Bio:

At the end of 2015, a few months after leaving Nightmare, Jo Amore (vocals, former Now Or Never) and his brother David (drums, Archange) decided to start a new project: another band, featuring Markus Fortunato, the six string bass maestro, with his wild melodies (Fortunato, Archange). Completing the line-up were Steff Rabilloud (former Nightmare, Urgent) and Florian Lagoutte (ex-Despairhate, ex-Fenrir, ex-Forsaken World) with their powerful guitar riffs. Thus, ÖBLIVÏON was born in 2015 as a powermetal band composed of experienced musicians. At the end of 2018, after recording an amazing first LP called ‘Resilience’, which was praised many times in the metal media (released by our label, Rock Of Angels Records), the band played many shows all around the world. However, after a lot of thought, some extensive discussion and the agreement of the record label, the band has decided that it will grow stronger than ever under a new name. And so KINGCROWN is born from the ashes of ÖBLIVÏON !We believe that this new name is a perfect fit with the epic and majestic theme of our lyrics and music! KINGCROWN stands strong and is ready to fight on the metal planet, face-to-face, eye-to- eye.The adventure continues!A new album ‘ A Perfect World’ throught Rock Of Angels Records, is on the way, so keep your eyes and ears open for new decibel shower from us!!

Album:

The French formation Kingcrown is likely to arouse expectations of connoisseurs of the scene when looking at the line-up, but here all gather together experienced musicians from bands such as Archange, Fortunato or Now Or Never. I agree, I do not know any of these bands, so there will be no comparisons in this regard. Also not to the first album of the band, because their debut "Resilience", then still under the name ÖBLIVÏON passed me by. But everyone gets a second chance. The band founded in 2015 on a second debut, I on getting to know them. But second chances are always crowned with success?Very promising is the disc of "The Flame Of My Soul" opens, a spiked with plenty of keyboard lines and strongly symphonic -numbered number. Far-reaching riffs and vocals loaded with pathos - that's okay. In the following "Qumrân Caves" you try in addition to a few proggy Sprengseln that make the song a rather bulky matter and still create no memory value, because everything seems a bit arbitrary. The Power Metal number "The Human Tide" plays a lot better, integrating powerful riffs and a pleasant solo, even if it slowly turns out that singer Jo Amore does have a decent and energetic voice, but probably not Much of it keeps varying in song times.Unfortunately, he then tries it on "Over The Moon", a song that I stylistically rather locate in Hard Rock and comes across as a semi-successful cross between Bon Jovi and Guns n 'Roses. "Golden Knights" with catchy chorus, changing dynamics and an advancing rhythm section, which acts in a steady and harmonious interplay with the melodic parts, is really well done. Definitely my reference tip. Only the sample before the solo could have saved them. "Soundtrack Of My Existence" plays the symphonic card again, also with a lot of choir singing in the backing vocals, which sink a bit and can not really ignite their effect. At the end of the disc there was probably still a good deal of pathos left, which had to be consumed urgently. Luckily, the title track "A Perfect World" uses it a bit sparingly, but in the Acoustic version of "Over The Moon" it drips all the more out of the speakers and turns the number into a sugary overkill.By itself, most of the songs on "A Perfect World" have become okay and solid, some even more than that. As a whole, however, the album is somehow too undefined for me. Stylistically, a further wild bow is struck here, which is not always harmonious and musically it remains over the long haul then too propertyless and arbitrary to really stick in the memory. Of course, fans of Southern European Power Metal are welcome to form their own opinion. All others should be missing the reference to this disc from the outset.

Album:

The powerful french Melodic Metal band Kingcrown present their new masterpiece "Wake Up Call". After an album titled "Resilience" under their previous name Öblivïon and their 2019 "debut" album "A Perfect World" under their new name; Kingcrown, "Wake Up Call" is an album that touches the theme of the awakening of human consciousness. It's the travel of humanity out of an ancient and disturbing world right into a new one, centered on equilibrium, clarity of mind and unity of the souls. It recounts the challenges that we have to face to change our paradigm of existence and transform our lives for the better. "Wake Up Call" has all the elements that a Melodic Power Metal fan could ask for. It's the record that perfectly bridges the gap between the Euro power scene with the American power metal titans of the 90's. An album that is a true statement against the humanity's lethargy and the title couldn't be more fitting: A "Wake Up Call" from Kingcrown to the world.
