After their debut album "BLACK TREE" (2015), D-WALL from Hanover really got going and proved that it doesn't always have to be louder, heavier and more complex. Since their foundation in 1999, D-WALL have stood for timeless music whose essence is heavy metal. In 2017, D-WALL presented themselves with their EP: "WASTE OF A BULLET", which convinces with five fat songs. Driving beats and a powerful guitar board give "WASTE OF A BULLET" an optimal foundation, which is carried by Sandra Barclay's authentic vocals.In addition to many local and national gigs with various bands, 2018 saw a mini-tour with "Flight of Fire" from Boston (USA) and 2019 with the all-girl band "Blue Ruin" from New Zealand. In addition, there are always airplays on online radio. D-WALL have also been featured on US radio in a lengthy interview, as well as in the UK's "Fireworks Magazine". Furthermore, D-WALL reap predominantly positive responses in various magazine formats at home and abroad.Guitarist Tim decided to leave the band in 2019, so a replacement was quickly found in Richard Kaiser. Because of the new musical impulse, D-WALL became harder and more aggressive, which can also be proven by new song material in 2021. D-WALL have not spent the pandemic period idly on the sofa, but are partly already in the final phase of new songs for a new album.Therefore D-WALL 2021 can best be described like this: Classic Heavy Metal paired with melodic Thrash Metal carried by female clear vocals and growl parts.

Third full-length album.D-Wall is a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band from Hannover in Germany. The band formed in 1999 and released a demo the following year. Following this release, there was a long period of silence as far as new material was concerned. But after eight years, the band was ready to release their first full-length “Godfood”.The bands promotional flyer notes the band spices up their live shows with cover songs of Deep Purple, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and Iron Maiden, which is a good indicator of what to expect of the bands own songs. And indeed, the bands influences are quite obvious when listening to Godfood. Luckily though, they managed to avoid the pitfall of sounding out-dated by injecting a modern twist into their sound.The band has a talent for writing catchy Head boppers.The songs are firmly riff oriented, with the riffing being both up tempo and melodic, making the use of supporting instruments like a keyboard mostly unnecessary.The band has a dual vocal approach, with Duncan handling the male vocals and Sandra the female vocals. Metal fans with a soft spot for old school Hard Rock and Metal will most certainly enjoy this release, but I guess every metal fan will have a good time listening to this. Regardless of your metal style of choice, a great riff is a great riff and a good song is a good song.
