Bio:

Kingdom Come is a german heavy hard rock band fronted by Hamburg-born vocalist Lenny Wolf. The group's first album, Kingdom Come is to date the band's most internationally popular and biggest selling recording. The group was formed in 1987 after the breakup of Wolf's moderately successful rock project Stone Fury. Wolf recruited Pittsburgh-based lead guitarist Danny Stag, Louisvillians Rick Steier (guitar) and James Kottak (drums) and Ravenna, Italy-born Johnny B. Frank on bass and keyboards. Stag and Frank had previously been members of the bands Industrials (CBS Int'l), produced by Kim Fowley; WWIII; and Population 5, which included bassist Prescott Niles (The Knack) and future Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum. Frank was also at one point the keyboard player for Josie Cotton. Kingdom Come marked the first band where Wolf sang without playing guitar. The frontman later admitted that, for a while, it was a very awkward adjustment. In 1988, the band released its debut LP, Kingdom Come. The band's first single, "Get It On," was a big enough hit on AOR stations (most requested song for 6 weeks), that the band's eponymous debut went gold the day it was shipped (610,000 units sold). Their second single/video for the power ballad "What Love Can Be" received much airplay on US radio and MTV. By the time the single/video "Loving You" was released, the album had sold to platinum status in the United States, Germany and Canada, among other music markets. The band was chosen to open for the North American Monsters of Rock tour in 1988, supporting Dokken, Scorpions, Metallica and Van Halen.Following that, they were tapped to support the Scorpions on their North American "Savage Amusement" tour. In 1989, Kingdom Come released their next LP, called In Your Face. It had sold a hardly modest 486,000 units, only 14,000 short of achieving their second Gold LP, when the band abruptly broke up for personal reasons in August, 1989.In 1992, Stag joined forces with onetime Foreigner vocalist Johnny Edwards, former Krokus drummer Jeff Klaven, and bassist David Seaton to form Royal Jelly, which got the attention of legendary A&R man Denny Cordell at Island Records in 1993. Cordell signed Stag and Royal Jelly to a recording contract. The band's first single, "Ceiling" reached #22 with a bullet on the FM airplay charts before the band was lost in the shuffle of Cordell's death from lymphoma and the purchase and restructuring of Island by Polygram. In 1995, after the demise of the band, a disillusioned Stag went back to Pittsburgh and immersed himself in the blues, to get back in touch with the source of his inspiration. Steier and Kottak went back to Kentucky and assembled the short-lived Wild Horses, who released an album on Atlantic Records. Both would later resurface in Warrant. James Kottak did not go unnoticed by the Scorpions and eventually earned a place as their permanent drummer. With a new lineup, Kingdom Come managed one more international release on Polygram, an album entitled Hands of Time in 1991, co-writing with harpist/songwriter Carol Tatum (Angels Of Venice), which was recorded by with several session guitarists and drummers, including future Poison guitarist Blues Saraceno, and former Dancer drummer Bam Bamm Shibley, with Lenny Wolf himself playing the bass. By 1993, Wolf had returned to Germany to regroup. With a new, mostly German lineup, Kingdom Come remains active with several subsequent releases and tours in Europe under their collective belt. The band keeps recording albums and touring since then. In early 2013 Kingdom Come released studio album no. 13 "Outlier", which was produced by Lenny Wolf in his home recording studio. He plans to tour again in 2013

Album:

