Diamonds Prod is proud to announce that hard rockers RUXT have completed the recordings for their third album, entitled “Back to the origins”, tentatively due for January 2019.Furthermore the band has announced their new drummer, Alessandro “Attila” Fanelli.A little more than a year after the splendid "Running Out Of Time", the creative vein of the Ligurian Ruxt continues unabated. If "Behind The Masquerade" had set a solid foundation and the subsequent "Running Out Of Time" had significantly improved the songwriting skills of the five piece, this "Back To The Origins" is the album of the definitive consecration. Compared to the work of 2017 the training undergoes a single change, with the rotation behind the skins between the new entry Alessandro Fanelli and Alessio Spallarossa. Choice dictated by Alessio's too many commitments that did not allow him to dedicate the right time to this project. For his part, Alexander does not regret his predecessor, demonstrating all its value.The exceptional singer Matt Bernardi (true heir of the Coverdale / Jorn school), the pair of ax man formed by Stefano Galleano (mastermind of the group) and Andrea Raffaele and the very talented Steve Vawamas on bass are still in the game. Winning training from the first song "Here And Now" (first single, released some time ago and embellished with a great video clip) where the vocal lines are interwoven to perfection in a rock song of high impact. This would be enough to be impressed by the Ruxt, but "I Will Find The Way", with its 70's charge seems to come straight out of the immense "Trouble" Whitesnake. Here Matt gives us a prodigious performance, making his registers now forgotten by David Coverdale.When the sound is modernized by turning to the sonarities brought to success by Jorn Lande, pieces like "All You Got" materialize, starting from a spectacular riff, evolving into a heavy rock ride, making the rhythmical section fully appreciate. Or the heavy and sometimes dark "River Of Love", where in addition to the keyboards (placed in the foreground), Stefano's excellent solo is noted. High quality also the subsequent "Be What You Are" (second single) and "Train Of Life" where is taken their classic sound, cleverly used to create refrain and melodies always enthralling and never dull. Then there is "Another Day Without Your Soul", a power ballad of immense pathos, where Matt is the author of a creepy interpretation, a passage certainly to be counted among the most beautiful written by the combo."Come Back To Life" and "Remember The Promise You Made" keep the cd on very high standards, giving riffs, emotions and melodies of first choice. The evocative "Tonight We Dine In Hell", with its veiled tribute to Ronnie James Dio, invests us like a river in flood, before "Back To The Origins" ends with the usual burst of adrenaline."Back To The Origins" is a work where all the passion, the heart and the inspiration of the Ligurian group trudate. Honest, complete and without any presumption, it is rightfully one of the best works of 2019. Do it yourselves, crush play and be conquered by the sounds of the Ruxt, you will not be able to remove it from the stereo.

After having thrilled us with "Back To Origins", the Ligurian Ruxt reaches the finish line of the fourth album. Compared to the previous album, there is a very important variation in the line-up. K-Cool takes the place, behind the microphone, of the prodigious Matt Bernardi. The couple formed by Stefano Galleano and Andrea Raffaele remain in their place, the great Alessandro "Attila" Fanelli behind the skins and the excellent Steve Vawamas on bass.What immediately catches the ear is the profound diversity of the new singer's timbre. K-Cool's voice possesses qualities both in terms of interpretation and versatility and the band consequently renews its sound, partially abandoning the 70's vein of past works to embrace sounds more in step with the times. What remains however is the usual underlying quality that allows the Ruxt to create visceral compositions, always permeated with pathos and sentiment. Of course, K-Cool, as the story teaches, will have to confront the talents of his predecessor and let the fans metabolize his vocal qualities, but this happens only after a few careful listening to "Labyrinth Of Pain". In any case, the boy has personality and you can already see it from the Title Track.A piece where the usual inspiration in writing simple but intriguing guitar riffs is contrasted by an atmospheric central break. “November Rain” stands out for its particular vocal intertwining while “Love Affairs” reminds us of Talisman in their most rock version, combined with a well-chosen supporting riff. You change register with "Simply Strangers"; heavy, dark and somber, but well played by the new singer. “One Step Behind” is played on a heavy rock mid tempo that has the great advantage of planting itself in the head at the first listen. The duo "Back On Track", "What You Give Is What You Get" recall the sound of previous albums thanks to the groove released. The ballad "What Keeps Me Loving You" winks at Whitesnake and convinces with its melodic openings. "Waiting" based on a rocky riff worthy of the Jorn mile and "Time To Fight Again" embellished with its Dokken inflections are the umpteenth pieces that allow the album to rise above average. "Butterflies" closes in an excellent way with its 9 minutes. An instrumental piece that does not focus on technique, but on emotional scenarios of great beauty."Labyrinth Of Pain" is to be considered as a new starting point for the Ruxt. A solid, refined starting point and the result of the work done in the past. Once again the Ligurian group demonstrates that class is not water and that with hard work and passion important results can be achieved. Will like it.

