Bio:

The Dead Daisies are a powerful musical collective featuring some of the best rock musicians on the planet. Born from a sound that’s influenced by late ‘70s and early ‘80s hard rock, with a soulful Bad Company meets Foreigner via The Faces kind of vibe, featuring big choruses, powerful melodies and strong hooks. In early 2013 The Dead Daisies were invited to open for ZZ Top in Australia. Word about their dynamic live show spread quickly and the band soon joined legendary American rockers Aerosmith on their first Australasian tour in 23 years. In August and September of 2013 The Dead Daisies were part of the massive 25-date Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival through the US and Canada alongside Alice In Chains & Jane’s Addiction among others. The debut album was released in the US and Canada through Caroline/Universal on August 9th, 2013 to exceptional reviews and was a featured iTunes release. Their first single “Lock ’N’ Load”, a new track co-written by and featuring legendary guitarist Slash received airplay on radio networks across the US including national airplay on SiriusXM satellite radio, with both Alice Cooper’s and Nikki Sixx’s popular syndicated radio programs and was named Rolling Stone’s Daily Download. The video for the single has been shown on over 20 outlets including play on Much Music, which beams into more than 30 million homes across North America.Mid November saw The Dead Daisies head to the UK where they played an 18-date tour as special guests of Black Star Riders. To kick it off, the bands first headline UK show at the prestigious Underworld rock club in Camden was SOLD OUT.The band released their self-titled debut album “The Dead Daisies’ on November 11th in the UK after having released the first single “Lock ‘N’ Load” a month earlier. The song stormed the UK radio airwaves and was placed on a number of key playlists including Team Rock, Kerrang Radio, and went to number 1 on Planet Rock Radio. It has also received spins on the nations largest station BBC Radio. In addition to radio, “Lock ‘N’ Load” were played throughout English football stadiums and even received a play to a sold out 80,000 plus crowd at Wembley Stadium for the NFL’s American football match between the San Francisco 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars on the 27th of October 2013 in London. The Dead Daisies were also heavily featured in the November issue of Britain’s influential Classic Rock Magazine and were the spotlight artist for both Classic Rock and Metal Hammer’s websites. The Dead Daisies headed to Israel after the UK to play two shows in Tel Aviv and ended 2013 with a SOLD OUT epic headline show at The Barby. The band released singles “Washington” in the US & Australia and “It’s Gonna Take Time” in The UK. Live music videos for both songs were filmed during their London show at O2 Shepherd’s Bush. “Washington” was added to over a dozen US Rock radio stations and received airplay on Triple M in Australia. “It’s Gonna Take Time” made the playlist on both Planet Rock and Team Rock Radio in the UK.February 2014 saw the band return to Australia playing dates in support of their debut album, which was released on Feb 7th.The ‘Face I Love’ ep was released in conjunction with an innovative free app, giving fans all around the world the opportunity to be part the next release by the band. A music video was produced using many of the images sent in by fans through the app. Airplay for the bands music continues to grow steadily on various radio networks throughout the world including the USA, Europe, Australia and Japan among others. In July, the band embarked on a tour across the USA as special guests of Bad Company and Lynyrd Skynyrd playing their first arena shows in the States and was followed by a month long stint in August with one of the hottest rock tours of 2014, opening for KISS and Def Leppard.Ahead of their second tour of Australia and New Zealand at the end of the year, the band made their first ever trip on the KISS Kruise, spending four days at sea and in the Bahamas along with the legendary rock band Kiss, members of Cheap Trick and Pat Travers winning more new fans. The ‘Angel in Your Eyes’ tour would see the band (in the same line-up as the summer) visit New Zealand for a second time, this time as guests to good friend and Aussie superstar Jimmy Barnes. The tour continued in Australia with the band playing headline shows in Perth and Brisbane for the first time and returning to Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. As with every other year in The Dead Daisies, 2015 is no different. With many big plans ahead of them, what could be more historic than a visit to Cuba. Within months of trade restrictions being relaxed by the Obama administration, the band made a landmark visit to the Caribbean Island to play a number of shows at the end of February before heading to Australia to record their second album. The majority of the second album ‘Revoluciòn’ was written and recorded over four weeks in Sydney with Richard Fortus, Marco Mendoza, David Lowy, Dizzy Reed and John Corabi along with Jackie Barnes on drums. In June, The Dead Daisies will return to Europe joining KISS on their 40th Anniversary Tour. First time collective member Tommy Clufetos (Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne) will be joining on drums. Australian Daisies fans will get to see the band perform with KISS across Australia in October when they bring the Spider Down Under for the first time, they will then set sail once again on the latest KISS Kruise (V) to the Bahamas. To close up 2015, The Dead Daisies will make a return trip to Europe as guests of rock legends Whitesnake.

