Later that year Holy Inquisition (its original name) worked with the help of Gonzalo Ruiz Tagle on bass. After some shows as a trio, the band finally found Freddy Alexis singing in mid-1994.In early 1995 the name was reduced to Inquisition. Album:

Offer your life if you are not able to fulfill an impossible one-night commitment, requesting that they bring you material because you think you are fit to write in those few hours, nothing less than a copy of the Bible. Play your skin by putting your memory and your knowledge to work to replicate a book whose huge number of pages warrants an infinitely longer period of time. Exposing yourself to sacrifice as soon as dawn breaks, confined inside a smelly dungeon and impregnated by the dark and suffering burden of those human beings who preceded your confinement. In short, to challenge your executioners by inciting them to increase their curiosity to leave them with the mold made, because you were able, before their wild eyes and their half-open and slimy snouts, to deliver them an enormous volume, throwing out emanations of fresh ink and registering the entirety of the stipulated content. That, dear friends, not just any mortal. And it is that legend says that as soon as his jailers left him alone, the monk proceeded to summon the presence of the devil himself, requesting his powerful assistance. "Don Sata" would have appeared shortly after totally devoid of the desire to save the condemned man, but rather on the contrary, aiming only and in mocking eagerness, to laugh in the face of those Christians who were disbelieving in the fulfillment of the agreed pact. His only condition was that his image be captured in that nefarious book.In the morning, the cursed book, the "Codex Gigas" (in Latin: big book) or also known as "The Devil's Codex", would start a life of its own and its centuries-long trajectory would take it to what is said to be its current whereabouts: Stockholm, Sweden. The aforementioned story formed the core material, the mortar and the later thick work of the album of this Chilean band (Inquisition, thus without accent according to their logo). The versatile singer Pablo Domic took care of creating all the lyrics and the talented guitarist Manolo Schäfler put music to each chapter of this gloomy and sinister novel. A concept album made up of twelve pieces of exquisite heavy metal, whose musical structure gradually enters us in the middle of a gloomy atmosphere, in a chilling narrative that highlights a great musical exhibition. With regard to the cover, which at the time generated some controversy, we have the suicide and leader of a Chilean apocalyptic sect, the messianic "Antares de la Luz", holding a dagger with which he intends to sacrifice an innocent infant. Why the controversy? Well, because indeed, the very cretin carried out the sacrifice of the baby of one of the members of the sect (with her approval) by burning him alive while the party of crazy people observed the fact between chants and ejaculations. This shocking news caused a deep regret in Chilean society and therefore, the face of the evil Antares was not very pleasant to observe as the protagonist of the visual art of a record, no matter how much it circulated within an underground circuit. The chapters that show the path of the sinful monk give an account of the marked influences that the band possesses. If you enjoy the vocal melodies of Mercyful Fate, as well as its elegant arrangements and rhythm changes, or, if you are seduced by the devastating riffs of some bands such as Judas Priest, Black Sabbath or Blitzkrieg, then I anticipate that you are going to enjoy a happy moment listening to this album. And if you like high-pitched voices capable of rising higher, well, don't wait any longer and start listening to them: This is good heavy, compadre! You've already seen the cover, with that insane jerk with messianic delusions, a criminal who chose to hang himself before the siege of the Peruvian police, a country to which he fled like a rat to whom his imaginary power of divine incarnation was of no use. You have looked at it and you have made, poor you, eye contact with evil. The time has come, dear naive reader, to open the devil's book. But I warn you: the monk's secret will be revealed to you ... his collusion with Satan to make fun of death by human hands, leaving him exposed to the will of the master and lord of darkness. And you, daring and curious reader, are now an accomplice and witness to this ominous scenario. Therefore, there is no way to go back.In order not to extend this parchment further, I proceed to make an approach to the pestilential dungeon that sheltered the heretic friar through an urban exploration, equipped only with a headband that carries a lit lantern (like my friend David Parcerisa, Spanish youtuber of the Rimbel 35 channel) and from an old tape recorder (in case I get some psychophony); so I will be able to tell you what unhealthy substance some of these chapters are made of; the rest, you will have to discover them for yourself (even if you risk your salvation with it).
