrew Colyer, Awaken has created 90 minutes of cinematic, melodic metal masterpiece.With considerable national and international touring and recording experience under their collective belts, AWAKEN is primed for the world stage, ready to lead and redefine the lines of Progressive Metal. 2019 Begins with the limited release of The new Double CD entitled " Out Of The Shadows " as Awaken searches for a new label to call home. This sophomore release is buzzing through out the metal community as one of the most anticipated metal albums. The new Double CD will feature Guitarist Eric Gillette from the Neil Morse Band and world renown percussionist Gumbi Ortiz from Al Dimeola band. On stage, Awaken has become one of the most sought after supporting acts on tour. Awaken joined the sold out Xfinity Tour supporting legendary rockers Uriah Heep and also supported Major Label acts such as Queensryche, Fates Warning, Kamelot, Adrenaline Mob, Dokken, Winger, Finntroll, UFO, Pain of Salvation, Jeff Scott Soto just to name a few.

Mausoleum Records Power / Progressive Metal Band Awaken is set to record the follow up to the self titled debut. The band which has toured extensively promoting the debut CD which was released in 2012 to positive reviews in over 100 countries, have toured with Fates Warning, UFO, Saxon, Pain of Salvation, Michael Schenker and most recently a sold out tour with Uriah Heep.The new CD entitled Out of the Shadows will contain more than 70 minutes of music as well as a music video and behind the scenes video documenting the making of the CD which will be available for download. Lead singer Glenn DaGrossa who composed all the music and did the CD artwork admits this CD will be “heavier and more progressive” than the last.The CD will feature new band members as well. Drummer Mike Marrone, Lead Guitarists Patrick Reilly and Scott Bennett and Bassist Eddie Jucius will be supporting Dagrossa on this new effort. Dagrossa continues, ” this new Awaken line up of musicians is the key to the sound of the band.”I wanted a more aggressive punch to the band but that also had the progressive / melodic edge we are known for”. The band begins recording next month and is slated to release the new effort late this year.