Album:

Throwback rockers THE DEAD DAISIES have become a hot topic largely because of Slash gracing "Lock 'n Load" on their self-titled debut album. Of course, former INXS and NOISEWORKS singer Jon Stevens is another notable, while a revamp to the band's touring lineup has brought over Dizzy Reed and Richard Fortus from GUNS N' ROSES along with Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY and WHITESNAKE), plus NINE INCH NAILS drummer Alex Carapetis. The nucleus of THE DEAD DAISIES comprises of Stevens and guitarist David Lowy (THE ANGELS, MINK and RED PHOENIX). Reportedly, they'd come up with the foundations of the twelve songs for their inaugural album within the span of few hours. In the company of producer and engineer John Fields, "The Dead Daisies" was laid down in a couple of weeks. Finding themselves swept onto AEROSMITH's Australian run this year and subsequently showcased on the 2013 Rockstar Uproar Festival, the whirling success of THE DEAD DAISIES could prove to be an immediate fruitful venture. Or it could turn out to be a flash-in-the-pan.With all the hype surrounding them, THE DEAD DAISIES don't play like the next minute matters. What's best said about their work is their concocted weave of seventies-to-eighties blues and hard rock is entertaining and occasionally explorative. While "The Dead Daisies" doesn't quite roll with start-to-finish energy, Stevens and Lowy do have undeniable passion. It helps that Jon Stevens is an expert in mixing finesse with knuckle-down in his chops. Even when the album taps along with squishy and smooth hummers like "Tomorrow" and "Yesterday", Stevens lends a subtle fang overtop, keeping a dirty verve that's accented by David Lowy's bluesy lags. All throughout the album, Stevens sings like he's got John Lee Hooker at his back, and when the album may not be firing on all thrusters, you can count on him to soar.Focused primarily on a BAD COMPANY and ALLMAN BROTHERS stack of country blues and bar rock grooves, THE DEAD DAISIES clicks best on the sweaty "Yeah Yeah Yeah" and the punchy drag of "I Can't Fight This Feeling". They come out swinging with the uppity "It's Gonna Take Time" and cut back to the same jumpy pace on "Miles In Front of Me", "Bible Row" and "Talk to Me". Along the way, they borrow from THE ROLLING STONES' late sixties psychedelics and calypso splashes on "Washington". Plus they somehow manage to turn ROD STEWART's "Forever Young" (straight down to the twinkling mandolin) into something unfathomably meatier with "Writing On the Wall".As for the highlight cut, "Lock 'n Load", the omnipresence of Slash elevates the song's swampy, double-backed feel. You know when he's there, particularly on the wailing top layers and the juicy solo section. Without Slash, however, the number wouldn't be quite as exciting; it would come off as the majority of "The Dead Daisies" does, played for kicks, not quite shooting to thrill.Therein lies any inherent criticism of this album. For what it is, "The Dead Daisies" is a good knockabout album to pull down a round of suds, even if you subtly find yourself wanting to pull down the first four BAD COMPANY records halfway into this jaunt. Jon Stevens and David Lowy know what they're doing, but they'll need to let their amped-up touring squad stoke their fires beyond their homey little foundry if there's to be a return visit to this project.

