Bio:

Great White is an American hard rock band, formed in Los Angeles in 1977. The band gained popularity during the 1980s and early 1990s. The band released several albums in the late 1980s and gained airplay on MTV with music videos for songs like "Once Bitten, Twice Shy". The band reached their peak popularity with the album ...Twice Shy in 1989.The band continued to release new material into the 1990s, although none of their material charted in the United States. In 2003, the band made headlines when The Station nightclub fire led to the deaths of 100 people in West Warwick, Rhode Island, including the band's guitarist Ty Longley, who had been a member of Jack Russell's solo band.In 2011 the band split with Jack Russell forming "Great White Featuring Jack Russell" and Terry Ilous fronted Great White. As of August 2007, Great White sold over 8 million records worldwide. In 2008, bassist Sean McNabb left Great White to concentrate on a career in theater and acting. McNabb was promptly replaced with Scott Snyder (Ramos, Accomplice).McNabb is now a member of Dokken.Great White released their latest album, Rising, on 13 March 2009 in Europe via Frontiers Records and on 21 April in the US.In 2010, Jani Lane of Warrant filled in for Jack Russell, while Russell recuperated from surgery after suffering a perforated bowel. Terry Ilous (XYZ) replaced Jack Russell at the Coach House during the summer of 2010 and Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt, Quiet Riot, King Kobra) filled in for Russell when Great White performed at Stockholm Rock Out Festival in September. In December 2011, Jack Russell, having recovered from his health issues, formed a new incarnation of Great White with a brand-new lineup under the name of "Jack Russell's Great White."The other band members have voiced their strong objection to this move and said that "Jack Russell does not have the right to start his own Great White or use the name without our names in the lineup. We will litigate any promoter that books ‘Jack Russell's Great White’ or uses any logo featuring the name Great White.". In September 2013, the courts finally reached a decision declaring that legally Jack Russell can tour, and use the name "Jack Russell's Great White" with his own band; while the other original members along with new lead singer Terry Ilous [XYZ], will continue to use the official name "Great White".On 18 March 2012 Great White announced their first new album with singer Terry Ilous,Elation, to be released in May that year, as well as a live album ( Great White: 30 years - Live On the Sunset Strip), and concert DVD of the band's 30th-anniversary show at the Key Club in Hollywood on 22 March. In July 2013 Bassist Dario Seixas left "Jack Russell's Great White" and was replaced by former bassist Tony Montana.Lorne Black, the former bassist of Great White, died on September 27, 2013.In early 2014, Tony Montana moved to guitar, and was replaced at bass by Chris Tristram.

Album:

As many of you know, nowadays there are two versions of GREAT WHITE: one features original guitarist Mark Kendall with the other being the brainchild of original singer Jack Russell. I really had a tough time trying to find information on this CD since there’s no label website, plus there was nothing relevant to be mentioned in the respective Kendall/ Russell official sites. I then remembered an older GREAT WHITE CD called “Recover” (2002) and browse through its tracklist to find out there are virtually all songs in common. Last but not least, I found a picture of the new album’s back cover and I read the recordings were made live in the studio circa 1989, hence we’re talking about the period before the Kendall/ Russell split-up...All covers are good or very good. GREAT WHITE is a band, anyway, that always had the Rock ‘n’ Roll felling alive and well in their discography. As you can see from the original artists in the tracklist, the American band pays tribute to bands of inspiration from across the globe. Russell’s vocals are clearly and touchin’ with the guitars work being an ace again. The production helps so, also, since it’s clear-cut and rocking to the bone. I was quite confident – possessing virtually all of the band’s studio album – that some specific artists and bands (AC/DC, FREE, STATUS QUO etc) would be featured in this disc; and if you wonder why LED ZEPPELIN is not in the list, you must be informed that there’s a whole album with paid tribute to the British Rock monsters called “Great Zeppelin” (1998).

