Distilling oldschool hard rock and borrowing from the genre's greats, ROLLYWOODLAND managed to pique my interest thanks to a job well done. Admittedly, it's not their unlikely name or their 80s cover that has hooked me.Having already released an album in 2012, they're back with Dark Fate For Judgement Day, a 15-track album that lasts nearly an hour and goes by itself. Even if they're not going to revolutionise a genre that can't be revolutionised any more, it's fair to say that 80s fans are in for a treat.Between Motley-Crue, Bon Jovi and all the glam/hard rock bands of the 80s, ROLLYWOODLAND are above all having fun, and you can hear it. It's a bit like a cover band that only plays original creations.We laugh at a song like JCVD, which shows that these guys don't take themselves too seriously. You light up the lighter on a ballad like When You Cry (damn that sax!), and sway to the almost disco Nunchaku. In short, it's a good time.It may not revolutionise the genre, but it's worthy, cheap and well performed, so we'd be wrong to deprive ourselves.
