Bio:

Already being talked about are the powerful quintet named Tainted Nation. Assembled firstly in his head by Pete Newdeck, it wasn't too long before this aspiration became a stark reality. Drummer of Eden's Curse - Pete had been busily writing and demoing material with friend and also Lionsheart Guitarist Ian Nash, putting together an album of powerful commercial yet modern heavy material. The twist being that this time Newdeck had sung. This material was given an overwhelming thumbs up by friends and music media collegues to the point where Newdeck and Nash wanted this to take a further route. Having bonded a friendship on the Stratovarius/Firewind/Eden's Curse tour with Firewind powerhouse drummer Mark Cross, who also worked with the Scorpions, Helloween a.o. Newdeck quickly approached his first choice Cross - Mark wanted in without question. He was overwhelmed by the identity of the music along with his surprise of Newdeck's vocal ability and talents.Pontus Egberg - former bassist of The Swedish sensations The Poodles, now in King Diamond, was also enthused by the fresh sound and what this band had to offer. Again he wanted in and soon after with the addition of a fifth member on second guitar, with Joel Peters this formidable line up was complete. The band announced the line up in 2010, with their intentions to complete recording as soon as possible. The debut album F.E.A.R. was released on January 25,2013 and gained great interest within the media. Having already given interviews to media and radio stations. Recorded in Athens, Stockholm and Tewkesbury England, produced by Pete Newdeck and mixed by none other than Dennis Ward, who's list of stunning album mixes and production is endless and widely talked about.Say's Pete: 'I feel lucky to have had such jaw dropping contributions to this album-by everyone involved . It has grown into something that we, as a band are extremely proud of'.Press are already alikening the identity to Sixx A.M., Shinedown, Bullet For My Valentine along with many past and classic influences, with a strong commercial vane running right through the middle. The band's aspirations are to get out live and start the talking!! "We wanna show everybody what this band's got in store and why we believe so much in Tainted Nation' says Cross.Tainted Nation played shows on Festivals and eight headline dates in Spain in 2014 supporting their first album and two Video clips of the song "Loser" and "Dare You", which were released in February and December 2013.At present Tainted Nation are busy touring across the UK and recording their second album, no release date has been set yet, but is expected sometime in 2015.

Abum:

TAINTED NATION is Hard Rock band hailing from the both the UK and Sweden consisting of rather well known musicians from the Rock / Metal worlds: Pete Newdeck (EDEN'S CURSE, GRIM REAPER, KILLERS, Steve Grimmett), Pontus Egberg (THE POODLES, LIONS SHARE, ZAN CLAN), Ian Nash (Steve Grimmett, LIONHEART) and the skin man Mark Cross (FIREWIND, OUTLOUD, HELLOWEEN, KINGDOM COME). Their music is a deliverance of Hard Rock mixed with power and modernized echoes. Just recently they unleashed their debut via Massacre Records, “F.E.A.R.”.“Dare You” opened the gates with power riffs driven by elements of modern mixing with a fine melodic voice pattern of Pete Newdeck at the helm. The chorus is totally brilliant. “You Still Hang Around” followed former's lead yet with a spectacular guitar solo hammering in the style of THE POODLES. There were a few electronic add-ons that reminded of the cover of the Industrial DOPE to the 80s hit “You Spin Me Round”. “Loser” will make your heyday, pure power with a melodic edge with a smashing chorus. Worth to listen is also “Who’s Watching You”, a fast paced Heavy Metal attack while “Your Only Friend” continues ramming forward with a memorable chorus planted and executed with modern techniques and a grand wall of sound. “Don’t Forget Where You Came From” bites the flesh with low tuned guitars along with an atmosphere inspired by a mixture of QUEEN and AMARANTHE. There are also a few fresh ideas and sounds of keys with plenty of power in the vein of PINK CREAM 69. “Never Promised You Anything” shares the sensations of the THE POODLES. Energetic chorus & fantastic guitars of the “Haunted” reminded me the melodies of OZZY OSBOURNE's latest hit, “Let Me Hear You Scream”. “Don’t Tell Me” seemed a bit different, still straightforward but also way progressed and complex than the rest of them, a great guitar solo on top of a wonderful rhythm section. “What Are You Waiting For” is your average modern Heavy Metal onslaught, pretty nice, well played and a showcase of the members' musical experience. I also found rudiments of HELLOWEEN, NICKELBACK and EDGUY.I'm totally surprised by album of TAINTED NATION. The production is in a high level, and the material shows plenty of character. I'm sure that everyone who is a fan of Hard Rock, with bits of melodic, yet tough, Heavy Metal would like to take on this album. Sincerely, this is a must.

Abum:

Tainted Nation is the brain child of ex Eden’s Curse drummer Pete Newdeck. I first heard Pete step away from the kit and take up the mike on Jay Palmar's ‘Circle of Fire’ album. On The Outside is the band’s second outing and is a follow up to the critically acclaimed 2012 release F.E.A.R. The line-up is as follows. Pete Newdeck – vocals, Mark Cross – drums, Pontus Egberg – bass, Ian Nash and Joel Peters – guitars. Expect to hear hard-edged Melodic Metal with echoes of Shinedown and Sixx AM woven with a British sensibility that has solo Ozzy at its roots. The album opens with 'Live And Die'. A song co-written by Hammerfall’s Pontus Norgren. The song especially in the vocal bears strong resemblance to works by the Prince of Darkness circa Bark At The Moon. The rhythm section of Egberg and Cross start this sonic bombardment and huge riffage from Nash and Peters continues the assault finely compliment by a Dam-busting vocal by Newdeck. Next up is ‘Defiance’ which is another monumental slab of Modern Metal. Paying dues to Alterbridge and deft switches of tempo employed to great effect ala Shinedown. Outlined by tasteful keyboards and astutely pulled together by Newdeck’s multi-textured vocal. The title track ‘On The Outside’ features Vega’s Nick Workman supplying the backing vocals. The Metal is dialled back a bit and the Melodic is turned up to 11 on this one even though it’s still powered by driven drums and thumping bass, the guitars starting off blocked and heavy before the twiddley bits of the solo. To say the total package is Ozzy-esque is no small compliment. The album also has a cover of the Billy Squier classic ‘The Stroke’ completely overhauled, supercharged and rebored with massive chunky riffs delivered by Nash and Peters and Newdeck’s powerful vocals making this version totally their own. ‘Going To Hell’ opens with a drum part lifted from ‘Devil gate Drive’ then the bass steams in and from then on big modern Metal riffage is the order of the day. This is really the kind of sound Ozzy should be aiming at with Gus G in his line-up. ‘Pulling Me Under’ sees Newdeck sharing vocals with Issa and the combination is Dynamite. Starting off with a ferocity reminiscent of 5 Finger Death Punch then heading into Shinedown territory the pace and intensity never let up and the vocal interplay is sheer a sheer delight. Last but not least ‘Back To Earth’ starts off a guitar part that reminds me of Iommi’s playing on the Seventh Star album. The most Melodic track on the album it may be but this is an anthem in epic proportions and just draws you in again and again. The drumming like all the album is a tour de force but on this track it has all the power of Powell and his musicality. In some ways it reminds me of Tony Martin era Sabbath a time sadly neglected in the band’s cannon.Tainted Nation fully taking on-board all these Metal influences are still ploughing their own distinct furrow. The album is more polished than the raw power of the refreshing F.E.A.R and finds the band more confident in what they doing creating a fine alloy of Hard Rock and Modern Metal that has a timeless quality drawing on the past yet looking forward to the future.