Album:

We have been featuring here several remastered reissues done by French label Bad Reputation / Axe Killer, known for their 'Collector Series / Remastered with Bonus' releases, with the main attraction being the addition of a bonus tracks or bonus disc, making these reissues the 'definitive expanded versions'. In a Rock Candy Records fashion, these are official remasters in arrangement with the original recording companies. Here's another request from the label, "Psycho City", GREAT WHITE's last album for major company Capitol, fully digitally remastered and including 4 bonus tracks, all much sought after songs previously unavailable on CD except on extremely rare singles or high priced imports.Great White toured with Guns N' roses, hit the charts, and enjoyed massive popularity. However substance abuse from the band members started to make its mark between 'em, and the advent of grunge didn't help.In 1992, Great White would make one more record for Capitol, "Psycho City", and despite all troubles arising, this is probably the band’s best. This album rocks consistently from beginning to end with a tremendous pulsating groove, strong riffs, and powerful vocals."Psycho City" is mature Great White, earthy, pure classic rock. There's not a single weak track here, and you are hooked from the first note of opener title track 'Psycho City' and followed by the rocker 'Step On You', the bluesy gem 'Old Rose Motel' - one of the greatest Great White songs ever - and the slow burner ballad 'Maybe Someday'.These first four songs alone, make this album worthwhile. The rest is just about as good, with 'Big Goodbye' being another excellent tune, 'Doctor Me' a terrific midtempo that reminds me of the band's early works, the very Zeppelin / Kingdom Come 'I Want You', an d the fun and punchy 'Never Trust a Pretty Face'.The atmosphere of 'Love Is A Lie' is just superb, and they end with the really good semi-ballad 'Get On Home', which always made me think about Tesla. The bonus tracks are great, including hard rocking B-Side 'Somebody To Love', the heavy blues of 'Driving Your Plane (Short Version)', the kick @ass 'Who's Livin' On Rock 'N' Roll', and the acoustically driven cowboy-song 'Wasted Rock Ranger', a 1989 B-side that later became a fan favorite.Definitely one of Great white best works - if not the best, "Psycho City" needs a slot in your collection, and this pristine and punchy remaster is the one to get. Not easy, as it was a numbered limited edition with copies being sold at Amazon for 180 Euros right now.

In a Rock Candy Records fashion, these are official remasters in arrangement with the original recording companies. Here's another request from the label, "Gallery : The Definitive Collection Of Their Masterpieces", a GREAT WHITE's compilation exclusively done by Axe Killer Records and never released by other label / company."Gallery" it isn't a greatest hits record, but more a selection of Great White's best compositions and most of them being 'inside tracks'. Sure, 'Rock Me' and 'Call It Rock 'n' Roll' are here in the tracklist, but darn, hit singles or not these are terrific tunes.Additionally, 'Desert Moon' is featured here in its original version, not the like take appeared in the Capitol Greatest Hits.Axe Killer / Bad Reputation Records always give us an extra plus, and here's a couple of collectors bonus tracks. The really good riff-driven rocker 'Slow Ride' was originally the B-side for the single 'Once Bitten Twice Shy', only released on vinyl 7'', and later a Japanese edition bonus track. Then the hot and very well recorded version of 'Bad Boys [Live 1984]', as far I know, in fact recorded in 1983 and included into the rare Recovery Live album. As said, "Gallery : The Definitive Collection Of Their Masterpieces" is not a greatest hits but a collectors compilation, very, very well remastered by Axe Killer.I think this remastered finds the perfect balance between modern punchy output and 'vintage remaster style' , something the Great White musical style needs.Fantastic sound quality and very nice artwork / booklet.

