One Desire was started in 2012 by drummer Ossi Sivula. A couple of years were spent writing songs and making demos with different musicians and friends with an aim to create music that could change the world. Various musicians came and went along the way, but in 2014 things started to click when they met Jimmy Westerlund (Negative, Sturm und Drang, Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, Pitbull, etc.), who has several platinum and gold albums to his credit as a producer, guitarist, and songwriter. He had just moved back to Finland after a stint in Los Angeles and the band hired him to produce some songs.After recording three songs with a new musical direction, they managed to attract the attention of Serafino Perugino, owner and head of A&R at Frontiers Music Srl, but, at this point the band needed a great singer. After trying out some different options, Jimmy suggested his long time friend Andre Linman from the band Sturm und Drang (who had sold over 100,000 records and gone platinum and 2x gold in Finland) who had recently decided to go on hiatus. Andre got together for a couple of sessions with the guys and after writing a couple new songs together, the style and sound that was about to become ONE DESIRE was born. Ossi and Andre asked Jimmy to join the band in 2016 and this is the album that was born from that collaboration. Also, not long after this happened, the very talented Jonas Kuhlberg (Paul Di'Anno, Cain's Offering, MyGrain) was brought on and he became the last link in the chain.This kickass new lineup perfectly captures the original vision for the band and continues upon Linman's and Westerlund's successful legacies. Musically, the band draws musical influences from classic rock bands like Journey, Toto, and Def Leppard, but also lots of heavier, more modern bands. “Our sound is very melodic, slightly pop-ish at times, but still based on a heavy rock sound,” says singer Andre Linman.After Jimmy brought in the song “Hurt”, the band felt that that they had taken it to the next level. Andre wrote the beautiful ballad, “This Is Where The Heartbreak Begins” plus many other songs and at that time, ONE DESIRE started to find the right direction for Ossi's rocker, “Do You Believe”. Finally, in mid-2016, the band felt they finally were musically locked in and had the material to make an album that they could honestly stand behind and love beyond a shadow of a doubt.“After the album is released we will be touring heavily, so stay tuned for some shows!” concludes Linman. 2017 will be a fantastic year as the journey of ONE DESIRE just begins!

One Desire is a new melodic hard rock band and with its brand new debut record is ready to make some noise in this scene. Originally formed as OD, One Desire started its journey back in 2012 and after the 'necessary' line-up changes the band took flesh and blood and nowadays present us the debut with the title "One Desire".The sound here is basically melodic hard rock that includes soaring vocals, huge melodies and harmonic lines to die for, a crunchy guitar work and some catchy as hell hooks and choruses enough to make you scream for more!! One Desire's goal is to create a strong and extremely melodic sound that the sure thing is to gain more and more fans of this particular scene.The first sample that I've heard of these guys was "Whenever I'm Dreaming". That's it....I fell in love with this song! The harmonies, the haunting melody, the guitars and the chorus line were all just awesome! One of the best songs that I've listened to this year! Genius! "Hurt" is yet another killer one! The big 80's sound along with the anthemic vibe in it and the memorable chorus line makes "Hurt" a true gem. "Love Injection" is ridiculously catchy, commercial as it gets and its along my personal favorites from this debut. "Turn Back Time" is another 'fall in love at first time' song. A 'darker' but extremely melodic rocker with an Eclipse-esque vibe in it that makes it brilliant. I also liked a lot the modern melodic rock tune of "Straight Through The Heart" and the totally 80's "Do You Believe".One of the best debut albums that I've had the privilege of listening to since ages!! One Desire is one of these bands that have the 'whole package' to become big in the near future! Amazing record from start to finish!

