Founded in Madrid during 2010, that very same year they uploaded to the Internet some self-produced songs, which helped them to gain certain initial recognition and get growing support from the audience that joined them along the subsequent shows.In 2012, the band released their debut CD, a 6 tracks EP called "Revolution has begun” that was their cover letter until the present day.The Darkblazers formation is comprised of guitar player Ángel Fernández and the founder vocalist, César Yepes - both main songwriters and developers of this particular idea-, joined little by little by pro-musicians as Jonathan Hall (keyboard player - videogame music composer) and the sensational, renowned Belgian drummer Johan Nuñez (Marty Friedman, Firewind, Gus G.Some started to refer to this unclassifiable style with its own term: ‘Mutant Metal’ (due to its ever-changing tendencies together with the charm of pop-culture idea of mutants and mutations).‘Mutant Metal’ has never meant to define an “original” or never-listened-before musical style. It is rather the proud acceptance of the most diverse 80’s and 90’s musical references (those who made them sing along and love music), mixed up with modern rock/metal standpoint.All this is expressed by a very clear and simple motto: “‘Make it fun!”. After years spent in preparing and recording their upcoming LP "MUTANT ANTHEMS", mixed and produced in New Life Studios, joined by many guest musicians and mastered by Mika Jussila, Darkblazers prepare their next onslaught in 2017 with a high quality album and a powerful live show as weapons of choice.With the clear purpose of giving it their best try to reach as much ears as they can with their anthemic powerful music, Darkblazers has just charged the laser guns and are aiming at the main rock and metal audiences.As in the greatest action movies, cartoons & videogames, you can join ‘em and see what comes out from this fierce battle!

From Madrid comes the latest work of Darkblazers titled "Mutant Anthems", intro and ten tracks in which you can enjoy the good work of these metal mutants.The album begins with a brief intro in which the howling of wolves gives way to "Garou - The Hangry Wolf", a song that is close to six minutes long, in which we find different styles and nuances that clearly show the potential of this band. Guitar riffs with all the strength of heavy metal, an accelerated rhythmic base in the style of German power metal and interludes and keyboards that open new horizons towards more progressive places. Next, "Revolution has begun", taken from their first Ep, is more melodic, a song that is easy to get into from the first listen, with a chanting chorus and deserving guitar solos.We continue with "The Mutant Anthem", a complex song in its structure and difficult to describe, the best thing to do is to listen to it because it will surely not leave you indifferent. In it you will find among other things, touches of electronic music, thrash metal style riffs, aggressive vocals, Arabic melodies and even a synthesizer solo. "Appearance Is Deceiving" is a slower song with a more classic structure, César Yepes gives it all on vocals, the band shows us their most melodic side in the chorus with a good keyboard cushion and a guitar solo with "Satrianistic" influences.The sound is intensified again at the beginning of "Faling Star", with a choppy and hypnotic rhythm that will be the base where the theme is sustained, it is softened later in the chorus with the contribution of keyboards and choirs, until we find an unimaginable piano part at the beginning of the theme, surprising and complex composition."Angelcider" another of the demure songs of their beginnings, is a long song that exceeds six and a half minutes in length, it begins with an intro by Jonathan, and then the rest of the band enters performing a choppy rhythm that will be the basis of this complex song full of nuances, we find again a melodic chorus and different progressive touches that enrich the sonority of the song. "Staring At The Sun" is the quietest song on the album, it starts as a typical ballad with vocals and keyboard, to gain intensity and identity, thanks to the solos and the different registers of César on vocals.Already in the final stretch with "Arcadeborn" and "Stargazer" we recover the most power metal facet of the band, songs with a clear influence of the Germans Rage, rhythmic base at full throttle where we find the drummer Johan Núñez (Marty Friedman, Firewind, Gus G) at his best. Tracks full of strength and energy, ideal to play live and turn any concert hall upside down. And finally we find the surprising "Unequal Ways / Symmetric Souls", the longest track on the album at seven minutes long, which shows us a more rocking and festive side of the band that we hadn't seen until now and which certifies the amount of registers that these musicians are capable of covering.In short, an album that is worth listening to calmly, that sounds great, and in which you will be able to enjoy the compositional skills of these musicians, who will surely satisfy many of the followers of metal in any of its variants.