Album:

One nice request here was the first full-length album by American hard rockers GREAT WHITE, in its remastered version by Axe Killer Records featuring 5 bonus tracks. After an indie EP, Great White was signed by industry mover & shaker Alan Niven (whose distribution company, Greenworld, also issued Motley Crue's first LP) and abandoning their original moniker Dante Fox, the newly rechristened Great White officially opened their bait & tackle shop for business with this eponymous 1984 debut on a major label.Alternately named "Stick It" in a few foreign markets as this Axe Killer reissue - and graced with a sleazy band photo instead of the spare but classy, white-logo-on-black cover known to most fans - the album reworked 3 tracks from that independent EP, and for many this is their strongest record. But this album shows a different Great White than the famous for its commercial tunes, displaying a more hard-driving metal sound as opposed to their later, blues-infused melodic rock sound.'Great White / Stick It' still stands out from Great White's remaining discography thanks to its gritty production (Michael Wagener) and straightforward songs, undiluted, as yet, by the group's looming commercial aspirations. The 'Side A' of this record is pure gold, highlighted by the menacing swagger of 'On Your Knees' and the killer 'Stick It', followed close behind by fast-driving opener "Out Of The Night' and its magical early '80s chorus (to me, influenced by Rainbow / Joe Lynn Turner era). The cover of The Who / Pete Townshend's is catchy and rockin', and the album's first half it's rounded out by the more restrained but effective grooves of "Bad Boys".'Side B' includes the impressive 'StreetKiller' actually threatened to deliver a first taste of balladry before evolving into yet another menacing heavy rocker, followed by the atypically metallic Judas Priest-derived 'No Better Than Hell'.Midtempo 'Hold On' is a glimpse of the anthemic qualities that would anchor Great White's future formula for success, 'Nightmares' is heavier (influenced by Elm Street movies?) before 'Dead End' - very reminiscent of early Dokken - finish out the album on an energetic thrust of the hips.Great White's first extended swim into the music business cesspool proved that they were easily up to the task of scavenging for fans alongside the L.A. glam metal scene. It's heavy, it's pure '80s, it rocks. This Axe Killer Records remaster is really good, well balanced, and features 5 bonus tracks, B-sides of some of the band's singles.

Album:

Another very good GREAT WHITE album reissued on SHM-CD / remastered by Universal Japan is the polished "Hooked", including 4 bonus tracks. This is a fresh EAC copy, as previously we featured the album here with some skips / error. Additionally, there's all artwork now.Brilliantly produced by Alan Niven and Michael Lardie, "Hooked" is the best sounding Great White album in my humble opinion. Musically it's also the most varied in the band's history. To their characteristic bluesy hard rock Great White added this time some kind of a stadium vibe, trying to capitalize Damn Yankees' success, I guess. Just listen 'The Original Queen Of Sheba' (a highlight). This is true rockin' album, but, also shows how much Great White had grown. When it was released (1991) right in the middle of the alternative phase-in / Hairbands phase-out period, I was surprised how diverse "Hooked" was. There were the typical straight-forward rockers like 'Call It Rock N' Roll', 'Desert Moon' or the catchy 'Can't Shake It', but there was more.'Lovin Kind' has a piano line which move towards more acoustic guitars and solid songwriting essence, proving that Great White did not wanted to a be a one trick pony. Then 'South Bay Cities' is unbelievably bright and refreshing.'Heartbreaker' is a hard rocker, yes, but with a different approach. It's a long, elaborated grower of a song with terrific harmonies and some kind of special atmosphere. Then 'Afterglow' is another fine ballad from Great White, crafted in the way they only can. This Japanese edition of "Hooked" on SHM-CD not only sounds superb (great remaster) but also includes 4 bonus tracks, all covers from the likes of Savoy Brown, Dr. Feelgood, etc, providing even more variation. These low-priced reissue series are great to get High Quality discs at regular price tag.

