Coffeinneis a spanish melodic metal band founded in 2015 by Iñaki Lazcano (Vocals-Airless) and David Villarreal (Guitars-Black Rock).Coffeinneplay a powerful, melodic and fresh metal, influenced by many and different melodic metal bands, mostly European, but with different styles such as classic power metal to modern Scandinavian melodic death metal.Heavy guitars and powerful rhythm sections matching perfectly with catchy melodies, more aggressive sometimes, with a wide range of songs of varied styles but with one characteristic, current and distinct "house brand" sound. The band is completed by Miguel Manjónon bass and PakoMartínezon drums, both former members of Airless like Iñaki, what allows a perfect coupling and a demolishing live performance.Their first album and cover letter is entitled Circle of Time.Recorded, mixed and mastered between February and July 2016 at CRONOSOUND STUDIOS (Madrid) it features, among others, the collaboration of Robert Rodrigo (Airless).Originally released on December 22nd, 2016 for Spain through Rock EstatalRecords, exclusively for Japan through BickeeMusic and Nightmare Records in the US, and re-released worldwide after reaching an agreement with Fighter Records on June 15th, 2017.Unanimously praised by specialized press and fans both album and powerful live performance, Coffeinnehas become the most surprising newcomer band of 2017 and "Circle of Time" the best debut album of recent years.

Album:

COFFEINNE is a Melodic Metal band hailing from Spain. They were born in 2015 playing powerful, melodic, and fresh metal. They are influenced the most by European Metal from Power Metal to Modern Scandinavian Melodic Death Metal. They released their debut album “Circle Of Time” in 2016. It comes in with ten tracks and a listening time of just over 48 minutes. The opening track, “Fragile”, comes in blasting with guitars and bass and drums oh my! The vocals quickly follow. They are more Power Metal style, with their initial range, but they have a little Mathew Tuck of BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE to them. The sound is more BFMV meets newer IN FLAMES work. It is harder but holds a brilliant melody. The musicianship is already showing in just the first track, alone.“Take this Life”, track three, comes in to the hilt with melody and goodness. The drums are quick, but those guitars shred. The bass is perfectly done and the vocals are great. There is a bit of scream action in here too, the amps up the track just a bit. The guitars at about three minutes in is killer. This is another track that proves the talent that resides in this album. Track five, “Life in a Showcase”, comes in with more of an atmospheric sound showing off with a keyed opener. The band comes in adding an enthralling rhythm to the atmospheric backdrop that continues throughout the track’s entirety. The bass is heavy, the drums are rhythmic and guitars are airy, but lead with bursting energy.“No Escape”, track eight, is another track that melds so many genres into one great song. The vocals are powerful and commanding, the drums are quick, the guitars create a genuinely exceptional melody, and the bass keeps the track rooted in control. The name sake and track ten comes in banging. Again, the vocals are powerful, the bass is more prevalent in this track and the drums are perfectly done. While the track is technically solid, the overall feeling is flat. It’s not bad, not hardly, just not as dominant as the rest of the tracks on the album. I do love how the track ends though, with the fading music and just the vocals present. It’s a nice ending. The final track, “Life in a Showcase (Orchestral)” is a bonus track. This is done beautifully in full orchestra glory. Being a fan of and playing in an orchestra for a time, this track is my favorite on the album. Not only does it show COFFEINNE’s musical talent but, also, their artful ambition. This is a beautiful piece with great emotion and writing, definitely on par with its more Metal mate track five.COFFEINNE’s “Circle of Time” is a great debut album. There is strong musicianship and art throughout the album’s totality. In fact, while writing this up, I almost forgot it was a debut, it was so good. “Circle of Time” will appeal to many listeners, especially those who like BFMV, IN FLAMES, and the like. Pick this one up.

Album:

Coffeinne, a melodic metal band, returns after just over three years, with their new work "Requiem".The group currently composed by vocalist Iñaki Lazcano, guitarist David Villarreal, bassist Miguel Manjón and Pako Martínez on drums, offer us a new dose of melodic heavy metal, with a marked international character, which we liked so much in its first delivery.“Frozen Seas” opens this great album with a powerful discharge of power, without losing an iota of melody, especially in bridge and chorus, with slight progressive nuances and a fantastic work on the guitars."Back to the Light" delights us with a faster cut, close at times to power metal, in which Iñaki's voice is full of nuances, in a magnificent vocal performance, and with one of the choruses that I liked the most of the disk.More of the style of the first cut, “One More Day”, perhaps with somewhat more modern overtones in this case, is a prelude to the song chosen as a preview single, which has been accompanied by a video clip, “Forevermore”; magnificent theme, somewhat more direct and accessible, with a guitar that gives a somewhat more melodic tint to the ensemble, and with a wonderful chorus of those that stay in your head and that encourage you to sing live. Good choice."The Showdown" begins with a lot of claw and, again, the formula of slightly lower revolutions on the bridge and chorus is repeated, which achieves such a good result when it comes to capturing the attention of the listener in the most important moments of the song. Two samples of the best hard rock are the following, "Never Again" and "Wake Up". And the truth is that they are appreciated after several cannon shots like the ones we have been able to enjoy so far. They are much calmer songs, in which Iñaki has the opportunity to offer us a sublime interpretation and that I personally would have preferred if they had been distributed in their location on the album, to refresh the ensemble a bit.Power returns with “Open Your Eyes”, with a brutal rhythmic section, reminding me of Scandinavian melodic death metal and spectacular guitar work, in a new melodic heavy metal theme, with modern nuances and with “Crash and Burn” , more classic but equally fantastic cut.The song that gives title to the album "Requiem" and that has the collaboration of Timo Tolkki, has become in its own right the second preview. It is the longest song, with almost seven minutes. And it has become my favorite song on the album. It encompasses everything that is Coffeinne, perfect combination of power and melody, with sufficient compositional complexity, but accessible to all ears, with a magnificent work by all the members of the band, both in the rhythm section and on the guitars, as in the vocal part. And with an ending that has been exciting for me.Coffeinne returns with a fantastic second job, keeping the ingredients that caught us in her debut, power and melody in equal parts, riding between modern-style heavy metal and international-style melodic hard rock. A magnificent album that should be the definitive push to the front line.
