Bio:

SinHeresY is a symphonic heavy metal band raised in 2009 in Trieste (Italy) from an idea of the bass player Davide Sportiello and the guitar player Lorenzo Pasutto. In the following months the vocalist Cecilia Petrini, the drummer Alex Vescovi and the vocalist Stefano Sain joined the band. With this line-up, SinHeresY started in 2010 their live activity in Italy and Slovenia and realized a home-made demo containing two original songs. Then the band beginned the compositions of new songs, with dark symphonic tones and gothic-prog touches, and SinHeresY entered Studio 73 in Ravenna. They committed themselves to Riccardo Pasini (already working with Extrema, Ephel Duath, BeerBong) for the recordering of their official debut EP "The Spiders And The Butterfly".In October the band signed a distribution contract with the label Revalve Records and a management deal with K2 Music Management. At the same time the keyboard player Daniele Girardelli joined the band, thus completing the line-up."The Spiders And The Butterfly" gained immediately general approval from critics and public. It was elected best demo of the month by the prestigious italian Metal Maniac magazine. In February 2012 SinHeresY shot the official video of "Temptation Flame", under the direction of Marco Tessarolo and Mario Orman, and the lyric video of "Forever Us", also directed by Mario Orman. In April the band opened in Trieste the first gig of Seventh Wonder's italian tour.In the meanwhile they started the composition of the songs of their first full-length. For the new album they decided to underline the "cinematic" side of the band, tuning down the dark components which characterized the previous release in favour of a wider variety of atmospheres and themes, with a costant development of a personal and more mature sound. With this aim they called the composer and arranger Lorenzo Visintin, who wrote the orchestral tessitura of the songs. At the end of the pre-production phase, in January 2013 the band started a mini-tour as headliners across the baltic nations, where the new songs, presented for the first time, were welcomed with excellent opinions. In June of the same year the band revealed the title of the album, "Paint the World", and signed with Bakerteam Records for its release, scheduled for September 30th. The full-length was recorded between Ravenna's Fear Studio (Blaze Bayley, DGM) and Studio 73, and Trieste's Fandango Sound Studio and Urban Recording Studio. Then the album was mixed and mastered in Sweden, at Varberg's Fascination Street Studios, by Johan Örnborg and Jens Bogren (Soilwork, Amon Amarth, Opeth, Paradise Lost)."Paint the World" was praised as "one of the best symphonic power/gothic metal releases of 2013" and the band promoted it with several live performances all around Italy and Europe. Starting from an incredibly successful release-party in their hometown, SinHeresY then played in a special acoustic set as opening act for Anathema, and in the following months they supported other leading bands in the genre such us Secret Sphere, Almah (band of Edu Falaschi, formerly singer of Angra) and Dark Moor.In summer 2014, with the strengthened direction of Mario Orman, the official videoclip of "Break Point" came out. SinHeresY crowned the brilliant concert season performing their songs in one of the most beautiful squares in Trieste with a real symphonic orchestra of young talents and participating to the XX Agglutination Metal Fest, the biggest metal festival in southern Italy. In January 2015 the band is confirmed as support act for the European tour of Lordi. The tour visited 8 countries and 22 cities and allowed SinHeresY to perform in prestigious live clubs like Alcatraz in Milan, Batschkapp in Frankfurt and Backstage in Monaco. In July the videoclip of "Paint the World" came out as second single hit and the band supported Queensryche and Dream Theater in the setting of Pistoia Blues Festival. Last but not least the band toured Europe as main support for the amazing Tarja Turunen and her "Shadow Shows" in Autumn 2016.The composition side is not left apart! - the band has worked hard on new material and the brand new album, "Domino", will be released on April 7th 2017 via Scarlet Records!

Album:

On the strength of their 2013 debut album, Paint The World, Sinheresy has found both success and recognition in the European metal theater. Enough so, they were able to open for Secret Sphere, Almah, Dream Theater, Lordi's extensive 2015 tour, and more recently supporting Tarja Turunen. Four years on, Sinheresy arrives with their second long player, Domino. To be matter of fact, Domino is one of those records that, when you listen to the first song, you pretty much know what you're going to hear across the entire album. While you will notice some variation between and within songs, the Sinheresy formula consists of some basic elements. One is the abundance of heavy to coarse riffage, giving the band a modern metal sound. When the riffage is combined with thick d-tuned rhythm section, the pair become the dominant sound. Another element is the substantial keyboard layer which swings between simple piano to symphonic lushness to swirling synth quirkiness. That trio of elements essentially informs every song, and so makes every song sound like the next, falling like so many dominoes. You're hard pressed to catch a guitar solo, but they are there, as within Star Dome, Under Your Skin, and Without A Reason, but you have to listen carefully. Otherwise the crush of riffage, rhythm, and synths will distract you. Those same things nearly crush the vocals and vocal arrangements. The lead vocals are female, then paired at times with male vocals. With the former vocals, Ms Petrini sings clean and sweetly; for the male vocals, Stefano Sain can add harmony, but singing leads he seems to struggle. Mostly Sain is charged with modern metal vocal multitasking: harmony first, then adding gruff vocals and something that sounds like heavy metal rapping as within My Only Faith. Basically, because of the music arrangements (and likely also singing in the non-native English), you can't understand them. You'll need the lyric sheets, which did not come with my electronic press kit. With two spins of Domino, my conclusion came quickly. I found the album predictable, and so rather tiring. Honestly, I'm not sure Sinheresy is doing anything new, better, or different than their past music or other bands. But you may feel differently, and their success continues, which is saying something. Check out the video below.