Kingdom Come is the debut album by german hard rock band Kingdom Come. The album reached Number 12 on the U.S. Billboard 200 Album Charts.Universal Japan finally released - after many fans requests - the two more successful albums by KINGDOM COME, remastered and pressed on a great sounding SHM-CD.As usual, the quality is excellent, reproducing the entire original album artwork (Mini LP).Kingdom Come released their well-received, self-titled debut album in early 1988. Led by German born frontman Lenny Wolf, who co-wrote most of the album’s material with the group’s manager Marty Wolff, the band scored their most popular and best-selling album right out of the gate. After the band’s lead single generated tremendous buzz well ahead of the album release, Kingdom Come went gold on the same day it was released and eventually went platinum status in the United States, Germany and Canada and peaked at #12 on the U.S. Album charts. Part of the initial attraction (and later critique) of the band was their audio likeness to classic-era Led Zeppelin. Most of that comparison is predicated on Wolf's vocal resemblance to Robert Plant. In fact his timbre is often remarkably similar. He also shares Plant's ability to shift his tone suddenly from teasingly sultry to pyrotechnic. However, outside the vocals, the Kingdom Come-Led Zep comparison crumbles. Sure, there's a couple of tracks with a Zeppelin-esque vibe, but which band has not been influenced by these Rock 'n Roll legends?Lenny Wolf & Co. have said: "Led Zeppelin was not any of the band members favorite band". And listening the entire disc proves it. Wolf comes from an European AOR background with his band Stone Fury (two really good records), and the same can be said from the rest of the guys. Just listen "Now Forever After" below. The album was co-produced by Bob Rock (Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe) who forged a crisp and solid rock sound at Little Mountain studio in Vancouver and mixed it at the famous Electric Lady studios in New York City. This fresh Japanese remaster is simply wonderful, rich. There's few copies remaining of this Limited Edition, and are being sold at a very reasonable price. Get yours pronto.Highly Recommended in your collection.

Album:

In Your Face is the second album by the band Kingdom Come.In an interview, the band's members talk about the title of the album, saying that when you first look at the LP, you read "Kingdom Come", then, as you move your eyes downwards, you read "In your face". They laugh and say: "Kingdom come ... in your face, get it?", making an obscene joke or double entendre of it.Universal Japan finally released - after many fans requests - the two more successful albums by KINGDOM COME, remastered and pressed on a great sounding SHM-CD.As usual, the quality is excellent, reproducing the entire original album artwork (Mini LP).After the platinum seller self-titled debut, Polygram put big effort for Kingdom Come's second album "In Your Face". Top class producer Keith Olsen (Whitesnake, Heart, Foreigner, Journey) was hired to provide a glossy, catchy, commercial approach to band's profile. There's straight-ahead melodic hard rockers as lead cut and flagship song "Do You Like It" with a bombastic sound and arrangements mixed with killer mid-tempo AOR anthems like "Gotta Go (Can't Wage a War)", "Just Like a Wild Rose" or "Who Do You Love" which displays a charming section of stately guitar work and smooth keyboard playing. This fresh Japanase remaster is simply wonderful, rich. There's few copies remaining of this Limited Edition, and are being sold at a very reasonable price. Get yours pronto.Highly Recommended in your collection.

Album:

French reissue label Bad Reputation has been doing a great job releasing 'Collector Series / Remastered with Bonus', with the main attraction being the addition of hard to find extra material, making these reissues the 'definitive expanded versions'. In a Rock Candy Records fashion, these are official remasters in arrangement with the original recording companies.KINGDOM COME's most successful album, their self-titled debut, has been graced with a Bad Reputation remastering with the addition of 4 hard to find extra tracks as bonus."Kingdom Come" released their well-received, self-titled debut album appeared in early 1988. Led by German born frontman Lenny Wolf who co-wrote most of the album’s material with the group’s manager Marty Wolff, the band scored their most popular and best-selling album right out of the gate. After the band’s lead single generated tremendous buzz well ahead of the album release, Kingdom Come went gold on the same day it was put on sale, and eventually Platinum status in the United States, Germany and Canada and peaked at #12 on the U.S. general Album charts.Part of the initial attraction (and later critique) of the band was their audio likeness to classic-era Led Zeppelin. And listening the entire disc, the material and the sound proves it.Wolf comes from an European AOR background with his band Stone Fury (two really good records), and the same can be said from the rest of the guys. The album was co-produced by Bob Rock (Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe) who forged a crisp and solid rock sound at Little Mountain studio in Vancouver and mixed it at the famous Electric Lady studios in New York City. This Bad Reputation remaster is really good, on par with the Japanese, just a little more high on the mid-frequencies.Of special interest are the bonus tracks, all single B-sides impossible to find. There's the rocking 'Helping Hand' driven by a hot riff, and then flip sides from singles of the band's second album: the groovy midtempo 'Slow Down', a great live recording of ''The Perfect O' (where they sound like Whitesnake Slip Of The Tongue era), and 'The Wind (Live)'.To make it more interesting, we have added as extra bonus 'Get It On (US 12' Promo Version)', a rare and really different mix of this song, taken from the out of print remastered Lemon Recordings reissue from some years ago. This is the definitive version of "Kingdom Come"

