From Heaven And Hell Records and the streets of Minneapolis, Minnesota, come Wyzdom. Arising from the ashes of the Russ Erickson Band, Mark Nesser, the vocalist/keyboardist had a concept for a band that would be a band with music based on mysticism and the occult. This band transitioned through many line-up changes over the next decade with Mark Nesser and guitarist Dave Sanborn being the longest attending members. Over the years the band has penned well over 100 different songs. These would include a 2-song 7” single, a full-length album, an unreleased EP, and three additional unreleased albums.Coming into the year 1988 the Wyzdom line-up would consist of Mark Nesser and Dave Sanborn. In the rhythm section, Rick Kremer pulling on the bass strings and to round it out Kevin Chambers would sit behind the drums. That was the year the band decided to record a new (then) album called Through The Looking Glass. The album’s release would soon be followed up by several live shows along with some radio airplay. The fanfare around this album would create a buzz that would soon attract some label interest. Even with the street creds and feedback from fans, that elusive record deal still wouldn’t come to fruition for the band. Frustrations would definitely be abound with the guys.Even with the troubles Wyzdom continued to trudge along and in time seeing even more personnel and line-up changes. This prompted the band to try and change its name to Wild Child for a brief time, until the frustrations, trials, and tribulations finally came to a head, causing the band to finally call it quits and close the book on Wyzdom. Although the band was officially over, Wyzdom would go on to almost a cult-like following, garnering attention in underground markets and in the conversations of music lovers around the world. Although little was actually known about the band as far as its history and those elusive unknown and unreleased albums. This isn’t something that could be contained in today’s day and age, that’s for sure!!

I love the fact that even today, I can discover old music as it is being reissued, remastered, and reborn for a whole new generation to enjoy once again. Sometimes it can literally breathe new life into a defunct band, or can literally resurrect them from the dead files. I’d classify this as one that is long overdue for a breath of fresh air!To the fans of Wyzdom, the long wait is finally over on May 19th, 2019. Finally hitting the ears of the fans old & new will be a fully remastered 15 track version of, Through The Looking Glass in its full splendor. Either available in a digital form or if you’re old school like me, a Compact Disk is also available for pre-order (see the link below!) Although this writer (and listener) hasn’t heard the full 15 tracks, I can listen, and at least tell you about the 10 digital tracks available now.
