Arch Enemy 'Breaking The Law' - The Swedish melodic-deather to Michael Amott and the blue energy wonder Alisa White-Gluz have already taken several pieces of Priest, including 'Breaking The Law'. To wrap the BRITISH STEEL classic in such a wicked robe and fill it with nasty growls, should provoke so many super fans and testifies to courage. Arch Enemy released them in 2014 and reissued their release earlier this year on their compilation COVERED IN BLOOD.
Sabaton 'All Guns Blazing' - The power metallers from the mining town of Falun have been at the head of festival line-ups over the past decade and are considered the headliners of the future with few other groups. With themes of war and idiosyncratic sound (and vocals), the camouflage wearers are not only open-mouthed, but also face many a controversy. This could also blossom on their version of the (thematically fitting) PAINKILLER track 'All Guns Blazing', which they recorded for THE LAST STAND (2016). Joakim Brodén in particular, barking through the play in alternation with a high voice, creates risk and fall height at the same time.
Powerwolf 'Night Crawler' - Powerwolf are among the vertical starters of the German metal scene; Idols like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are among the declared influences of the quintet. Especially thanks to Attila Dorn's vocals, her version of the PAINKILLER classic comes with its own touch. Powerwolf's cover compilation METALLUM NOSTRUM features Priests 'Night Crawler' as well as 'Touch Of Evil'; In addition, the pack turns pieces from Ozzy Osbourne through Savatage to Amon Amarth through the mincer.
Katatonia 'Night Comes Down' - Katatonia and Judas Priest sounds like a daring combination: pure steel power in the guise of melancholy and sadness? But the dark DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH ballad - one of the most emotional pieces in the heroes' catalog - gains new tragedy thanks to the fragile voice of Jonas Renkse and provokes goose bumps competing with the original. A nice end to the last work of the group THE FALL OF HEARTS (2016).
Huntress 'Running Wild' - A tragedy-related implementation proffer the occult heavy metal Huntress,which became known in 2011 with 'Eight Of Swords': The 'Running Wild' released with the second work STARBOUND BEAST (2013) is one of the rare covers of the Californians around the creative witch Jill Janus who left us in 2018. The implementation of the crisp KILLING MACHINE riffers gains new dimensions through the insistent female voice; but also succeeded the musical accompaniment.
Blind Guardian 'Beyond The Realms Of Death' - The power prog kings Blind Guardian have chosen a longer piece as befit. The original is the ballad of STAINED CLASS; the Krefelder brought out their calm, elegiac version on the compilation THE FORGOTTEN TALES (1996). One year later, her version appeared on Century Media's A TRIBUTE TO JUDAS PRIEST: LEGENDS OF METAL (VOL II). In addition to the guitar work Hansi Kürsch's highly emotional voice stands out, which can keep up with the profound original.
Kreator 'Grinder' - At the end of 2018, the German Thrashers and the Metal Gods met at a concert in Ecuador. Did Rob Halford Kreator tell you what he thinks of her grinder cover? Hopefully! Because the Pottjungs have not only captured the crushing character of the BRITISH STEEL piece for the aforementioned Century Media compilation, but also provided it (especially in the nasty chorus) with proper aggressiveness. The only downside remains the sound.
Death "Painkiller" - Even the legendary US-Americans Death have ventured on a big chunk and recorded their almighty PAINKILLER title anthem as a cover version for their album THE SOUND OF PERSEVERANCE (1998). Pretty daring, gentlemen! Her variant saps poison and bile, thrives on wonderful guitar playing and surprises with Chuck Schuldiner's screaming borderline - and even a pinch of clear vocals.
Primal Fear 'Metal Gods' - Given Ralf Scheepers' appearance and his reminiscent of Halford vocal range surprised a cover from the house of the German power metal Primal Fear at all. Your version of the BRITISH STEEL piece ent