Album:

Bad Image is the fourth studio album by Kingdom Come.A very underrated album by a very underrated band.Lenny Wolf has consistently stayed true to his musical visions throughout his career..he's had several different lineups for KC, but its messages still come thru, whether its about love lost or found, friendsips lost or found, life on the road or on stage, its all strait ahead rock n roll.if you are a true KC fan this album is worth a few listens to you won't be disappointed! One of the Best Hard Rock albums ever. Lenny Wolf is a musical genius. Not many can boast this type of talent. He wrote the music, wrote the lyrics, Sang, played the guitars and bass, and produced the album. This is a very good, consistent CD. I guess it's consistently a little rockier than previous releases. The music is great, the songs are very good - just a good, solid collection of well played hard rock. I like it! 'Mad queen' and 'Can't resist' are two of my faves. Solid CD.

Line-Up:

Lenny Wolf – lead vocals, guitar, bass

Titled Get It On: 1988-1991 - Classic Album Collection, the remastered box set features the band's most celebrated albums - ‘Kingdom Come’, ‘In Your Face’ and ‘Hands Of Time’. Originally released on PolyGram between 1988 and 1991, this exclusive set is fully remastered and contains bonus material on each disc.Kingdom Come's first three albums are set for a re-release. Titled Get It On: 1988-1991 - Classic Album Collection, the remastered box set features the band's most celebrated albums - ‘Kingdom Come’, ‘In Your Face’ and ‘Hands Of Time’. Originally released on PolyGram between 1988 and 1991, this exclusive set is fully remastered and contains bonus material on each disc. Released on 17 May 2019 through Caroline International, the set also contains a booklet of extended new sleeve notes from the renowned and celebrated rock journalist Malcolm Dome.Formed singer Lenny Wolf, Kingdom Come's influential debut shot them to international fame in 1988, and the band became one of the most renowned rock bands in the world. The band's first single, ‘Get It On,’ was a big enough hit on AOR stations, that the band's eponymous debut went gold the day it was shipped.Speaking to eonmusic in September 2018, drummer James Kottak talked about the extent of the album's influence, revealing that it had inspired the sound of another classic recording; "[Mötley Crüe] got Bob Rock [producer]because Tommy [Lee, Mötley Crüe drummer] came and told me at an L.A. Coliseum gig, he goes; “Man, who did your album - your drums sound incredible!” And he goes; “We’re getting Bob Rock for the next album”, and that was ‘Dr. Feelgood’. The newly remastered version of the album contains the bonus tracks ‘Get It On [Single Edit]’, ‘What Love Can Be [Single Edit]’, ‘Helping Hand [Non-LP B-side]’ and ‘What Love Can Be [Radio One Edit]’.1989's ‘In Your Face’ was met with huge acclaimed from fans and critics alike, it sold around the world in huge quantities, but as the band were about the tour the album, they imploded and dramatically split up. The album spawned three singles - ‘Do You Like It’ and ‘Overrated’ but a third ‘Stargazer’ was pressed but never was officially released. The newly remastered version of this album contains the bonus tracks ‘Slow Down [Non-LP B-side]’, ‘The Perfect 'O' [Live]’, ‘The Wind [Live]’ and ‘Inc A Word from Lenny [hidden track]’.In 1990, Lenny Wolf (who retained the bands name) reformed Kingdom Come with a whole new line-up. They made one more international release on PolyGram - ’Hands of Time’ - which was eventually released in 1991. Co-written with harpist/songwriter Carol Tatum of Angels of Venice, it was recorded with several session guitarists and drummers including future Poison guitarist Blues Saraceno and former Dancer drummer Bam Bamm Shibley. This newly remastered version of the album contains the bonus track ‘Don't Need to Justify’.