Corabi will also join THE DEAD DAISIES on their 2015 tour, which will take them on the road with KISS in Europe in Australia, where "Revolucion" is currently being recorded."THE DEAD DAISIES have been an absolute blast for me so far. Album:

Make some noise, Dead Daisies fans, because the rock supergroup have just announced their third album, Make Some Noise. Lined with 12 hard-hitting tracks, the record will be out on Aug. 5 on SPV through eOne.The band has undergone a multitude of lineup changes over the years, though the only new face this time around is guitarist Doug Aldrich (Dio, Whitesnake). Keyboardist Dizzy Reed (Guns N’ Roses) departed from the band earlier this year, but the rest of the group has stayed constant. Rounding out the remainder of the lineup is founding guitarist David Lowy (Red Phoenix, Mink), singer John Corabi (Motley Crue, Ratt), bassist Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy) and Brian Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne, Foreigner) on the drums. A teaser for the title track can be heard below and the album will boast covers of the Who’s “Join Together” and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son” in addition to their signature, raw brand of rock ‘n’ roll.“There are lots of very good reasons why this kind of rock ‘n’ roll has never gone out of fashion,” stated the Dead Daisies. “Our songs are simply timeless, immortal, classic! That’s why working with the Dead Daisies is so much fun, and that’s why the reaction is always phenomenal, no matter when and where this band turns up.”Adding his personal sentiment, Aldrich expressed, “I’m very pleased with Make Some Noise. It was a very productive time spent in Nashville and New York! The record is a straight up rock n’ roll record. Very raw and punchy. We didn’t do lots of overdubbing of the guitars which I loved… it’s really got a good vibe like the days we spent writing and recording. I think it is a cool record that adds to an already cool catalogue the band had prior. The best part is the guys are all friends and very cool to be working together again!”“For me as a vocalist, this kind of high caliber line-up is an absolute dream come true,” exclaimed Corabi, going on, “When you work with the Dead Daisies, everybody is amazingly motivated to deliver top performances.”The Dead Daisies will be out on tour this summer, serving as direct support for KISS. For a full list of dates, head to our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.

Album:

Supergroup THE DEAD DAISIES are releasing today "Live & Louder", their new CD / DVD recorded at the last year successful European tour. The album was mixed by Anthony Focx (Aerosmith, Bad Co.) at Focxhole Studios and mastered by Howie Weinberg.Formed in 2012, The Dead Daisies have endured several lineup changes, but it appears that the current lineup, consisting of David Lowy (guitar), Brian Tichy (drums), Marco Mendoza (bass), Doug Aldrich (guitar), and John Corabi (vocals) has hit its stride. Following the release of 2015’s ‘Revolucion’, and 2016’s aptly titled ‘Make Some Noise’, this band is doing exactly that. Touring extensively through Europe with Whitesnake and KISS, along with several North American dates as well, The Daisies have been wowing crowds and winning over new fans at every stop, as well as preparing for their own headlining tour in support of ‘Make Some Noise’, from May to December, 2016.The Dead Daisies are so tight and so talented, that I literally had to question whether this was one of those “record it in the studio then dub the crowd over it” releases. The album features their hits and a few cover songs, and from the hard rockin’ “Long Way to Go”, “Make Some Noise” and “Mexico” to the hard-charging “Mainline” every song on the album has something to offer. A taste of Southern rock on “Something I said” and the rock anthem “Song and a Prayer” are split between covers of “Join Together”, “Helter Skelter” and “Fortunate Son”."Live & Louder" is a document of a band in their prime, a raw slice of visceral energy, an in-your-face assault on the senses. Together they assembled a true monster in the vein of the great live albums of the '70s / 80s where you can feel the energy of the crowd becoming one with the band.Taken from various gigs, "Live And Louder" makes clear that The Dead Daisies put 110% into each performance to ensure that each show is better than the last.If you’re looking for fun, hard-driving rock – this recording is sure to please.

