Band formed in 1986 in Albany, New York.Forged in the musical cauldrons of the 1980’s founding members Brian Theilemann, Thomas Skiff, James Magilton, Dave Messick and Tracy Salmon came together to form one of upstate New York’s premier rock bands.MAXX THRUST hit the scene, ca. 1986, and decided to focus on writing original music opening for many national acts, while showcasing their original music.Over the years, MAXX THRUST developed a large local following. Their fans became notoriously know as “Thrusters” nicknamed by the bands lead singer Thomas Skiff.This album was originally recorded in the era where tape machines reigned supreme and has since been remixed for the digital age.For Fans of Crimson Glory, Fifth Angel & Riot.

Somewhere in the countless boxes lies a copied MAXX THRUST tape that doesn't really evoke lasting memories.Nothing more came from the Albany, New York-based band either. Until today. Because they must have smelled a rat about what's going on in the metal scene right now, and God and the world have placed their unreleased stuff in the scene. A lot of stuff deserves to be released, but to the same extent you have to ask yourself why some stuff is released that was already shit back then.In the case of MAXX THRUST, a band name that inevitably reminds one more of a porn star than a serious band name, the case is not that it is unnecessary. Even though the release is lovelessly presented and it is also not a factory pressed CD, unfortunately. But the full price is charged for it! These are the negative aspects of this album with its eight songs.It's not really clear when the songs are from. Only one song from the aforementioned demo is on this album. However, the sound of the album is very good.Looking back, MAXX THRUST can be assigned to the more commercial genre of metal. In other words, they were catchy despite a certain heaviness, attached importance to melodies and still rocked. You can place the five-piece somewhere between NEW YORK, AUGUST REDMOON, LIZZY BORDEN and MALICE. The guitars are super solid, the vocals at times quite high, but always with a rock attitude.The songs are largely on a quality level. Rather mid-tempo, rarely failures in straighter tempo. However, the two fat power tracks 'Riders Of The Twilight Sun' and 'Victory Fire' are worth mentioning. `On My Way` is probably the most banal song in the overall context, but it doesn`t really affect the level of the album. The guitar duo Magilton/Messick knows their craft, which is especially noticeable in a song like `Jungles Of Desire`.The songs live up to the title of the album and fans of the bands mentioned above can listen without hesitation.And fans of traditional US metal can recommend this album anyway.
