Released October 21, 2022.Recorded, mixed and mastered with Rafa Camisón at Estudio 79.Artwork: Alberto Oviedo.I've listened to them and they are very good musicians, despite their youth, they are working hard and it shows in their sound and stage, their style of rock.From Cádiz comes this new band with the same old hard rock flavour, which can be related to one of the weaknesses of this house, their fellow countrymen The Electric Alley. And there is a bit of that when listening to their first song "Runaway train" where we notice certain reminiscences in Adrián Gómez's voice of Jaime Moreno's, but with their own unique style. For a first album, these "Landslide" sound compact, with two quality guitars, one for Adrián Gómez and the lead guitar for Pepe Perfumo (another illustrious surname in The Electric Alley), leaving the rhythmic base to Antonio Oviedo on drums and Alejandro Mira on bass.The good sensations of this "Play, learn, lose..." are confirmed with "Ghost", another "hard rock" cut with an overwhelming start, worked melodies and choruses that work as it happens in the homonymous theme that keeps the constant in the album of direct songs of little more or less four minutes where to deploy their changes of rhythm, calmer in this cut although without reaching the half time and with a lyrical sense that works from the first listening.The beginning of "Last choice" sounds more aggressive, although the melodic tone doesn't abandon Landslide neither in the bridge nor in the chorus. We also like the play of the chorus at the climax of the song (it must work perfectly live), a magnificent chorus and an almost phrasing that evokes a distant echo of Soundgarden themselves. "I would" leaves us with a work on the six strings closer to "heavy metal" but without leaving the essence of fusing classic rock, alternative, "stoner" and hard that the band from Cadiz propose to us.We reach the final part of "Play, learn, lose..." with the last three songs that begin with "Play, learn, lose... "with the last three songs that start with "Out of" where the nineties of the last century and the first decades of this millennium come together again in another interesting sample of the talent that the band possesses, which once again offers us a crushing and catchy riff in "Still alive", perhaps the heaviest of the whole LP, which also has a chanting chorus and an anthological ending, leaving for the "final blow" "Heartshoot", the longest of the work as it exceeds five minutes, which as you can imagine is the most rested in the "tempos", something that can be seen in the entrance as we are facing the longest instrumental as the voice enters about forty seconds to leave us the most "stoner" cut of the eight tracks that make up this "Play, learn, lose...", short in length, as it is not the most "stoner" of the eight tracks that make up this "Play, learn, lose...".
