Bio:

Crashdïet (often stylized as CRASHDÏET) are a Swedish glam metal band from Stockholm. They have released four albums: 2005's Rest in Sleaze, 2007's The Unattractive Revolution, 2010s Generation Wild and 2013's The Savage Playground...The band was originally formed in 2000. Taking influence from Kiss, Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, Guns N' Roses, and Hanoi Rocks, Crashdïet built up a cult following with the release of their first demos, several of which were released on their official website via download. In 2002, the band split up, and vocalist Dave Lepard reformed the band with members from the current lineup, while the old members went to play in Repugnant and SubVision. In 2003 Crashdiet released their first self-titled EP, though only 500 copies were pressed. In 2004 they got signed to Universal Records after people in the staff saw the band drinking outside a liquor store and was impressed by their Rock n' Roll image

Album:

Swedish sleaze kings CRASHDIET have been pretty quiet for the last 3 years, but the band is back in full force with new singer and new album next year. And they have announced the re-release of their second album on vinyl LP under the title "The Unattractive Revolution [10th Anniversary Edition +1]".Dïet Records‘ press release states: CRASHDIET is back with a new single to be released on new year's eve. In all this excitement about the future, it’s still worth to take a look back. After all, it was 10 years ago we released 'The Unattractive Revolution' – an album that is loved by many – while at the same time has been kind of overlooked by us through out the years. Probably due to the internal struggles we had, as a band, at the time it was released. It truly is a great album, and we’ve worked together with Universal Records to make a vinyl release happen. And it just did! - said guitarist Martin Sweet.Obviously it’s a little bit different to release a vinyl through the big Universal-machine compared to when you D.I.Y. This is a worldwide release – on colored vinyl – and it will probably be available in your local record store too (if you still have any ."The Unattractive Revolution" is the band's second album, recorded after after the death of singer Dave Lepard. While some people were skeptical if these guys could manage to deliver an album close to the standard of 2005’s glorious Rest In Sleaze without their main songwriter, I was simply happy that they got through the hard times and got on with the band. First off, you can’t deny the great songwriting by the boys; every song has killer riffs and hooks which make them standout. “In The Raw” starts thing off in true CRASHDIET style with riveting hooks, great catchy chords and the vocals of newcomer Olliver Twisted being a little raspy but fitting perfectly in the band's mold. The boys still hold tight with the fantastic harmonies which are a key element to success.“Like A Sin” keeps the ball rolling as they kick it up a notch driving home another fierce shredding tune, the song just elevates and the chorus is outstanding, Martin goes off the hook. The anthemic “Falling Rain” is a highlight, and should have been huge in Rock radio. It rocks hard yet has a softer side of melodic rhythms. Twisted does one helluva job which is not easy trying to win over CRASHDIET fans and this is just one example of great musicians collaborating in harmony. When all members hook up with the harmonies and background vocals throughout the CD, this makes the songs run smooth and you can hear the excitement on “Alone” that also features Mick Mars from MÖTLEY CRUE. “Alone” is not your typical style CRASHDÏET power tune, its more melodic yet still adds the power of Mars guitar which makes the song heavier. If I had to give a comparison of Ollie’s voice, I would say he’s on the same wave as Joe Elliot.“XTC Overdrive” is one of those arena songs that will have crowd participation and is another high profile tune that rocks your socks off.“Overnight” is one of these often called 'inside tracks', but for me is one of the best. It has a little DEF LEPPARD feel over the melody and the way the hook and harmony vocals are arranged. Great song. This "The Unattractive Revolution [10th Anniversary Edition +1]" features the previously unreleased track, another riff-tastic rocker with a strong melody. This is a killer rocking record with bright punchy sound & production, more 'hard rock' than sleaze than CRASHDIET's previous album, and this reissue is more than welcomed to re-discover this piece of pure Swedish-sounding stuff
