Marenna is a project released in October 2014 by the composer and lead singer Rodrigo Marenna in solo format, parallel work with the band Lacross Rock, who is the creator and lead singer since 2007 in Caxias do Sul. In this new challenge, Marenna will explore the most of his experience in the music business leading to public his own compositions and his unique style that combines influences from the 90’s Melodic Hard Rock (AOR) and contemporary elements of sounds and arrangements. The other focus of the project is to launch the singer in an international career.To Marenna, the big bet of the project is the involvement of regional musicians with an unique talent that play in bands that Marenna had the privilege of meeting during his artistic journey. With this support, the singer believes his contributing to the discovery of new talents and building a strong and synergistic relationship with the market through their music. Rodrigo Marenna was born in 1976, in the city of Pelotas, located in the extreme south of Brazil. Had sang in bands and choirs in his teens. Then, at 16 years old, he began his studies applied to vocal technique and he never stopped. Today, residing for more than 10 years in the mountains, in the city of Caxias do Sul, RS, Marenna divides his time between the career of lead singer of Lacross and acts producing and discovering new bands, ministering classes and workshops of vocal technique. He participated in some CDs and DVDs of bands in the underground scene in Brazil, as well as some musical shows, totaling more than 800 shows in his career.Marenna is here to stay, it is an innovative and audacious project, betting on the instrumental identity style, blended with melodies of easy perception, daring vocal technique and feeling, facing the contents about, feeling , victory and messages of optimism, the project intends to release a debut EP in early 2015.

MARENNA, the AOR / Melodic Rock band fronted by Brazil-born songwriter / vocalist Rodrigo Marenna already pleased us with their solid debut full of songs in the true traditional style of the genre. Now MARENNA are releasing "Livin' No Regrets", an album recorded live including songs from the debut CD plus new ones.MARENNA as band, in live set, sounds much more edgy and melodic hard rock oriented. There's pulsating rockers in 'Keep On Dreaming, ''Reason to Live' and the more groovy 'Can't Let You Go'.The live version of 'About Love' is still catchy yet muscular, while the anthemic 'No Regrets' rocks with '80s waves.'Never Surrender' is one of the best Marenna songs, and this live take is one of the best as well on this recording bringing to mind Hardline.'Fall in Love Again' adds welcomed keyboards for a more AOR sound, while Marenna provides variation via the sweet midtempo 'Come Back', with an early '90s melodic rock feel.Marenna play the kind of classy Melodic Rock / AOR we all love. "Livin' No Regrets" features strong compositions, however in a live set these tunes sound rawer and edgy.You can tell there's not overdubs here, this is a 'straight-to-tape' recording, and I found some flaws both in some playing and mix.Anyway, this is really all enjoyable, timeless stuff..

Rod Marenna brings us his fourth album, released by the Lions Pride Music label, following the hard rocker line of his predecessors, which means that this is a very good job.Marenna’s vocal qualities, for those of us who know the Brazilian, are impeccable, and that is also reflected in the songs that make up this “Voyager”.Starting with the strength and speed of “Breaking The Chains”, which has a chorus to sing all day, we move on to the mid tempo “Out Of Line”, which could well have been released on one of the albums from the end of the eighty. It has the Groove of that time, as well as “Gotta Be Strong”, quieter, but with a lot of melody.The current line up of the band also has Luks Diesel on keyboards, Edu Lersch on guitar, Bife on bass, and Arthur Schavinski on drums.Plagued by good choirs we have “Wait”, “I Ain’t Stranger To Love”, “Hold Me” or “Too Young To Die”, which have the classic taste of hard rock, with some touches of AOR, courtesy of Diesel.Marenna moves with much more comfort in the upper range of her voice, and that is reflected in a great way in «Perfect Crime», which seems not to require it in the least, but requires great skill to cover the range.Two different songs, one with an acoustic base «We Are United» and another with well-tuned guitars like «Wherever You Go» to close this fourth installment of Marenna.As a bonus track, a version of the Hall & Oates song «So Close» is included.They keep evolving and with very good songs.