Hands of Time is the third studio album by Kingdom Come.In 1989, Kingdom Come released their second LP, 'In Your Face', with (initially), strong sales to rival their platinum selling debut, when the band abruptly broke up for personal reasons in August,1989.Without the rest of the band, lead vocalist and primary songwriter Lenny Wolf choose to retain the band's name and record a third album; the band's final international release on Polygram. Co-writing with Hands of Time songwriter Carol Tatum (Angels Of Venice), Wolf recorded the album with several session guitarists and drummers, including future Poison guitarist Blues Saraceno, and former Dancer drummer Bam Bamm Shibley. As well as singing and co-writing all the songs, Wolf also played bass and produced the album.

Album:

KINGDOME COME is a German / American band formed in 1987 by Lenny Wolf, German origin. The bran new “Outlier” is the band's new material since 2009, when their last album “Magnified”, was released. My first entanglement with this great band was when my friend recommended me their song “Should I”. As a Hard Rock magnet, it wasn't so hard for me to fall in love with this creation.“Outlier” is the common ground for brilliance and experience when it comes to Hard Rock. “Don't Want You To Wait” is one of my favorites, tuning with broadened keyboards, very atmospheric, somewhat Folkish yet with Metal type riffing that had me going for RAMMSTEIN. The chorus is pretty catchy, fine singing with Wolf's strong voice. “God Does Not Sing Our Song”, the opening track, has such a profound atmosphere, created by the rhythm section and the awesome riffing. Wolf is at his best with diverse vocal pattern from being gentle to hoarse in blink of an eye, making the song to shape up as a melancholic / melodious oriented as if it was from afar. As always, a memorable chorus plus an exquisite guitar solo. Well played and energetic drumming with a wonderful vocal line lies within the depths of “Let The Silence Talk”, a tremendous listener. “The Trap is Alive” is not too far behind, with great bass line, additional liveliness in the drumming along with AC/DC type of riffs. Sure you can miss another favorable solo moment and catchy licks.“Rough Ride Ralleye” is a song pampered with electronic attributes relaying a mysterious ambiance. Trance like rhythm and riffs remind me fundamentals of Industrial Metal, a little similar to OOMPH!. On the chorus, is a mere cry out but has that coldness of early U2. “Holy Curtain” is a bit melancholic, echoing in the vein of PINK FLOYD. “Such a Same” continues with the band's own feel, with faster drums and stronger riffs, not so harsh but typical for KINGDOME COME. Wolf's Bluesy and charismatic vocals had me thinking of WHITESNAKE. Experience sure makes the difference. On “Skip the Cover and Feel” there is almost a pure American vibe of Country meets Blues, yet the guitaring is heavier and the chorus is mega strong melodic lines.I was a bit surprised how an 80s oriented band got in so close with modern elements, yet it is still KINGDOME COME with their own sound, totally awesome. Listening to this song list again and again is a must, new things will be discovered and absorbed. You couldn't be bored. Fans of KINGDOME COME with take a smooth ride through this one.

Line Up:

Lenny Wolf - Vocals / Rhythm Guitar
Eric Foerster - Lead guitar
Frank Binke - Bass
Nader Rahy - Drums

Tracklist:

01. God Does Not Sing Our Song
02. Running High Distortion
03. Rough Ride Ralleye
04. Let the Silence Talk
05. Holy Curtain
06. The Trap is Alive
07. Skip the Cover and Feel
08. Don't Want You to Wait
09. Such a Same