Bio:

Jack Russell’s Great White represents the next phase of a legacy.Rather than look backwards and merely attempt to relive the multi-platinum hard rock entity’s storied origins, Jack Russell set his sights on the future. In December 2011, Jack Russell’s Great White first bared its teeth. Since its inception, the frontman welcomed back longtime bassist and friend Tony Montana—this time as a guitar player and keyboardist—lead guitarist Robby Lochner, and drummer Dicki Fliszar. Now, this group has a sharp, soaring, and slick new album on the horizon for 2014 boasting the bluesy hard rock stomp that made Russell and Montana icons in the first place. The vision became clear for the singer once Montana returned to the fold. After experimenting with a various configurations, he reconnected with his old bassist, but in a different role.“It’s a powerful band,” Russell proclaims. “The music comes across very dynamically. It’s what I always wanted it to be. Tony was a catalyst for moving forward. I was never as close to him as I am now. We never had the opportunity to write music together before. I also never knew he played guitar. When I first heard him, I nearly fell of my chair. He’s my copilot. He’s one of my best friends. I wish we would’ve been this close back in the day.”“It’s natural for all of us,” adds Montana. “There’s a solid chemistry, and we’re having a lot of fun.”Rounding out the lineup with Lochner and Fliszar, these four musicians hit the studio in late 2013 to cut what would eventually become their official full-length debut. It taps into the bluesy bombast and heavy energy of Russell’s celebrated material, but it’s a distinctly modern metallic monster.“We want the new material to blow people’s ears back,” Russell goes on. “It has the elements of the best Great White music ever written, but there’s an edge. Tony brings that validity, while Robby and Dicki add a new life. It’s going to surprise people.”Montana agrees, “It’s got the classic sound. The first element is Jack’s voice. No other band sounds like this one ever did or does now. When I was 17-years-old, I remember walking around the UCLA campus listening to the band’s first EP. I was a fan before I ever joined the band. We’re going to maintain that same integrity going forward.”That integrity became forged over nearly thirty years. In 1984, the band broke out of the Los Angeles scene with its self-titled debut followed by seismic platinum-selling outings such as 1987’s Once Bitten...and 1989’s …Twice Shy. Moving over 8 million copies worldwide, they stood out as tried-and-true rock stalwarts into the 21st century until 2011, when Russell went on to form Jack Russell’s Great White.Ultimately, the new music is for the millions of fans who stuck by Russell all these years. It’s everything they’ve been waiting for and more.“The band was always a standout from the era it came from,” says Montana. “It was never a hair band. Listen to the music, and that’s evident. Everything was based in blues. We want to add to that legacy with new material preserving those timeless elements.”Russell leaves off, “This is fun, first and foremost. I feel like I’m 27 again. I hope it sounds like Great White—but for 2014.”

Album:

JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE — which features ex-GREAT WHITE singer Jack Russell alongside former GREAT WHITE bassist-turned-guitarist Tony Montana (as a guitar player and keyboardist), Dan McNay (MONTROSE) on bass, Robby Lochner (FIGHT) on guitar and Dicki Fliszar (BRUCE DICKINSON) on drums — will release its debut album, "He Saw it Comin'" (originally titled "The Gauntlet"), on January 27, 2017 via Frontiers Music Srl."For me this is so much more than a collection of songs, it is the culmination of a lifetime of living," said Jack. "It is about addictions, love, pain and many facets of the human condition. I tend to write autobiographically and on this album I dealt with topics I've never explored."Rather than look backwards and merely attempt to relive the multi-platinum hard rock entity's storied origins, Jack Russell set his sights on the future. In December 2011, JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE first bared its teeth. Robby Lochner has been with Jack since JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE's inception, and they soon welcomed longtime bassist and friend Tony Montana — this time as a guitar player and keyboardist. They then added drummer Dicki Fliszar, then bassist Dan McNay. This group has a sharp, soaring, eclectic, hook-laden new album ready, boasting the bluesy hard rock stomp that made Russell and Montana icons in the first place."It's a powerful band," Russell proclaims. "The music is dynamic and I've gone where I've never gone before. Lochner was a catalyst for moving forward. I wasn't sure how the writing would go at first but soon realized the chemistry is beyond words. He's my co-pilot and one of my best friends."This past year the musicians hit the studio to cut their official full-length debut. It taps into the bluesy bombast and heavy energy of Russell's celebrated material, but it's a distinctly modern metallic monster."We want the new material to blow people's ears back," Russell goes on. "It has the elements of the best of GREAT WHITE, but there's diversity, vibe and an edge to it. It draws from our '60s and '70s roots in a more modern way."Montana agrees. "It's got the classic sound," he says. "The first element is Jack's voice. No other band sounds like this one, ever did or does now. When I was 17 years old, I remember walking around the UCLA campus listening to the band's first EP. I was a fan before I ever joined the band. We're going to maintain that integrity moving forward."Russell recently told disc jockey Eddie Winters about the songwriting process for "He Saw It Coming": "There wasn't any songs that were really a struggle to write. I write the music on some and I had the melody lines and some lyrics, and I showed it to Robby, and I don't play [guitar], so I've kind of gotta [hum the riffs or chord progressions], or whatever, and he's gotta figure out a chord from one note. So he just picked up on that right away, and it was amazing. 'Cause you write with somebody for thirty-some years and all of a sudden you write with somebody else, and you're, like, 'Okay. How's this gonna be? Is he gonna have a bunch of dumb ideas that I don't like? Or is he gonna think my ideas are crappy? Or are we just gonna hit it off. And I was really surprised when it was just… boom! We were thinking along the same lines. But Robby added a flavor to what I was doing guitar-wise and melody-wise. He's one of those music-theory guys, so we have a lot of moving harmonies and stuff we never had before."JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE is not to be confused with the current touring and recording version of GREAT WHITE, which features Mark Kendall, Scott Snyder (bass), Audie Desbrow (drums), Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards) and Terry Ilous (lead vocals).

Line Up:

Jack Russell – lead vocals, percussion (1977–2001, 2002–2005, 2006–2010, 2011–present)

Album:

Recover is a cover album released by the American hard rock band Great White in 2002.All of the tracks are covers of songs that the band gained the most influence from. The album was recorded live in studio in November 1989 as a two-track demo. The collection of covers of this album include songs already appeared in other Great White albums, such as the medley "Bitches and Other Women" on ..Twice Shy, "Down at the Doctors" on Hooked and "Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady" on Let It Rock. The covers of "Ready for Love" and "Fire and Water" are notable, as both were made famous by bands with Paul Rodgers as the lead singer. The former song was originally recorded by Mott the Hoople, whose guitarist Mick Ralphs was later in Bad Company and whose lead singer Ian Hunter originally performed "Once Bitten, Twice Shy", a major hit for Great White in 1989. The Dr. Feelgood song "Down at the Doctors" is misspelled in the credits as "Down to the Doctor".Recover was issued with an altered order of the songs by the label Axe Killer in France in 2002, under the name The Final Cuts and in 2003 by Mausoleum Records with two bonus tracks, under the name Revisiting Familiar Waters. In 2004, the Italian label Horizon-Italy re-issued the album with the title Burning House of Love, without the band's permission. The compilation's title was considered to be in very bad taste, given that it was released just a year after The Station nightclub fire at a 2003 Great White concert. The band has since condemned the label for illegally making this album, and has urged all fans not to buy it.The Italian label, on the other end, promptly changed the title to Love Removal Machine, without changing cover or content of the CD.Deadline Records issued a double-CD deluxe edition of Recover in 2007, with a bonus CD containing tracks taken from other Great White albums and from tribute albums where Jack Russell had sung.

