Lynch Mob is an American Hard Rock band featuring former Dokken guitarist George Lynch, who has been the band's only permanent member.Lynch Mob was formed in 1989, from the remains of Lynch's former band, Dokken. The band original line-up also features Dokken's drummer, Mick Brown. The first Lynch Mob album was released in 1990, titled Wicked Sensation, and it is highly regarded as the group's best work.Many feel that songs such as the title track, "River of Love," "She's Evil But She's Mine," and "For a Million Years" would have done very well in the 80's hair metal scene. However, with the waning popularity of "hair metal," the album didn't make much of an impact but reached gold status in the United States. Vocalist Oni Logan was fired shortly after the tour, as his life style had negatively impacted his ability to perform. But accordingly to a Rockshowmagazine interview with former bassist Anthony Esposito he explained that since Logan wasn't a great performer live Lynch decided to go with a different singer on their follow up, self-titled album.The next album Lynch Mob (released in 1992), which fared even worse upon its release due to the explosion of grunge. The album sported many great rock anthems such as "Tangled in the Web" and a cover of Queen's Tie Your Mother Down. Despite attempts to re-unite with Oni Logan, the album features the vocals of new vocalist Robert Mason.Lynch Mob disbanded after the tour for the album and in 1995, Lynch and drummer Mick Brown reunited with Dokken.

Formed by guitar wizard George Lynch after his departure from Dokken., this Lynch Mob debut is without a doubt one of the greatest Hard Rock albums from the 1987-1992 golden period.A top notch sounding CD with a great booklet story about the genesis of the band / album plus rare photos.It was hardly a surprise when Lynch announced his departure from Dokken, the band he’d enjoyed enormous success with during the eighties. The fact that Don Dokken and George Lynch were at loggerheads for much of that time was no secret, so the split was, in many respects, inevitable.For George it was a chance to strike out on his own, assembling a handpicked unit that retained the services of fellow Dokken drummer Mick Brown with the addition of bassist Anthony Esposito and the then largely unknown, but super talented, vocalist Oni Logan.Dubbed, rather amusingly, Lynch Mob, the band were signed by Elektra Records who were hoping to benefit from Lynch’s platinum success with Dokken. Produced by the great Max Norman (Ozzy Osbourne, Y&T) and recorded in Los Angeles, the music was a combustible mixture of bluesy based hard rock with a searing metallic edge, allowing George Lynch to fly off the handle with amazing guitar pyrotechnics at every available opportunity.It also showcased Oni Logan’s incredibly mature sounding voice to maximum effect. Think Coverdale, Ronnie James Dio and Tom Keifer.Containing twelve tracks that have stood the test of time with flying colours, the music is full-tilt in your face hard rock, spearheaded by tracks such as “River Of Love”, “Sweet Sister Mercy” and “She’s Evil But She’s Mine”.Best of all, it is the title track that really defines the band’s sound, a howling thunderclap of noise with a one in a million hook that takes no prisoners.I always loved “Wicked Sensation”. It’s that kind of Hard Rock with emotion that catches you from the guts, highly melodic but with a ballsy kick.The recording & production are extremely polished, and with this remaster every instrument sound even more bright, with a deep bottom end.As said, “Wicked Sensation” is one of the best albums from the era, a must have indeed.
