BBXF is a mix between Hard Rock, Alt-rock, Grunge/Post-Grunge Rock with a melody driven acoustic feel...BBXF is a Savannah based alternative rock band. Kevin(vocals), Kirk(guitar), Stephen(bass) and Zack(guitar) played music with each other or at least were friends as far back as grade school. Kevin, Stephen and Kirk then met James(drums) while in college at Armstrong State University and started a band in 2011. Zack would later join them after he moved back from Las Vegas in 2013. For a couple years, BBXF would play shows around the Savannah area playing cover songs from their favorite bands such as Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Silverchair, Incubus, ect...... In 2013 they joined The Battle of the Bands hosted by 106.1 in Savannah. This inspired them to write their own music since cover songs are frowned upon in such events. In that four week long event they wrote and performed four brand new songs and won the contest which would give them free studio time. Since then the band has been writing and recording new music at Hybrid Audio Solutions in Charleston, SC. The style of music on the record is a spawn between their interest in early 90's grunge, psychedelic rock such as Pink Floyd and new age hard rock. BBXF will be releasing their first album in the fall of 2015.
SAVANNAH band BBXF (Big Big Xtra Face) has been heading up the road to Charleston for a good while to work on their 10-song album, Parallel Points of View. They'll celebrate the official album release on Friday.Comprised of vocalist Kevin Sorrells, bassist Stephen Lea, drummer James Lettera, guitarist Kirk McElveen and guitarist Zach Towns, the band gleans a lot of influence from the flannel-clad bands of the ‘90s like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and Deftones; expect thick distortion, heavy riffs, big drums, and Sorrells’ huge, rock-radio-ready vocals.Locals Broken Glow and Rottenblush join in the fun. Look for a celebration of the bluesy, grungy rock ‘n’ roll of Broken Glow in 2016, too: they’re releasing an album of their own, Filament, in the coming months.