Album:

Deadline / Cleopatra Records just reissued “Stage“, the long out of print live album from hard rockers GREAT WHITE tearing up the stage in California in 1994 and 1993, including the original Japanese Edition bonus tracks. Both shows (at House of Blues and Celebrity Theatre) were professionally recorded, engineered and mastered to the finest sonic quality that sounds better today than it was upon its initial release in 1995 thanks to modern transfer to digital.Without a doubt the best live album from Great White, they were really on top of their game around that era, while the track listing says it all: all classics. You’d be hard pressed to find a finer example of a hard rock live recording. Great White has always amazed me in their ability to stay true to form and not deviate from the studio versions, but capitalizing the stage to sound more powerful, ‘lively’ indeed. This band makes the live show a work of art. This reissue replicates the original Japanese Edition which consisted in 2xCD, with one bonus track each.

Line Up:

Jack Russell – lead and backing vocals
Mark Kendall – guitar, backing vocals
Michael Lardie – guitar, keyboards, backing vocals
Teddy Cook – bass, backing vocals
Audie Desbrow – drums

Album:

There's great news for classic hard rock and GREAT WHITE fans as the band will be releasing its new studio album entitled "Full Circle" on June 2, 2017.The album is the second with singer Terry Ilous after Elation, which was released back in 2012. The effort sees the band re-teaming with its original producer, the legendary Michael Wagener. To put it clear from the start, "Full Circle" is one of the best records in Great White's career, and one of the best 'unadulterated hard rock' albums I heard in long time. The new album an honorable nod to their first EP Out Of The Night (Aegean Records, 1983) and debut self-titled full-length record (EMI, 1984).This means outdated? Not at all, but a classic sounding album plenty of well written and performed songs. All are terrific songs including the feel-good 'I'm Alright', the trademark Great White bluesy midtempo rocker 'Movin' On' (a highlight), the melodic rocker 'This Is the Life' (another pearl), and the acoustically filled ballad 'Let Me In', in the way that only guitarist Mark Kendall can wrote. You don't need more blah-blah; go and buy "Full Circle".This is classic Great White, 'that' kind of songwriting & sound all fans have been waiting for since the '80s.

Line Up:

Terry Ilous - vocals
Mark Kendall - guitar, backing vocals
Michael Lardie - guitar, keyboards, backing vocals
Scott Snyder - bass
Audie Desbrow - drums

Tracklist:

01. I’m Alright
02. Movin’ On
03. This Is The Life
04. Let Me In
05. Moonshine
06. Cry Of A Nation
07. Give It Up
08. Big Time
09. Never Let You Down
10. I’ve Got Your Back

+ Video "Big Time" (Official Video)

Album:

GREAT WHITE is currently taking pre-orders for a new live CD/DVD set apparently titled "Live". The effort is expected to include the band's August 2018 performance at the Kentucky State Fair, featuring GREAT WHITE's latest addition, singer Mitch Malloy, who joined the group earlier that year following the departure of Terry Ilous. This past February, GREAT WHITE guitarist Mark Kendall told Rockbandreviews.com that he and his bandmates have "been going crazy lately" working on material for the band's next album."I've been sending Mitch music," Kendall said. "He lives in Florida right now; he moved from Nashville to Florida. I've been sending him ideas. We're gonna probably get together pretty soon and start actually doing it for real."I was kind of thrilled, actually, because I hadn't really written with Mitch yet, as far as sitting down and having a writing session or whatever, but I sent him just music with no melody ideas or anything, and he came back with a full song — lyrics, melodies, chorus; the whole deal," he continued. "It was a pretty good arrangement, so it wasn't probably too difficult for him because there was a lot of availability with melodies and stuff. But I was real excited that he could come with a song without me humming any melodies or giving him any ideas at all. So that was kind of cool."Kendall also talked about the songwriting process, saying that he finds it difficult to write music on demand."I usually get inspired when I know we're gonna record in three months or something," he explained. "That's when I get in that mode where I'm thinking about it. But I've never done this; I've never [said to myself], 'I'm going to write songs now and go into a room and try to write songs.' For some reason, that just seems like work to me. But what I will is think of things in my head or have my acoustic with me all the time. Maybe while I'm watching TV, something pokes out and then I'll put it down. But I never really force it too much. And then when I do get a song, or at least some parts, we'll get together into a room — the band — and we'll kind of hash it out."Ilous, frontman of '80s L.A. hard rockers XYZ, joined GREAT WHITE in 2010 after stepping in for touring vocalist Jani Lane (WARRANT).The Ilous-led GREAT WHITE released two albums, 2012's "Elation" and 2017's "Full Circle", before Terry was dismissed from the group. This version of GREAT WHITE is not to be confused with JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE, which features original GREAT WHITE singer Jack Russell alongside Robby Lochner (FIGHT) on guitar, Dan McNay on bass, Tony Montana on guitar and Dicki Fliszar on drums.

