Catawompus was formed in Muncie, Indiana, USA in January 1994 by Douglas Gery.Band spent 1994 - 1996 playing the circuit in Indiana as well as Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, & Illinois.Relocated to Nashville, TN. in January 1997.Known for their dual-twin lead guitar sound.Receiving airplay on Indiana, Ohio & Tennessee radio stations.Won numerous Battle of the Band Competitions including Ernie Ball Strings Tennessee Competition.Musical endorsement deals with SIT strings, VHT Amplifiers, Gibson Guitars, & Fred Kelly Guitar Picks.*Performed in TicketMaster showcase in Bloomington, IN.Recorded 1995 demo at Atlanta's Tree Studios with Rodney Mills who has also worked with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pearl Jam, Sheryl Crow, .38 Special & many others.*Recorded 1998 demo with the help of producer Fred Coury & Tom Keifer (of Cinderella fame) at Project One Studio in Hendersonville, TN.*Recorded 1999 CD "Well, It's About Time" at Charlie Daniels Twin Pines Studio in Lebenon, TN.CATAWOMPUS has also opened for other major artists such as:Marshall Tucker Band, Molly Hatchett , Faith Hill , Sammy Kershaw , Edgar Winter , Dr. Hook , Screaming Cheetah Wheelies , Jackyl , Hair of the Dog , Great White , 3 Dog Night , Starship , Lynch Mob ,Leslie West (Mountain).Opened 1996 "Rock the Smokies" concert outside Knoxville, TN. with .38 Special, Travis Tritt, Marty Stuart, Charlie Daniels & Hank Williams Jr. Signed deal with Halycon Music (Germany) for release/distribution of "Well, It's About Time" CD.* Released 2nd Halycon CD "It's Spelled… C.A.T.A.W.O.M.P.U.S." - January 2005.