5th album for RUXT. Hard 'n' Heavy band from Italy.New line-up consist of: Stefano Galleano on guitars, Steve Vawamas (Athlantis, Mastercastle, Bellathrix) on bass guitar, Davide Dell’Orto (Drakkar, Athlantis) lead and backing vocals, and Maurizio De Palo (Hungry Daze) on drums.Pier Gonella and Federico Di Pane appear as special guests on two tracks.About two and a half years have passed since Ruxt released the album "Labyrinth Of Pain", during which time the band has worked on this new full-length, entitled "Hell's Gate", in which some significant novelties can be seen. First of all, the line-up is revolutionised for the umpteenth time: the line-up becomes four and of the previous members only Stefano Galleano and Steve Vawamas (Athlantis, Mastercastle, Bellathrix and many others) remain. Furthermore, from a stylistic point of view, there is a definite hardening of the sounds: in the past, the band, although it was broadly based in the hard rock sphere, also came close to metal sounds. Now, however, it is the latter that definitely takes over, with an approach, at least from a purely instrumental point of view, decidedly more oriented towards an eighties heavy, sometimes with strong doom veins, which could make one think of a sort of encounter between Judas Priest and Candlemass. In short, a small turning point, which leads the band to play tracks full of riffs, in which Galleano's guitar stands out both as a rhythmic protagonist and on the occasion of his many fine solos. From the vocal point of view, Davide Dell'Orto (Drakkar, Athlantis, Verde Lauro) is chosen as singer, a singer we appreciate a lot, but who in truth in several tracks of the album did not particularly convince us: if he is certainly very good with high notes and high pitches, it must also be said however that in several songs he strives for a voice that sounds 'bad', with results that appear however sometimes rather forced or at least with an effect not particularly pleasant to the listener's ear. It is also noticeable that in other songs he succeeds very well (for example in the title track or in "I've Been Losing You"), so we think that he could actually do better in this respect."Hell's Gate" is a record where Ruxt focus more than ever on power and this is made possible first of all thanks to a very solid and reliable rhythm section, where the expert Vawamas is joined on drums by the excellent Maurizio De Palo (Hungry Daze). This does not mean, however, that the band renounces other components of their sound: for example, there is a good melodic vein in the refrains of tracks such as the aforementioned "I've Been Losing You" but also in "The Musk I Live In" or "Little Girl"; or, in some songs we find piano, keyboard or hammond inserts ("Free", "Heartless", "Vikings"). Let's say that, in fact, most of the songs, while presenting a rather linear structure, are enriched by so many elements or small interludes that the average duration is also rather long. The final track, "Vikings", which is almost twelve minutes long, deserves a special mention, where even more space is given to piano turns, avalanches of riffs, changes of rhythm and solos galore, effectively enhancing everything that could be heard up to that point."Hells' Gate" could probably (at least in part) disconcert those who had followed Ruxt up to now (and indeed it did for us too, at least at first glance), but we know by now that this is a band that does not like to make photocopy records and that prefers to experiment with something different for each full-length compared to the previous album. Moreover, above all, this is a work that should be savoured without haste in order to be better appreciated.