Album:

Not too often a band have an album out and then nine months later they release a new version of it. This was the case with GREAT WHITE when presented a newly remixed version of their studio album Elation, re-titled “Elation : George Tutko Remixes“.
“Elation” was originally released by Frontiers on May 18, 2012 with production and mixing being handled by guitarist/keyboardist Michael Lardie. The CD, featuring new vocalist Terry Illous, received positive reviews by the press and was warmly embraced by fans. The only complaint was the fact that some liveliness of previous studio recordings of the band seemed lost at the mixing desk. When “Hard to Say Goodbye” – the first single from the album – were prepared to its video release, Terry Illous suggested a remix for the track to make an exclusive ‘video-mix’. He knew engineer George Tutko who did one album with XYZ, Illous’ first band. After Tutko did the new remix of the song from the master tracks, all Great White members were perplexed how much better it sounded than the original. Then they asked him to do the whole record. As requested, here’s “Elation : George Tutko Remixes”. This version is only on digital format at limited retailers and has become a collectors item.George Tutko is some kind of magician. Having perfected his skills for years with awesome producer Roy Thomas Baker, Tutko has done miracles in the past revitalizing material to Journey for their Greatest Hits albums, Kiss’ Box set, Rod Stewart’s Sessions 1971-1998 and many more.He also has been the engineer on great recordings such as Eric Martin’s ‘I’m Only Fooling Myself’, Ozzy’s ‘Prince of Darkness’, Kiss ‘Revenge’, XYZ’s ‘Hungry’, Quireboys ‘A Bit of What You Fancy’, The Storm, Two Fires, and the list continues. In short; the result on Great White’s “Elation” is truly surprising. The band’s traditional vibrant sound now really sparks with this new mix. You’ll hear a world of difference; guitars now up front sharp, vocals are more clear and the rhythm section definitely sounds way better.I don’t know why Great White didn’t called this great engineer in first place (surely rushed by their label) but never it’s too late: “Elation – George Tutko Remixes” sounds like it should be now.

Great White is an American hard rock band, formed in Los Angeles in 1977. The band gained popularity during the 1980s and early 1990s. Album:

1987 release comprising the "On Your Knees" EP (tracks 1-5) from 1982, portions of a 1983 show (tracks 6-10) and a 1986 cover version session (tracks 11-15).Recovery: Live! is a live album released by the American hard rock band Great White originally in 1988. Several versions of the album were released, with variations in both covers and track listings. The US version features five cover songs recorded direct-to-2-track in 1986, as well as five live songs from 1983. The CD release added the songs from the EP On Your Knees (re-issue of the original Out of the Night EP) as a bonus, though another version of the CD exists that lists the EP, but does not actually contain it. It only contains the ten songs found on the original vinyl LP, and has a different mastering than the 15-track disc. The ten track CD variation is the Columbia Record Club edition. The European release replaces tracks 6–10 with five songs from a 1987 Marquee show (the same show as disc two of the ...Twice Shy limited edition). The Japanese version is a strange hybrid and includes five tracks from the US version, two tracks from the Live at the Ritz promo CD, and five studio tracks from the Shot In The Dark and Once Bitten albums.
