Johnny’s singing career started off with a bang back in 1977 as he honed his chops and talents for 6 years playing small California Bay Area clubs and jam nights. There was never a lack of great musicians to play with, but finding the perfect fit in a band lineup was elusive. He continued many years like this until a night in 1982 when his current band co-headlined a show with a band called Air Raid. He remembered saying to himself, “That's the band I wanna be in.”, especially when he saw their guitarist Tommy Merry play! They met after the show and instantly clicked.After that meeting, they formed several great projects, Air Raid and White Lie, as well as writing a number of songs together. But as time went on, they went their separate ways musically. Johnny fronting the band “Black Tiger” with Joey Alves and Leonard Haze from Y&T, and Tommy with his own successful instrumental band, then finally moving on to play guitar for Gamma, after Ronnie Montrose’s passing.Johnny and Tommy had remained best friends for decades. Then as Johnny began writing material for his first solo album, after a few speed bumps in judgement, he contacted his old bandmate for help with his new album. After a phone call and plea, Tommy agreed to produce it without even hearing a song. A testament to their bond, and mutual respect as artists, and friends.Following six long months of writing, pre-production, rehearsing, recording, and producing, the dynamic album, “O’Deacious Rising” was ready for the world to experience. With 10 Off-the-Hook songs, anthems and ballads, it contains everything a die-hard rock fan would want to hear!Johnny credits many with thanks and inspirations, but with too many to mention. The people he acknowledges most are the ones who inspired these songs past and present; his Beautiful wife Cristina, Tommy Merry and his wife Sharon who's contributions are ever so present on this musical treasure and imprinted on his Heart and Soul Forever !!
