Bio:

The Scream was a Los Angeles-based hard rock band formed in 1989 as Saints Or Sinners. The band originally featured former Angora singer John Corabi and former Racer X members guitarist Bruce Bouillet, bassist Juan Alderete, and drummer Scott Travis. However, Scott Travis quickly left to join Judas Priest, and was replaced by former Shark Island drummer Walt Woodward III. Scott Travis co-wrote "I Don't Care" on Let It Scream, though he didn't actually play on the album. They changed their name from Saints Or Sinners to The Scream shortly after Walt Woodward III replaced Scott Travis. Many of the songs on their 1991 debut Let It Scream were performed by the band in concert before the album was ever recorded. After releasing their 1991 debut Let It Scream on Hollywood Records, which included the single "I Believe in Me," Corabi left the band to replace the recently departed Vince Neil in Mötley Crüe. The Scream then recruited former Dashboard Mary singer Billy Fogarty and recorded their second album, Takin' It To The Next Level, but were dropped from the record label before the album could be released. The Scream split up and Fogarty, Bouillet and Alderete went on to form a brief musical project with John Moore and drummer Abe Laboriel, Jr. called DC-10, which recorded and released the album Co-Burn.John Corabi joined Mötley Crüe after Vince Neil's departure and recorded the self-titled 1994 album with the band. However, poor sales and inadequate tour support resulted in Vince Neil's return to the band. Corabi has played in many bands since, including Ratt, Union and E.S.P., a covers band with other big names Eric Singer, Bruce Kulick, Chuck Garrick and Karl Cochran (often performing many songs from the various members well known bands). Since February 2015, John has joined The Dead Daisies with which he has recorded 2 studio albums (Revolución in 2015, and Make Some Noise in 2016).Walt Woodward III died on June 8, 2010 of alcohol poisoning.

Album:

Now Rock Candy Records not only did their own fresh 2018 remaster work, but also made the album "Let It Scream [Rock Candy remaster +6]" available again after many time out of print, and with the addition of 6 bonus tracks. This is a really welcomed reissue of this, The Scream's only album "Let It Scream", a record that flew under the radar when it was first released, but has subsequently become one of the most respected and revered releases from the early '90s.It represented a high point for blistering blues-based hard rock, akin Badlands (Ray Gillen guest backing vocals), Cinderella, Aerosmith, etc. But as we know, grunge engulfed them and others but at least they didn't go down without a fight."Let It Scream" was recorded in L.A., the result of an experienced line up that featured former members of Racer X and Americade, fronted by former Angora singer John Corabi. The band attracted the interest of a few labels and eventually signed with the newly-formed Hollywood Records (funded by Disney).Produced by industry legend Eddie Kramer (Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Fastway) and originally issued in 1991, the album is a riot of riffs and thrills, with Corabi surrounded by the sort of thunderous mayhem that wouldn't sound out of place on an Aerosmith, Cinderella or Skid Row record.Although the album failed to sell well it did turn heads, not least of all Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe who, the very day that Vince Neil had left the band, placed a fateful call to Corabi encouraging him to audition as his replacement. Not unexpectedly he accepted the offer, leaving behind an impressive legacy before moving on to other projects, and eventually to join the The Dead Daisies where he currently sings. As bonus tracks we have a bunch of live tracks recorded at The Marquee Club in LA, the last show The Scream ever played prior to Corabi joining Motley Crue. These songs were put on CDr & released by Corabi himself via his website years ago (500 copies only), and the sound quality is very good. This Rock Candy remastering job is more punchy than the previously featured at 0dayrox, yet not saturated which is really welcomed to appreciate "Let It Scream" varied atmospheres.