Originally intended for this April, Finnish Melodic Rock / AOR trailblazers ONE DESIRE will release their new album “Midnight Empire” May 22, via Frontiers Music.In the works for a little over two years, the resulting fresh songs generously repays the long wait the fans have had to suffer for new music from the band. It’s a more mature, at times adventurous, album, but still with an unbelievable hookiness that fans know and love from the debut.This is simply one of the best albums of the year… It’s going to be quite impossible to top this.“Shadowman”, the opening song, kicks-off things with a bang. A straight forward melodic rock monster with a modern vibe including an explosive chorus that takes no prisoners.Next, we were already impressed by the advance single “After You’re Gone”, pure melodic hard rock heaven. Everything here is perfect; the hook, the huge chorus line, the guitars and, of course, the passionate vocals by Andre Linman.With “Down N’ Dirty”, One Desire is delivering yet another superb tune, this time very AOR in nature. A highlight.But with “Godsent Ecstasy” we are dealing with a killer song all the way. Indeed a true ecstasy; melodies to die for, harmonic lines that will haunt you for days and this chorus to sing-a-long all day.“Through The Fire” begins with an acoustic guitar, a slower tempo, and guitarist Jimmy Westerlund who handles the lead vocals here soulful performance, but somewhere in the middle is gettin’ heavier and powerful. A very diverse song which is really welcomed. I love it.With “Heroes” we have another highlight – and here’s many. In the vein of the band’s debut, this song is pure ear candy with its breathtaking melody.The AOR-tastic “Rio” is – yes, I can’t resist – another highlight with all the Scandi rock magic on it, while in “Battlefield Of Love” One Desire has written, probably, one of its best songs to date, anthemic, heavy and with these tasteful melodic lines enough to send you to heaven. “Killer Queen” is a simple, yet a killer indeed melodic hard rock at its best, and with the ballad of “Only When I Breath” the album closes in a such a beautiful way.To be honest, after their excellent debut record and after hearing the advanced singles, I was’t expecting anything less from One Desire. But listening to the album from beginning to end, it just kills you. Fans of the band who have had the pleasure of seeing them live already know how incredible the band is in that setting, but now fans who haven't yet had the opportunity will get to see for themselves!Back in March 2020, One Desire had hit the road with The Night Flight Orchestra in Europe in support of their then forthcoming second album, "Midnight Empire". Of course, anyone who sees 'March 2020' knows that the coronavirus pandemic was strengthening its grip on the globe at that moment in time. The tour was cut short and venues around the globe were being shut down. Unfortunately, upon getting home, the guys realized they had all caught COVID-19, but luckily, after some time, the guys all recovered.While the "Midnight Empire" release in May 2020 was as successful as it could be given the complicated circumstances surrounding the album release at that moment in time due to the various territorial lockdowns in Europe, One Desire still had a yearning to show fans how these new songs sounded live. As they, and the rest of the world, adjusted to a new reality in terms of live performances, the idea of a special one-of-a-kind live product came to pass and a live recording was captured on October 3, 2020 in Helsinki, Finland at the On The Rocks Club. With just a minimal audience, as required for live events these days, the band kicked out a selection of their most beloved and acclaimed songs. "One Night Only - Live In Helsinki" also comes with a bunch of interesting bonus content.One Desire released their self-titled debut album to massive acclaim in 2017. With a true hit single, 'Hurt' (nearly 3 million views on Youtube, nearly 5 million streams on Spotify) the band found their way to the forefront of the melodic rock scene. A couple of successful European tours with Eclipse and H.E.A.T were followed by more dates and festivals through the end of 2017, before the band headed back to the studio to start work on their sophomore release.In the works for a little over two years, the resulting album “Midnight Empire” generously repayed the long wait the fans had to suffer for new music from the band. One Desire is proud to present ”Live With The Shadow Orchestra", a live concert extravaganza featuring the band performing with a symphony orchestra, The Shadow Orchestra (Wasa Sinfonietta), led by conductor Ville Mankkinen. ”What makes this whole thing special is that it is rather like watching a movie than watching just a regular live show. We really took the long road with this production,” says guitarist Jimmy Westerlund.