Album:

THE DEAD DAISIES will release their new album, "Burn It Down", on Friday, April 6 via Spitfire Music/SPV. A muscular tour-de-force, a tornado of pounding drums, pulverizing bass, screaming guitars and in-your-face raw vocals; "Burn It Down" will do just that: burn down everything in its path until there is nothing left standing. The Dead Daisies formed from a project idea by Jon Stevens and David Lowy back in 2013. Jon would only be in the band for a couple of years, but Lowy has remained throughout. The line-up changes regularly, friends of the band come and go but the outcome always remains the same: ballsy hard rock with no frills.John Corabi has finally found a home for his immense talents, after years of lending vocals to some of my all-time favorite albums from The Scream to Motley Crue and Union, John is a perfect fit for the Daisies. The same can be said for Doug Aldrich, who just completely rips on this album. The addition of Deen Castronovo on drums only adds to overall thunderous sound the band brings on “Bring It Down” and being a great singer in his own right, only makes The Dead Daisies sound that much sweeter. The band kicks things off with ‘Resurrected’ a full throttle rocker, pedal to the floor no looking back number and their just getting started. The anthemic ’Rise Up’ starts off with some chugging guitar before kicking in and having the band proclaiming it’s time to rise up from hate to love.Title track ‘Burn It Down’ starts off with a little blues guitar quickly turning into a face-smashing song.‘Judgement Day’ is the perfect example of a bass-lead classic rocker which bring to mind Badlands / Ray Gillen, whilst ‘Set Me Free’ is a Blues influences ballad of which is one of the finest examples around. The emotion is communicated through the lyrics and sound music to the point extent that you share the feelings with the band.‘What Goes Around’ is a riff-driven monsta that will keep you playing your air guitar, then ’Set Me Free’ slows things down a bit. Oh man how I miss the days when rock radio played great music like this midtempo rocker. This song would’ve been and should be a hit in any era of music.‘Can’t Take It With You’ lyrics "but you can have it all, before you go" pretty much sums it up: words to live by. Regular CD edition ends with ‘Leave Me Alone’ another killer tune and one of my favourite tracks from this record, the start is groovy dirty guitars and a classic rock rhythm with a catchy chorus. This Digipak edition comes with a bonus track: a cover of The Beatles classic 'Revolution'. In the Dead Daisies hands it turns almost unrecognizable with its broken riff and Corabi's raspy vocals. Great version. With incredible riffs, unreal solos and an overarching groove that just makes you want to sing along and the toes start to tap, The Dead Daisies show why "Burn It Down" is so highly anticipated and the upcoming live shows will undoubtedly be extremely well attended. It's a hot, kick ass album that is a bit short and leaves you hungry for more, but when every song kicks your ass like this….. who am I to complain?

Album:

The Dead Daisies have been touring and recording since 2013 when David Lowy put the first line-up of the band together. Now, as the various current members of the band take a year out to concentrate on other musical projects, we have this ten song covers album including three live recordings. However, many fans of the bands will already have most of what is on here, as for example ‘Midnight Moses’ (Sensational Alex Harvey Band) and ‘Evil’ (Howlin’ Wolf) both appeared on the band’s 2015 album ‘Revolución’. The previously released songs have all been remastered and you do get two previously unreleased live songs – ‘Rockin’ In The Free World’ and ‘Highway Star’.John Corabi’s earthy vocals certainly suits ‘Midnight Moses’ and listening to this, along with the rollicking run through Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Fortunate Son’, I did think he would be ideally suited to a Nazareth cover, say ‘Hair Of The Dog’. Beatles purists may want to avert their ears as they lay waste to ‘Helter Skelter’, although the swapping of guitar for the Hammond parts on the live version of Deep Purple’s ‘Highway Star’ works well.Hardly an essential purchase for existing Dead Daisies fans and not sure a covers only album would win over new fans, maybe a best of would have been a better idea? Or even recording a host of new covers? Still it keeps the band in the public eye until they decide to record and/or tour again.

