Born in Exile is created in July 2012.After several changes in training and finally stabilizing in 2015, they manage to form a band where each component will be just as important as the previous one and where everyone can compose and feel fulfilled.This is how Born In Exile was born, a mixture of styles where deep guitars, dark melodies, blunt rhythms and heartbreaking voices stand out.BIE sounds progressive Metal, although its more than varied influences make its style peculiar while catchy.

Born in Exile is a progressive power metal band from Barcelona, Spain. "Transcendence" is the second full-length and it must be said right away - front woman Kris Vega claims almost all the spotlight and I don't know if that is good. Yes, her voice has enormous power, especially in the really high registers that most male colleagues have to be castrated for. But her debilitating, exaggerated metal vibrato in the lower regions is really intense, and detracts greatly from the atmosphere and the sound.Furthermore it is not bad or something like that, musically, but it is all very safe and the band may seem to want to imitate something too much instead of really wanting to free up a place within the genre. There is also a lot of "prog because you have to". I cannot describe it differently, but it must be recognizable - of those small pieces that add nothing but nothing to the whole, but are made to look interesting. Oh, here is a riff that we have added an extra measure to because prog. Oh, here's a weird shift in accents because prog. Oh, here an abundance of incoherent guitar solos because prog. It results in a disc that unfortunately does not rise above the middle bracket, in a genre where there is enough good to be found.
