Was founded in 1980 by Paul “ Shorty” Van Camp (lead guitar + lead vocals) and “Fat Leo” (drums) who had just splitted up their previous band “Mothers of Track”.After a few auditions “Spooky” (bassguitar + lead vocals) joined the band. They decided to stay a powertrio and started working on the songs.Already after 4 months a first record “Ready for Hell” was recorded and released by major company WEA (Warner Bros).After this release Killer knew a very fast evolution and became a well respected and major band allover Europe and even abroad. Killer was managed and adviced by Alfie Falkenbach, Leo Felsenstein and Stonne Holmgren, the guys who later founded “Mausoleum”, one of the first independent Heavy Metal labels.“Killer” was the first Belgian metalband inspired by upcoming success of the NWOBHM bands such as Saxon, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard etc.Due to the trio formula, the rough voices, speedy uptempos, and double bassdrums, Killer was always compared with “Motorhead”. This was rather an honour than an insult.Killer and Motorhead were speedy bands long before the existing of “Metallica”, so in a way we were innovators in the early eighties. Although “Killer” was not punky but always very melodic.

• 43 years since their origination, Killer release ‘Hellfire’, their eighth full-length studio album and their first new record since 2015’s "Monsters Of Rock".• For fans of Metallica, Motörhead, NWOBHM.• 13 new slabs of classic heavy metal from the hand of guitarist and singer Paul 'Shorty' Van Camp, the line-up is completed by Ivan 'Vanne' Opdebeeck on drums and backing vocals and Jan Anthonis on bass guitar and backing vocals.• Plus two bonus tracks, "Tonight" and "Same Old Story".• And a second album: "The Best Of Killer 1980-2023", cherry picking 16 killer Killer tracks, presenting 43 years of the band's back catalogue.• From the title track of their debut album "Ready For Hell" up to "Back To The Roots" from 2015’s "Monsters Of Rock". In addition, Killer have also revisited three classics from their long career, with new 2023 recordings of "Backshooter", "Secret Love" and "Blinded".In the history of Belgian heavy metal, there are just a handful of bands that stand apart as being influential and impressive. Of these, Killer is perhaps the most important of all. While there have been others – most notably Acid, Ostrogoth and Crossfire – who have all made an impact, it is Killer who is regarded as the most influential name to come out of Belgium’s heavy metal scene. Our heavy metal heroes originally formed in 1980, by Paul 'Shorty' Van Camp on lead guitar and vocals, “Fat Leo” on drums and “Spooky” on bass guitar and lead vocals. Inspired by the burgeoning New Wave Of British Heavy Metal scene that gave us Iron Maiden, Saxon and Diamond Head, Killer’s heavy and aggressive sound, alloyed to their power trio format, led to favorable comparisons to Motörhead. After a mere four months, they released "Ready For Hell" on WEA, becoming a cult draw across Europe.
