Bio:

Rhino Bucket is a hard rock band from Van Nuys, Los Angeles, California. The band was formed in February 1988 by Georg Dolivo (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Reeve Downes (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Greg Fields (lead guitar, backing vocals). This lineup played the Los Angeles rock scene for a year with contemporaries such as Junkyard and The Four Horsemen. Warner Brothers signed the band in 1989 and they released their self-titled debut album in 1990 with Liam Jason AKA Jackie Enx from Warrior on drums.Their second album, 1992's Get Used To It, was written and recorded in Memphis with producer Terry Manning. The album contained "Ride With Yourself" which was featured in the hit movie and multi platinum soundtrack Wayne's World. In 1993, drummer Simon Wright (AC/DC, Dio) joined the band and appeared on the 1994 album Pain. The band continued extensive touring, but by 1996 the band went on what turned out to be an extended hiatus.Rhino Bucket reformed in 2001 with Brian "Damage" Forsythe from Kix joining the original lineup of Dolivo, Downes and Enx on lead guitar replacing the departing Fields (aka Fidelman) who had gone on to a successful producing and engineering career. The band worked on a few movie soundtracks including the pot cult film Rolling Kansas and the title song for the movie The Outdoorsmen - Blood, Sweat & Beers. Again the band became a fixture on a now quite different L.A. rock scene. In April 2006 Rhino Bucket released And Then It Got Ugly and then proceeded to tour with like minded friends Broken Teeth, Supersuckers and Kix. 2007 saw the release of two new CDs Pain & Suffering and No Song Left Behind. The former is an enhanced (5 new tracks) of their 1994 album Pain, while the latter is a compilation of unreleased songs and live performances. In July of the same year Simon Wright reunited with the band at the Rocklahoma festival. Rhino Bucket released The Hardest Town in May 2009 with Wright behind the kit. The band was also featured on The Wrestler soundtrack and album during this time. In 2010 the band returned to Europe for the first time in over 15 years with a 45 date tour that travelled to 14 countries.Rhino Bucket released their sixth studio album Who's Got Mine? in January 2011 to enthusiastic reviews by both press and fans. The band then embarked on two European tours making 71 appearances most notably at the Sweden Rock Festival where they played for over 10,000 fans. A 31 show American tour followed in the Summer and Fall.Rhino Bucket continues to tour regularly, having recently completed a 48 city tour of Europe in support of their latest release, a live album entitled "Sunrise on Sunset" (2013). The band is currently playing select dates in America, including the 2015 Monsters of Rock Cruise and the M3 Festival in Baltimore while working on their newest record.

Album:

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. In the case of Rhino Bucket that could almost be true, with their uncompromising brand of riff-rock making them a close second cousin to Bon Scott era AC/DC. Not that they are mere impersonators of the great Australian rockers, far from it. For Rhino Bucket it's all about the cut and thrust of rock at its most ferocious and untamed. Formed in Los Angeles during the closing years of the 1980s, Rhino Bucket stuck out like a sore thumb by daring to ignore makeup and hairspray, adopting instead a rough hewn look and approach, a style that set them apart from the baying hordes looking to out glam each other. This was a band content to steer clear of the usual clichés and focus instead on killer riffs and uncompromising energy. Produced by Daniel Rey (Ramones, Circus Of Power, Raging Slab) and signed to Warner Brothers Records, this, their debut album, was issued in 1990 to a great reaction from the rock fraternity. Sure, the AC/DC comparisons might, to an extent, have been justified but the band’s relentless attack and pummelling riffs injected a fresh take on a tried and tested formula. With songs such as ‘One Night Stand’, ‘Train Ride’ and ‘Ride The Rhino’ they take no prisoners, leaving all of their competition in the dust. Special Deluxe Collector’s Edition, fully remastered sound, 12 page full colour booklet, 3,500 word essay about the making of the album, new interviews and enhanced artwork. This is basically the album AC/DC never got to make with deceased singer (and rock'n'roll God) Bon Scott. Rhino Bucket's self titled debut is a celebration of their heroes' sex'n'booze-fueled three-chord mayhem, and singer Georg Dolivo's nasal growl is a dead-ringer for the above-mentioned Scott. Which brings us to the inevitable question…"Is this a good record?", to which the answer is a resounding yes. Seeing as the band is perfectly open about the source of their influence, both casual listeners and avowed AC/DC fanatics can enjoy the record for it's obvious musical merits. The opening riff to "One Night Stand" alone is worth the price of admission, but stay tuned for other gems like "Beg For Your Love," "Blood On The Cross" and "Inside/Ouside." In fact, the band only breaks away slightly from the AC/DC blueprint for the frenetic closer "Ride The Rhino."