Album:

Out of Connection is the third album of the Italian melodic modern metal band SinHeresY. The successor of ‘Domino’ follows up the musical evolution of the four-piece lead by the unique vocals blend of Cecilia Petrini and Stefano Sain, bringing it to a whole new level. An album that pushes the listener into a journey about who we are as human beings in the social network era and how our digital persona can overcome our true self.It will be released on July 26th 2019 via Scarlet Records.Mixing groovy riffs, electronica and some good old-fashioned heavy metal head-banging hooks; Out of Connection is all about relevancy. Not just with the theme of the album (although it is very much on point) but with a style that is very in vogue at the moment.Energetic guitar groove, a thumping drum beat and a duel vocal performance that mixes the sound up. What Makes Us Human is a solid if unexciting start. Although a breakdown in the latter half does perk the ears up.The title track is heavy on the electronica, almost rave like bursts while the female side of the vocals lead us through the haze. Not a great track unfortunately but Zero One corrects that with a return to the faster paced and higher energy stuff. On the right track now, at least for catchiness, the next handful of tracks don’t make any major changes to the established formula. Although the added intensity that crops up in Facts, Words, Sand, Stone and the wickedly fun chorus of Immortals are worth mentioning. The pit opens up a bit as Break the Surface heats up with powerful groove and the vocals really duelling it out. Whereas Shallow and Blood Like Water keep things on the path SinHeresY set out from the start, ending with The Circle. The longest track on the album, it blends everything we’ve come to expect from the band. Electronica effects, subtly and power in the vocals, deep guitar groove and an underlying catchiness that sticks in the brain matter.

Album:

SINHERESY hailing from Trieste, Italy were formed in 2009. The melodic Metal outfit released one EP and three full-length albums so far. Joest van den Broek (BLIND GUARDIAN; EPICA; POWERWOLF) produced album number four, and it has a length of about 36 minutes. “Event Horizon” was released via Italian label Scarlet Records, which has many Power, Thrash, and melodic Metal bands among their current roster. The album starts strongly with powerful guitar riffing at mid-tempo. “The Calling” is a dynamic song with catchy melodies and riffs. Both vocalists, Stefano Sain and Cecilia Petrini, share the duties on this track, where the female vocals take over during the chorus parts. Both male and female vocals are around the medium end of the vocal range, with a few tonal shifts towards higher notes.“The Calling” is a heavy opener, most notably during the break for the lead guitar solo, where a lot of double-bass drumming is added. “Black Spirit” slows a bit down in terms of tempo and heaviness. While the opening riffs are powerful, heaviness is eased off during the verse parts. The vocals are collaborative effort of both vocalists, and their contribution is the highlight of the track. “The Life You Left Behind” is introduced by the guitar melodies, which are the basis for the melodic framework of the track. It is an easy-to-listen-track with catchy melodies. The vocals are predominantly the female voice of Cecilia Petrini, while the male vocals support in the background. Highlight of the track is the extended lead guitar solo as it adds some heaviness to the track. “Castaways” is heavier than the preceding track at least at the beginning with powerful riffing. The riffing for the verse parts is tight, but altogether, it is another catchy track during the verse and chorus parts. The break, on the other hand, is super heavy and acts almost like a contra point to the rest of the track. The guitar melodies have a few oriental vibes. “Castaways” is the official video release, and the YouTube link is provided below.“Brighter Days” is the first song at a slow tempo. Things become quieter which is notable already from the first guitar note onwards. The vocals are shared between both vocalists equally, where this ballad-esque song works more towards the vocal strengths of Stefano Sain. “Brighter Days” is a very short song, which is a bit unusual for a slow song. The relatively abrupt end came a bit as a surprise to me. “(R)evolution” turns up the heat and heaviness with thunderous riffing. Cecilia Petrini, predominantly performs the vocals, while the male vocals include many harsh vocal elements. I like the fact that the female vocals are more versatile compared to most songs on the album by including many higher notes, which makes Cecilia Petrini a bit sounding like LACUNA COIL’s Cristina Scabbia. “Forbidden Desire” starts with heavy riffing at mid-tempo. During the verse part, the guitars are subdued while the basslines and female vocals drive the song. The catchy chorus parts include powerful riffs, and both vocalists contributing equally with many tonal shifts towards higher notes. The final part of the album is a trilogy of the title song “Event Horizon”. Part one is called “Gravity” and it is an electronic pre-lude building up tension. Part two is called “Entropy” and this one follows the same pattern as many album songs: heavy start with powerful riffing, followed by easy digestible verse parts and heavier, but catchy chorus parts. “Entropy” is a mid-tempo track without any twists in tempo and rhythm. The vocals are shared, where the male vocals contribute more to the almost anthemic chorus parts. Highlight of the track are the lead guitar contributions including the solo. Part 3 is called “Singularity” and it continues with the melodic framework established during part one and two. It is a post-lude performed by the piano and the female vocals and a perfect outro to the album.SINHERESY deliver an album, which follows well-tried patterns of modern melodic Metal. “Event Horizon” surely has its moments, for example the lead guitar contribution and the collaboration of both vocalists. However, each song is easy to digest, and catchiness is the main priority, which makes the album songs easy to predict. This lack of versatility and complexity is a missed opportunity. The album is well produced. “Event Horizon” will surely have its share of fans. Is it going to be an album that remains in the memory? Time will tell but I have some doubts.