Line Up:

Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio) - guitar
John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, The Scream) - lead vocals

05. Helter Skelter
06. Bitch
07. American Band (Live)
08. Revolution

Album:

THE DEAD DAISIES - the hard rock "collective" founded by Australian musician and businessman David Lowy - has released the official music video for the song "Holy Ground (Shake The Memory)".The track is taken from the band's fifth album,"Holy Ground", which is due on January 22, 2021.The album was recorded at La Fabrique Studios in the south of France with producer Ben Grosse. The follow-up to 2018's "Burn It Down", will be the band's first to feature Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION), who joined the group last year as its new bassist and vocalist, replacing John Corabi (MÖTLEY CRÜE) and Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY)."Holy Ground (Shake The Memory)" was the first song Glenn wrote for the album during the pre-production sessions at Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles.Hughes says: "'Holy Ground' has an intense groove, dramatic light and shade and a massive chorus. It's about awakening to the present moment, shaking the memory and a transformation into consciousness."With this crazy year nearly over, this track is aptly named and highlights living in the moment and making the most of it. Its positive message is a reinforcement to enjoy what life has to offer at any given time.Aldrich states: "'Holy Ground' is a deep intense musical ride that takes unexpected turns and drops you off exhausted but happy."This past September, THE DEAD DAISIES released another new single, "Bustle And Flow". The track arrived two months after the release of THE DEAD DAISIES' "The Lockdown Sessions" digital EP. That effort contained four acoustic tracks, all of them exclusive to this EP: "Unspoken", "Righteous Days" and a version of the HUMBLE PIE classic "30 Days In The Hole". The EP rounded out with a stripped back version of "Fortunate Son", featuring Castronovo on lead vocals. In an interview with "The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show" at this past January's NAMM convention in Anaheim, California, Hughes spoke about how he came to be involved with THE DEAD DAISIES. He said: "They wanted someone in, and they were asking me about a year ago if I would be interested in doing this. And I've been doing the 'Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple' [shows] for a couple of years, and I thought it would be appropriate for me to take a break from that and do something other than [that]. And I got together with the guys and we had a play. I've known Doug a long time, as you know. And it just fell together beautifully. It's a beautiful piece of music. I can't wait for people to hear it."Asked what the new DEAD DAISIES material sounds like, Glenn said: "It's classic rock and it's a groovy album. It's got a lot of melodies to it. It's what you can imagine with me joining them — what could have happened and what has happened. It's a very interesting piece of music."Hughes told "That Jamieson Show" about the lyrical themes covered on "Holy Ground": "Since I've been clean and sober now almost 30 years, I think in PURPLE, in the '80s and '70s, I wrote about fiction. Then, when I got sober, the more time I have under my belt, and the years I have under my belt, I'm really, really honing in on life — what happens between life and death: fear, no fear, love, faith, hate, giving. And THE DEAD DAISIES album is one story after another."I know you've interviewed a lot of people that have done their work, and their work is about to be released, and they're looking at this work going, 'Wow! I'm writing this stuff, and it really means something now.' Well, funny enough, the record I wrote with THE DEAD DAISIES, the songs that you go, 'Surely he wrote this when the [coronavirus] crisis started.' No, I wrote this [in] August [2019]."So the album is self-explanatory," Hughes added. "It's about autobiographical stuff. I do write stuff about what happens in my life. But I think people will hear it and they will relate to it, because they're probably going through the same [stuff] — whether it's fear or happiness or sadness or whatever. I'm a 'feelings' kind of dude."

