."Girish and The Chronicles" is a Hard Rock band, founded by the Lead Vocalist / Guitarist / Songwriter - Girish Pradhan, on the 18th of octber 2009 in Gangtok, Sikkim (India).Presently based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, GATC is a four member band, known for their electrifying live shows. Heavily influenced from bands such as Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Guns and Roses..Their originals don't have much limitations in subjects ranging from day to day struggles, wars, to relations and the onstage / backstage / offstage rock and roll band experiences.With a mixture of Power Ballads sounding material and Hard Rock / Classic Metal sound, they targeted fans striving to hear a sound that was closer to the '70s, '80s era, since there was hardly any band left who would offer such a sound.Starting from their first single "Angel", they started recording singles from the year 2009. The song went to the Great Eastern Rock compilation vol II, making it their first known original composition.The band soon gained a lot of attention and new fans. Immediately participating in some festivals, they soon started getting headlining acts.They later decided to take in "Golden Crown" into their playlist, which was a track for the Sikkim Football association. As much as football was craze in their hometown, they soon started playing the song in every concert/gig they performed.While they were already performing "I wanna get that lovin' again", "Ride to hell", they did not record the tracks for a very long time.Soon, in mid-2010, Their single "Yesteryears" was nominated and awarded a Silver Trophy, in the Suncane Skale festival, Montenegro, Europe. This gave the band a lot more publicity resulting in public awareness.After having performed in almost the entire half of the country in the year 2010, they ventured into the southern part of the country, doing a month long promotional tour in the city of Bengaluru at around end September, 2011.It is at this time period they recorded their singles "Loaded", "Ride to Hell" and "I wanna Get that loving". Soon, in the coming week they recorded "A new beginning", on hearing the NEWS about an earthquake in their home town, claiming a lot of lives."Loaded", "I wanna get that lovin' again" and "A new beginning" were the only ones to be released.End 2011 saw the vocalist venturing into other Asian countries namely Hong Kong and South Korea (With Silver Tears, Yamaha Asian Beats 2011).Signing up with some venues, the band soon traveled to Hong Kong for year long stay. Girish occasionally came back to India giving solo performances. Finally deciding to leave Hong Kong, he came back to India, and at end 2012, starting with a solo performance in PEC fest, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.Soon after a month, the band, who were on a vacation, decided to comeback and start recording again. They started off with a concert in the city of Siliguri, which lies near to their hometown.The band started the year 2013 with a three month long recording, with new songs and Re-Mastering of their older tracks.Their singles which now sum up to fourteen tracks, has been released as an album in 2014 under Universal Music Group.The Album is named as 'Back On Earth'.

Earlier in 2021, Girish had this to say about "Hail To The Heroes" ahead of the band heading into the studio: "It will have all the musical elements that we love to hear, in our day to day lives, which of course revolves around good old rock 'n' roll. From the Sunset Strip to NWOBHM and more. Our audience can expect some great anthems!" And GATC has more than delivered on that promise. "Hail To The Heroes", the band's third album overall, sees the band taking huge leaps forward from their previous album "Rock The Highway" (2020). The album grabs you from the opening notes of opener "Primeval Desire" and never lets go, just like their musical heroes classic albums have always done. "Hail To The Heroes" is a sonic journey that you will be thrilled taking over and over again. Girish continues: "We are a hard rock / melodic rock / heavy metal band. We like making the kind of music that we grew up listening to, which revolves around the 80s. However, we do like including a song or two that may have a very different vibe. Could be in the form of a progressive song or maybe a riff that has a bit of 'India' in it. All in all, we think of it as a rollercoaster ride with the meanest in-your-face songs to beautiful ballads. Acclaimed hard rockers Girish And The Chronicles have announced the upcoming release of a re-record of their debut album "Back On Earth". Originally released in 2014, "Back On Earth" was the first album to introduce GATC to a larger global hard rock audience and kicked off their still ongoing rock 'n' roll journey. When asked why the band decided to re-record the album as opposed to simply remastering and reissuing it, frontman Girish Pradhan says: "We wanted the whole thing to have a fresh new start. Although we wanted to keep most of the vocal takes, we have been introducing a lot of musical changes to these songs in live performances. So we thought: why not do the same in the new recordings? We always felt that we had technical challenges back in the day and couldn't deliver the hard hitting sound that we had originally intended, so we introduced some new breakdowns, chord sequences, solos and bass & drum parts to these songs that make them feel closer to where we are now. We didn't want to mess around too much with the vocals though, which is why I only re-recorded the vocals for 'Angel' and 'Loaded'. As a whole, the whole thing sounds quite different from the 2014 version, but all in all, it stays true to the spirit of the songs, however, we feel that it is closer to the vision we had back in the day."Thinking back on the making of their debut album, Girish says: "Each song has its own story. Most of them were singles, released during the 2009-2013 era of the band. We had a lot of struggles, but we were living our lives to the fullest. More than anything, we were a group of four guys, without a care in the world, who just wanted to get on stage and rock. 'Angel' was the first song ever released. I wrote that tune around 2008. It was actually supposed to be a solo song at that time, but by the time we all assembled, we officially called it the band's first ever single. 'Golden Crown' might sound funny to a lot of our new listeners, but it was actually a song by two teenagers (me and my brother, Yogesh), meant as a jingle for a local football championship named the Gold Cup, organised by the Sikkim Football Association. I wrote the 'Loaded' riff and some of its lyrics in 2010, when we were in the process of applying for our first passports. Two of our band members lacked some documents and were told to go back to Sikkim and reapply all over again. We were quite frustrated, thinking of the long journey and the amount of running around we had been doing, for something so simple, plus we were broke as hell. Anyway, the circumstances did help me write the song, and the lines: 'There's no point in complaining. And shedding tears while it's raining. There is nothing to lose. 'Cause I was the one to choose.' I guess this will be very long to read if I start writing about each and every song, so we'll leave some of it to our fans to interpret!"Originally from Sikkim, but now based in the city of Bangalore/Bengaluru in Karnataka, India, GATC is known for soaring, powerful vocals, biting guitars, thunderous bass and pounding drums, staying true to the authentic 80s heavy metal/hard rock sound which they grew up with.
