Oliver Hartmann (born June 28, 1970 in Rüsselsheim) is a German metal vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and producer who performed in various acts, either as guitarist, solo or choir singer. He is best known for his role as founder of the band At Vance (together with Olaf Lenk), his current band Hartmann and his guest appearances on albums of several prominent metal bands, including Freedom Call, Edguy, Rhapsody, Genius rock opera, Iron Mask, Aina's metal opera Days of Rising Doom and the metal opera Avantasia where he participated as a vocalist in 4 albums and also as a guitarist of the live and studio line up. He is also guitarist and vocalist with the Pink-Floyd tribute band Echoes.Hartmann began his career as guitarist in several local bands but since the age of 18 concentrated more on his singing. Among others he played in bands as Hanz Damf, Tuned, and Centers, the latter with which he made his first international appearances. He reached his first success with At Vance, in which he sang from 1999 to 2002. Since leaving At Vance on personal reasons, he concentrated mostly on his solo career and on studio recording. So far he has recorded four solo albums, Out in the Cold, which was released in 2005 on the Italian Frontiers Records label, on which he also plays guitars, Home, which was released in early 2007, the live acoustic DVD/CD Handmade and the latest release 3 in late 2009. Hartmann currently also sings in Italian band Empty Tremor, which was a support act for Dream Theater during a 2004 tour in Italy.[1] With his band, Hartmann he also supported TOTO during their European tour 2006, House of Lords and The Hooters in 2007. During the past two years, the band HARTMANN played numerous festivals and shows as support of bands such as MOTHER’S FINEST, URIAH HEEP and Y&T.After the release of the actual AVANTASIA double album "Angel of Babylon/The wicked symphony" and a second world tour in December 2010 the live DVD „The flying opera - Around the world in 20 days“, recorded during the first tour in 2008, was released in early 2011 and climbed up many European charts to No 1.In January 2012, Oliver Hartmann also joined ROCK MEETS CLASSIC (feat. After numerous tours as part of Avantasia, Rock Meets Classic and as mastermind of the successful Pink Floyd Tribute Echoes the exceptional singer and guitarist Oliver Hartmann now presents his new fifth studio album "Shadows & Silhouettes" with Hartmann after nearly four years break since the latest release "Balance". The new album will be released on 30th of September on the artist owned label SONIC11 in cooperation with Pride & Joy Music.Supported by guest musicians as the well-known session keyboarder Jimmy Kresic (Rock Meets Classic, The Roots, Soundtopia), Miro Rodenberg (Avantasia) and also the Prague cellist Irena Morisáková and violinist Adéla Peckováthe album contains 12 extra class songs combining modern melodic Rock ("Irresisitible", "Glow" "High on you", I would murder for you") with many acoustic ("The letting go", "Shadow in my eyes", "Still the same") and partly very intimate moments ("Jaded heart", "Last goodbye") pointing up the broadness and complexity of Hartmann. The catchy single "When your mama was a hippie" will also be released as video clip.The album has been co-produced again by Sascha Paeth (Avantasia, Edguy, Kamelot, Beyond The Black, etc.) and mixed/mastered at Gate Studios Wolfsburg/Germany.

The history of Hartmann started in 2005 with the debut "Out In The Cold", often reviewed as 'Album of the month' in a wide range of rock magazines all over the world. To be released next April 24, 2020, “15 Pearls And Gems” is the new HARTMANN album celebrating their anniversary. Co-produced by Sascha Paeth (Avantasia, Beyond The Black, Kamelot), this special release includes five new songs, five well-chosen cover tracks, and five live versions of HARTMANN songs that have been recorded on their concerts during the last years.15 Pearls & Gems contains the singles “Walking on a Thin Line” and the duet “When the Rain Begins to Fall”, a special cover version of the 80s pop classic featuring Ina Morgan, member of Avantasia and one of Germany’s greatest female rock vocalists.The live recordings also include the outstanding duet “Brothers” feat. Celebrating HARTMANN‘s 15th anniversary and released tomorrow at the same time of the their new album ’15 Pearls And Gems’, Pride & Joy Music is reissuing Hartmann’s “3“, the third album from the band originally appeared in 2009, now remastered.The album was mixed by Sascha Paeth (Avantasia, Beyond The Black, Kamelot), and on the track ‘Brothers’ Oliver Hartmann sings in a duet with Tobias Sammet, Avantasia’s mastermind.Following a successful career with his other band, metallers At Vance, German vocalist / guitarist Oliver Hartmann’s own band HARTMANN always was definitely melodic hard rock oriented with some AOR touches, two genres which according to Oliver, marked his youth.That’s not different with this, the band 3rd official studio album, rightly titled “3”.Hartmann’s “3” follow the same equation that made the two predecessors successful, melodic and catchy at the same time, and lending his blessed powerhouse voice to these songs.The pretty straight forward rocker “Won’t Get Fooled Again” opens the CD with a gutty fast rhythm and a classic, traditional melodic hard rock structure. “From Outta Of Space” shines the spotlight straight on Oliver with his Coverdale-esque pipes, a nice stop and go bass line adds a nice background to this highlight, reminds of some of Whitesnake’s powerful and catchy tunes from back in the day.Marking the first power ballad is the enjoyable “All I Can Say”, a laid back tune with a melancholy vocal performance by Hartmann.Trying something different, “Right Here Right Now” is quite mechanical and robotic, but very ’80s at the same time. One of the most original songs on the record.Listening to “Don’t Give Up Your Dream” takes me back to the kick ass atmosphere of Whitesnake’s song ‘Judgement Day’. With its eery and very similar intro, Oliver’s voice is so spot on, again, very Coverdale.The build up atmosphere on the track “Brothers” gains even more momentum with Oliver’s good buddy Tobias Sammet of Edguy who lends his godly voice here to form a powerful duet, paying him back for his work in the popular Avantasia project, which Oliver was involved in its origins.Intense and melodic, “3” is a rocking album from Hartmann where Oliver’s vocal prowess is evident and his bandmates deliver a tight performance. Production is very polished -, and yes, it has been remastered for this reissue as it sounds punchier and clearer than the original release.
