Cold Truth is a four piece power blues rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. The band's 2008 release "Do Whatcha Do" is the follow-up to their 2003 self-titled debut, both of which have received outstandings reviews from rock critics worldwide. The raw and gritty sounds of "Do Whatcha Do" are reminiscent of the cutting edge, in your face, rock from the 1970s. The band stays true to their roots and their own musical influences, but the flare and talent of these four guys is hands down classic rock at its finest.Produced by Michael St. Leon at Switchyard Studios in Nashville, "Do Whatcha Do" is influenced by southern and classic rock. The distinct sound of Cold Truth can be traced back to its very principal foundation. All four band members are long-time friends who have been masters of their trade since youth. Their music tells the story of life experiences and displays a collection of songs written with guts and feeling. The cast has evolved over the years with Kurt and Matt playing together since 1989. Thane joined the two in 1992 and Abe joined the three in 2000 to form Cold Truth. Their friendship and mutual love of good music has paved the way for some pretty heavy song writing. Says guitarist Kurt Menck, "we write a song with a certain feeling in mind, then we listen back and get that feeling we were imagining." Together, the band's studio albums and live performance makes a statement of musical freedom with no boundaries or limits. To quote one music critic "Cold Truth is one of the greatest modern classic rock bands in the world today." Another reviewer states "The music of Cold Truth is guranteed to make you believe in the healing powers of rock and roll once again." The bands third album is scheduled for release in the spring of 2014.

Cold Truth is four heavy rockers from Nashville, Tennessee. They describe their style as rock from the 70's, a raw sound and pure rock and roll with the objective to remain near their roots and to create one's own sound with their edgy riffs and authentic blues.In 2003, their first album Cold Truth came out and then in 2008. Do Whatcha Do to her international breakthrough. And now, eight years after their last album, the long awaited third album Grindstone is that once produced and included in their own city Nashville.From the beginning (2000) the band has the same line-up: Kurt Menck on guitar, Abe White on bass, Matt Green on drums and Thane Shearon as lead vocalist and guitarist. The band is inspired by the British hard rock scene from the 70's and Shearons voice is similar to that of Paul Rodgers (Bad Company, among others). Also you can hear influences from Whitesnake and Humble Pie, and of course you recognize the Southern rock of Lynyrd Skynyrd. But despite all these influences Cold Truth has a very unique sound knowledge to create one and would prevent them surely among all these famous names in the 70's.Grindstone start livin 'Hard which immediately sets the tone for the rest of the album: simple and straight-ahead rock and roll! Where The Music Takes Me is really a song that makes you enthusiastic because you can find it. '' I wanna go where the music takes me. "" Who would not want that? The most famous song from the album No Sleep 'Til Sturgis which hint at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Then there are some rock songs (all written by Menck and Shearon), but the album ends with the two ballads Give It Time and Free Man with Bekka Bramlett as guest vocalist. This brings a wonderful end to this dynamic album.Grindstone is summed up in one word a good album. It's simple, but it rocks! The only downside is that it might be a bit too easy at times. The intros to build something you do not hear, so you sometimes have the feeling that there is a missing element. But the point of Cold Truth is right to keep their music simple and to the point, so in that respect is that they managed fine. This album is a perfect embodiment of the band name; it's the Cold Truth of rock and roll!
