Bio:

The Hyperion born in the summer of 2010 by the hand of Fabio Almeida (guitarist).Through an ad on the Internet found Paulo Brandão (vocals / bass), soon realized they had the same ideas about the music they intended to do. After a long period found Filipe Costa (drums) was then found a solid basis for making the music they liked. Participated in the band also Ricardo Lima (keyboardist), but due to lack of availability of testing decided to move on just three. In December 2011 was received in the band Agostinho Soares, who made possible the expansion of horizons of the band so you get more intense in the produced songs. Later, in December 2012, was received at band Helder Soares to bassist place in order to improve the band's performance at all levels. In November 2013 released the album "Hyperion Rise", with 8 tracks and took part in collections in Portugal and also in Greece through some magazines dedicated to heavy metal. After a period in which the line up suggested a more classic heavy / melodic metal band split up the Augustine brothers and Helder Soares, moving forward as it had started with only 3 elements and looking for a more brutal aspect of heavy metal .. .

Album:

Portuguese quintet's debut CD is, as the bio puts it, traditional metal. There is no hiding the NWOBHM influence. This is sure to appeal to fans of standard German heavy metal too. The opener is not far removed from Running Wild, Freedom Call or the like. Clear Iron Maiden influences are all over the eight songs and at some points there is even a bit of Bruce Dickinson in Paulo Brandao. The start of Justice Of Faith is very early Metallica and is another case in point of the influence of NWOBHM. The title track, also bearing the name of the band, is also the Iron Maiden type song (and just about any Manowar song) with lyrics like “Rise Rise Hiperion Rise ... The power of metal in your eyes.” Verses like “warriors of steel” and “metal is the future” make appearances in This Is Metal, a pseudo anthem that is a bit on the low-key side for it to be a full-blown crowd pleasing live song. Under Your Command takes on the battle theme making sure Manowar is mentioned here again. Towards the end of Under Your Command and the seventh track Let Me Rock the band do a bit of a folk 'metal' thing, perhaps these are newer songs and if so the future is not promising. Masters Of The Night ends this 37 minute release with a promise to fight all the demons’ attack!
