STARSTRIKE have been around for quite some time. It is only now that their debut album is released, for which they have taken a full ten years. Under the motto: good things take time. "Legacy Or Destiny" is in the intersection of German stainless steel of the early brand between HELLOWEEN and ACCEPT, beyond that there are a lot of NWOBHM influences. The melange is completed with Swedish stainless steel of the brand HEAVY LOAD and WARLORD. Increasingly old school heavy and with a slight retro touch and thus for the purist and absolute trueheimer a well made rehash.The band has a special knack for traditional heavy metal and always manages to organically combine new ideas with the old school sound. The riff staccatos invite the listener to let his head spin and often shake faster. The trio has also made room for hymnic tirades. The material consists of gritty, unkitschy old school steel and the tempo is upbeat throughout.With the half-ballad "Bounded By Blood", the first resting point has been scheduled. In contrast to many other colleagues, the kitschy song is not immediately unpacked. Well-balanced, this number invites you to pause for a moment before the HELLOWEEN-influenced "Searching For A Sign" picks up full speed again. The contemporary, powerful production gives the songs a good ground to unfold. All in all it sounds more old school, in contrast to this the music is not packed like a garage and pushed through the speakers.STARSTROKE offer a straight play and their Heavy Metal of the good old school is perfectly staged for the 80s faction. Those who like traditional riffs, explosive solos and well-mixed, melodic exits will be completely thrilled here. In the department of traditional old-school metal, it is by definition largely pointless to demand innovation. Accordingly, an upgrade is provided by the fresh playing and that is quite enough to fully enthuse the reviewer. Wide-legged, the fan of tradition-conscious old-school metal is entertained from front to back.