Album:

To be released the next week ”Radiance” is the highly anticipated new studio album by one of the leading Rock Bands worldwide! THE DEAD DAISIES have gone from strength to strength since the release of their self-titled album in 2013. They have released five studio, one live and one covers album to a growing army of fans around the world and are praised by the global media in an era where Rock has been declared dead time and time again. The first half of 2022 has seen drummer extraordinaire Brian Tichy return to the fold, writing and recording a new album with Producer Ben Grosse in LA. Strap yourself in people, ”Radiance” is ten tracks of pure unadulterated hard rock. The thunderous rhythm attack of guitarist David Low, is accented by Doug Aldrich’s lightning licks and fretboard tease. Glenn Hughes’ rock-solid bass grooves and unmatched vocal intensity are backed up by Brian’s pulverizing beats which only intensifies the fire. This album is going to radiate some heat and take you on a rockin’ ride…The Daisies started their next chapter in 2019 welcoming Glenn Hughes, also known as “The Voice Of Rock“. Glenn took over lead vocals and bass guitar, joining guitarists Doug Aldrich and David Lowy. The monstrous, hard-hitting, powerhouse drummer, Brian Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne/ Whitesnake) has returned to the line-up for 2022. With the addition of Glenn Hughes, The Daisies supercharge their front line through his rock solid bass grooves and unmatched vocal intensity. As all fans know, the man is a true original, inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, with a rich history of music that features heavy weights like Deep Purple and Black Country Communion as well as a successful solo career. When the needle hits the groove for ‘Face Your Fear’ and the guitar bursts in, your know that 2022, already a great year for rock and roll, is going to get even better. There’s a determined thrust to ‘Face Your Fear’ that maintains the swagger of the Corabi years and adds that cool ‘Deep Purple meets Whitesnake’ slow burn bluesy rock that is at once timeless and primal. This is the sort of music that can make the young pick up those guitars and the old remember how great Rock and Roll is eternal. The slow build to ‘Hypnotize Yourself’ and the jagged and forceful chorus that punctuates it, is all power and passion. It’s a song that sees Hughes at his simmering best. If you love your Classic British Blues rock and all the heat and swagger that generates then you will love this. The wonderful ‘Shine On’ (not a Humble Pie cover) bursts out of the tracks to complete that terrific ‘three shots of rock’ opening to the record. It has a chugging steam-train of a riff that bulldozes its way out of the speakers before a clever half-time chorus shift and clever riff showcase the oh so simple hook. It’s followed by the chugging rock and roll crawl of title track ‘Radiance’. The guitars are smothering in this song, but they have to be in order for the drums to have something to work against. After all, without the foundation created by the distorted melodies in this track, I don’t think the vocal would sound nearly as driven as it does beside the beat – which is arguably what makes the most exciting friction in the mix.‘Born to Fly’ opens with big drums which are quickly shot through with guitars and an active riff that backs Hughes vocal as we slide rather than soar into a wonderfully uplifting refrain to close out the record.Half way in it already looks like another winner from The Dead Daisies.‘Kiss the Sun’ has a mammoth deep groove, and it’s rather a departure from what we’ve has so far, well at least initially, before a wonderfully lithe chorus lets that sun in. ‘Courageous’ adds a kick of funk to slide in bed with with the rock and roll, and a couple of songs in it’s clear that the ‘second side’ of the new record sounds a bit more like a Hughes-driven beast.‘Cascade’ has the kind of thrust and stomp you can feel coming before you see it and is a wonderfully assured ride but the real standout for me of the second half of the album is ‘Not Human’ which just gets it all right: a amid-tempo rocker with dynamic lighting, intrigue and which makes you feel that you just boarded a rollercoaster and simultaneously forgot to check the seat belt because of that nagging doubt you left the gas on!And that sadly just leaves the one remaining track: ‘Roll On’ another of the real gems is a stripped back rocker that allows Hughes to shine: soulful, heart wrenching and wonderfully orchestrated it’s a song I could see bothering the charts if those things matter any more.Needless to say it’s another great record from The Dead Daisies which at times hits the real high watermark. Live on stage I can only imagine these sounding even bigger. One might say: “They don’t build rockers like him anymore”. Followers can expect more High-Voltage Rock songs, indomitable grooves and spellbinding lyrics, all the ingredients that have made this music so timeless, out-living trends of the modern day.The sound of The Dead Daisies is entrenched in the Hard Rock way of life we all love but as a living, breathing rock band, they are constantly evolving & bringing new dynamics to a classic style.
